  • In real world, the project managers handle conflicting goals that govern the use of resources within the stipulated time and budget with required quality and safety. These conflicting goals are required to be optimized simultaneously by the project managers in the framework of fuzzy aspiration levels. The fuzzy linear programming model proposed herein helps project managers to minimize total project costs, completion time, and crashing costs considering indirect costs, contractual penalty costs etc by practically charging them in terms of direct cost of the project. A case study of bituminous pavement under construction is considered to demonstrate the feasibility of applying the proposed model for optimization of project parameters. Consequently, the proposed model yields an efficient compromise solution and the decision maker's overall degree of satisfaction with multiple fuzzy goal values. Additionally, the proposed model provides a systematic decision-making framework, enabling decision maker to interactively modify the fuzzy data and model parameters until a satisfactory solution is obtained. The significant characteristics that differentiate the proposed model with other models include, flexible decision-making process, multiple objective functions, and wide-ranging decision information.

  • The research is based on the theory of cognitive psychology that a decision maker creates an internal belief through environment information process and that personal behavior is determined as a means of belief practice. This study implemented a language network analysis to understand the 16th President Noh Moo-hyun"s real estate policy belief who was a key decision maker of Korea. The results of this study are as follows. First, the chief variables of real estate policy recognized by president Rho Mu Hyun included civil economy and real estate speculation and so on. Second, the chief variables of real estate policy recognized by president Rho Mu Hyun did indicate weak correlation with other diverse economic variables. Third, the analysis shows that in practicing the real estate policy, excessive civil economy related with the real estate policy and the obsession with civil life variables worked as reason to pursue social contest rather than social agreement. It is thought that this study result will contribute to policy theory in explaining the policy decision-making process from the perspective of cognitive psychology.

  • This paper is to illustrate the possibility to use organizational knowledge and data warehouse simultaenously for a decision maker. Organizational knowledge is produced for qualitative decision-making process and data warehouse is used for quantitative decision-making process. However, two things are currently implemented separately in many organizations although being needed for decision makers. This research shows a model for building integrated system and a prototyping system based on the model. And its effectiveness is discussed.

  • Supporting decision-makers involves not only functions of conventional DSS such as problem identification, alternative generation and selection but also education and business processing. The purpose of this paper is to propose Decision-Maker Support System (DMSS) that comprehensively supports decision-makers who should enhance their decision quality. The DMSS consists of three core subsystem: distance learning system, conventional DSS and ERP system.

  • In sequential capital allocation processes, the information on the future availability (flexibility) of invested funds provides a decision maker with additional insight into the characteristics of alternatives. The investment decision with consideration of flexibility and profitability results in more wealth accumulation than the decision without considering flexibility does in sequential investment processes. To utilize the information on the flexibility under certainty, the PV/FI decision model is developed.

  • Fuzzy hierarchical analysis(FHA) has the usefulness to allow decision maker's ambiguities when comparing two alternatives. But, for easiuly appling it to a decision problem, the handling its many data and for decision makers much not knowing fuzzy theory are the obstacles to must be overcomed even if the results of final fuzzy weights can be computed by a personal computer. This paper decribes that FHA is revised, and input/output interfaces are developed to collect input data easily and interprete the fuzzy resultlts. Finally, a fuzzy decision process is suggested with them.

  • R&D is the core competence of an enterprise. Furthermore, R&D requires huge capital investment and has very risky characteristics. Therefore, to be successful in R&D process, several approaches of engineering economics are used prior to decision-making. Until now, typical approaches of engineering economics such as NPV(net present value) or DCF(Discounted cash flow) have been used. But, they cannot properly capture managerial flexibility to adapt and revise later decisions in response to unexpected market development. In a constantly changing and always uncertain marketplace, managerial operation flexibility and strategic adaptability have become vital in order to successfully capitalize on favorable future investment opportunities and limit losses from adverse market development. For the alternatives of conventional static decision-making approaches, new concept of using real options is introduced. Real option theory is based on financial option's characteristics and checks every revision interval whether situation have changed favorable to decision maker or not. In advantageous situation, the decision maker has only to go on. In contrast, with unfavorable situation, he abandons the investment immediately. In this aspect, real option model is more suitable in very uncertain and dynamic business environment in that it can provide the opportunity to cope with flexibility. This paper suggests efficient and effective R&D investment strategy by using real options model. In addition, this paper compares financial options and real options.

  • Decision-makers have different and sometimes conflicting goals with utilities in operating dam reservoirs. As repeated interactions exist between decision-makers in the long-term, and the utility of each decision-making organization is affected not only by its selected strategy, but also by other rivals' strategies; selecting and prioritizing optimum strategies from a decision maker's point of view are of great importance while interacting with others. In this paper, a model based on a fuzzy set theory, for determining the priority of decision-makers' strategies in optimal qualitative-quantitative operation management of dam reservoir is presented. The fuzzy priority matrix is developed via defining membership functions of a fuzzy set for each decision maker's strategies, so that all uncertainties are taken into account. This matrix includes priorities assigned to possible combination for other decision makers' strategies in bargaining with each player's viewpoint. Here, the 15-Khordad Dam located in the central part of Iran, suffering from low water quality, was studied in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the model. Then, the range of quality of water withdrawal agreed by all decision-makers was determined using the prioritization matrix based on fuzzy logic. The results showed that the model proposed in the study had high effectiveness model.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose an interactive method, using fuzzy Choquet's integral, which is designed to find out the mostly preferred solutions for deterministic MADM problems with many attributes and alternatives. The basic idea of the paper is essentially the same as that of the one we have published before[1]; subgrouping of attributes and eliminating of inefficient solutions. But the difference between these two methods lies in the fact that the present method evaluates and eliminates alternatives using fuzzy Choquet's integral on the basis of decision-maker's judgements about the relative importance of subgroups of attributes, rather than using mathematical programming on the basis of pair-wise comparisons of alternatives. If such information is obtainable from the decision-maker, the method can be proved to be much easier to understand and more efficient to compute.

  • Generally, the repeater in CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) included HPA(HI-Power Amplifier) to amplifier communication signals. Also , HPA contained PD(Predistortor) to maintain the linearization of amplifier characteristics. A configuration component of PD have been used electricity nonlinear devices such that diode. But this diode takes many influences at the circumstance temperature. Consequently, it can't maintain output linearization, and drop the communication quality. The manufacturer set bias of the circuit to the manual at the first out of ware-house low But the Q-point changes according to the change of the high temperature or low temperature. Therefore, we designed a system to maintain the Q-point by FDM(Fuzzy Decision Maker) in this paper.
