$SrSO_{4}$의 첨가량이 Bi2212 고온초전도체 튜브에 미치는 영향 (The effect of $SrSO_{4}$ on Bi2212 HTS tube)

  • $SrSO_4$ were systematically added on Bi2212 from 0 to 10wt% to study the effect of Bi2212 superconductor tube characteristics. After mixing, the melted solution of Bi2212 and $SrSO_4$ was initially poured into the cylinder type of steel mold preheated at $550^{\circ}C$ for 30min and rotated at 1000rpm. Following that, tube was annealed at $840^{\circ}C$ for 72hrs. The tube dimension was 60 in diameter, 60mm in length and 2mm in thickness. XRD data suggests that there was no typical segregation phase related with $SrSO_4$. Well textured grain with typical 2212 phase was observed and average size was $20{\mu}m$. The measured critical current and critical current density of Bi2212 tube added by 5% $SrSO_4$ at 77K were 495A and $202A/cm^2$ respectively.

  • To wind a HTS (High Temperature Superconductor) tape conductor on a bobbin, double pancake winding technique is widely used to reduce number of splicing contacts between conductor pieces. However, this makes some Ic (critical current) degradation on kink points which is unavoidable. This paper describes the two ways of winding; usual double pancake and soldered double pancake. Characteristics of the two windings are measured and compared.

  • This paper presents the optimization for shape design of a field coil used High Temperature Superconducting Motor (HTSM). In materials of HTSM, critical current Ic is more sensitive to magnetic fields directed along the axis or the unit cell ($B_{\bot}$). Thus, in the shape design of the HTS magnet. the maximum $B_{\bot}$ should be reduced to limit Ic. In order to reduce the maximum $B_{\bot}$, the shape optimization of the magnet, which is used for the field coil of HTSM, is necessary. It can be accomplished by using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Finally, the result of RSM is verified by comparison with these experimental results.

  • The influences of mixed mode of bending-tension on the Ic degradation and their interaction on the strain effect were evaluated in this study. A test fixture which applies a mixed deformation mode of bending-tension to HTS tapes has been newly devised. When the strain induced in the tape due to the mixed deformation mode was expressed as a total tensile strain, the irreversible strain to the critical current degradation of Bi-2223 tapes increased when compared with the case of simple bending mode, and the value at both ends were larger than that at the central region of the bend part. The Ic degradation behavior at the region exceeding the irreversible strain showed quiet a rapid drop of the Ic when compared with the simple bending cases. As the applied bending strain increased namely as the diameter of mandrel adopted decreased, the apparent irreversible strain of Bi-2223 tapes increased However, the increment decreased as the mandrel diameter decreased. As a result, it could be found that the tension to be applied to the Bi-2223 tapes during cabling of HTS tapes should be smaller, as the mandrel diameter becomes smaller.

Degradation characteristics of 2G HTS tapes with respect to an electrical breakdown

  • The electrical insulation design for a superconducting coil system is important for developing high voltage superconducting apparatuses. Also, the degraded characteristics of superconducting tapes due to an electrical breakdown should be considered for superconducting coils design. In this study, the degradation characteristics of 2G high temperature superconducting (HTS) tapes were studied with respect to electrical breakdown tests. The degradation tests of 2G HTS tapes were performed with various stabilizer materials. The degradation characteristics of 2G HTS tapes such as critical current(Ic) and index number were observed by performing electrical breakdown tests. It was found that the characteristics such as Ic and index number can be degraded by an electrical breakdown. Moreover, it was concluded that the degradation characteristics of 2G HTS tapes were affected by a stabilizer material and applied breakdown voltage. The cross sectional view of 2G HTS tapes was observed by using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). As results, it is found that the degradation characteristics of 2G HTS tapes are concerned with hardness and electrical resistivity of stabilizer layers.

  • YBCO coated conductor is one of the most promising materials as a new generations wire especially for practical power applications. In this work, $YBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{7}$ -$\delta$/(YBCO) coated conductors (CC) were deposited by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) from buffer layers to superconducting layer on hi-axially textured metal tape. The oxide multilayer buffered substrate of architectures of $CeO_2$/$YSZ/Y_2$$O_3$ was fabricated by PLD at steady status. Then YBCO layer was deposited on RABiTS substrate by stationary and reel-to-reel (R2R) continuous process and we compared with deposition conditions of both processes. The degree of texture of each layer was investigated using X-ray diffraction including $\theta$-2$\theta$ scans, $\omega$-scans and $\Phi$-scans analysis. Their surface morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The FWHM of the X-ray $\Phi$-scans and $\Phi$-scans indicated that YBCO and buffer layers closely replicate the in-plane and out-of-plane texture of metal tape. Critical current (Ic) at 77 K, self-field of 75.8 A/cm-width, critical temperature (Tc) of 85 K, and critical current density (Ic) of 3.7 MA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ were measured from coated conductor deposited by stationary process. And coated conductor deposited by R2R continuous process had Ic of 57.5 A/cm-width, Tc of 86.5 K and Jc of 2.0 MA/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The film also exhibits a homogeneous and dense surface morphology.

입력전압을 감지하지 않는 전류연속/임계동작모드 Active Power Factor Correction Circuit (A Continuous Conduction mode/Critical Conduction Mode Active Power Factor Correction Circuit with Input Voltage Sensor-less Control)

  • 본 논문에서는 입력전압을 감지하지 않는 전류연속/임계동작모드 active power factor correction(PFC) circuit을 제안하였다. 기존의 입력전압을 감지하지 않는 PFC circuit의 경우 출력전류가 낮은 경 부하 조건에서 DCM 동작을 수행하고, 이에 따라 PF가 감소하는 문제가 발생한다. 제안한 PFC circuit은 70KHz의 주파수로 CCM 동작을 수행하고, 경 부하 조건에서 최대 200KHz까지 스위칭 주파수가 가변되는 CRM 동작을 수행하도록 하였다. 이를 통해 경 부하 조건에서 PF가 감소하는 문제를 해결하였다. PFC controller IC는 $0.35{\mu}m$ BCDMOS 공정을 이용하여 제작하였으며, 240W급 PFC prototype을 제작하여 실험하였다. 제안한 PFC circuit은 기존의 PFC circcuit 대비 최대 10%의 역률이 향상되었고, IEC 61000-3-2 Class D 규격에 따른 경 부하 조건에서는 최대 4% 역률이 향상되었다.

  • The influences of mixed strain mode of bending-tension on the critical current. Ic in externally reinforced Bi-2223 tapes and their interaction were investigated in this study. A test fixture which providing a mixed deformation mode of bending-tension to HTS tapes has been newly devised. When the total strain induced in the tape in the mixed strain mode was expressed by the superposition of the bending and tensile strains the irreversible strain for the critical current degradation of Bi-2223 tapes increased, as compared with the simple bending mode case. The $I_c$ degradation at the region exceeding the irreversible strain showed a medium between the simple bending case and the simple tension case. As the initial bending strain imparted increased , namely as the diameter of mandrel adopted decreased. the apparent irreversible strain in Bi-2223 tapes increased . but the increment became smaller As a result. it can be found that the tension to be applied to bent Bi-2223 tapes during cabling should be smaller. as the mandrel diameter becomes smaller.

Preliminary investigation of Ic homogeneity along the longitudinal direction of YBCO coated conductor tape under tensile loading

  • In this study, the homogeneity of critical current, $I_c$, along the lengthwise direction in the coated conductor (CC) tape under uniaxial tension was investigated using a multiple voltage tap configuration. Initially, a gradual and homogeneous $I_c$ degradation occurred in all subsections of the tape up to a certain strain value. This was followed by an abrupt $I_c$ degradation in some subsections, which caused scattering in $I_c$ values along the length with increasing tension strain. The $I_c$ degradation behaviour was also explained through n-value as well as microstructure analyses. Subsections showed $I_c$ scattering corresponding to damaged areas of the CC tape revealed that transverse cracks were distributed throughout the gauge length. This homogeneous $I_c$ degradation behaviour under tension is similar with the case under torsion strain but different with the case under hard bending which were previously reported. This behaviour is also different with the case using Bi-2223 HTS tapes under tension strain.

Sm 첨가 F-free Y & Cu 전구용액의 합성 및 열처리 공정의 최적화 (Synthesis of F-free Y & Cu precursor solution and optimization of annealing process)

  • The total Fluorine content in the precursor solution for MOD processing of YBCO coated conductors can be significantly reduced by synthesizing precursor solution with F-free Y & Cu precursor and Barium trifluoroacetate(TFA). It was shown that crack-free and uniform precursor films were formed after calcinations in humidified oxygen atmosphere. Less than 2 hours are required to finish the calcinations process and XRD measurement shows that $BaF_2,\;CuO,\;Y_2O_3$ are major constituent of calcined precursor films. Film thickness after calcinations was improved to be 2.8um by applying slot-die coating method. In particular, addition of Samarium shows critical current of $I_c=273A/cm-w(J_c=3.8MA/cm^2)$. It is shown that uniform and fast processing route to YBCO coated conductor with high Ic can be provided by employing F-free Y & Cu precursor solution in MOD process.
