  • In this study, an e-portfolio system was constructed and utilized to communicate with students, while processing the overall procedure of teaching-learning activities as data for qualitative improvement in the non-face-to-face educational environment. The e-portfolio system was designed to support the entire process of reflection from the instructor's lesson planning, regular checking of the learner's understanding during the course operation process, online communication, and support for learner-centered educational activities. Analyzing the effectiveness of the communication-based learning effect between instructors and learners using the e-portfolio in liberal arts programming classes, which may be difficult for non-major students, a significant correlation was found in problem-solving skills, and midterm and final exams. Additionally, the result of analyzing the expanded applicability of e-portfolio satisfaction demonstrated a significant correlation with the students' computational thinking ability, test results, assignments, and academic performance. It was found to have a significant effect on the improvement of computational thinking ability. If non-face-to-face education is conducted using the proposed e-portfolio system type, it will be possible to improve the quality of online education, while communicating effectively with students.

  • In Korea, software education is implemented from elementary school. As a representative software education tool for elementary schools, various chess games reconstructed based on the rules of Western chess games are being used. On the other hand, Yutnori, one of our traditional games, also includes elements of software education, so research on this is needed. Therefore, in this study, a Yutnori program based on computational thinking using an educational programming language, Entry, and a turtle robot was developed and its validity verified. As a result of the validity verification, the CVR value was higher than 0.7 in the degree of agreement with the subject achievement standard (3 questions), the appropriateness of learning materials (4 questions), and the possibility of class application (3 questions). Therefore, it could be judged that the learning program developed in this study has a high level of agreement with the subject achievement standards, appropriate learning materials, and high possibility of being applied to classes. In order to generalize this content in the future, the effectiveness will need to be verified, and experimental research will be needed to understand this.

  • This study explores the use of animation as a tool for both English learning and recognizing social problems. In addition, this study examines how topic-centered learning paired with animation affects the acquisition of English vocabulary and expressions specific to discussing social problems. To achieve these goals, the study used two animations, Zootopia and Luca, and focused specifically on discrimination and prejudice. Conversation analysis, discussion activities, and learning of vocabulary and expressions in context were conducted. To evaluate the research, pre-tests, post-tests, a questionnaire, and thinking notes containing learners' opinions were used. Pre- and post-tests were administered to determine the extent of improvement in students' vocabulary and expression learning, and they reveal a statistically significant difference between the two tests. A questionnaire and thinking notes were analyzed in order to understand learners' responses and attitudes toward the class, and the results demonstrate an overall satisfaction with this class using animation topics (81.8%). The data highlights three reasons for this satisfaction: developing an in-depth understanding of movies, enhanced awareness of social problems, and increased engagement through the use of animations. These findings highlight the importance of conducting an in-depth analysis of the targeted topic when using animation.

Nomad Thinking Implied in Duchamp's Readymades (뒤샹의 레디메이드에 함의된 노마드적 사유)

  • Duchamp chose readymades mainly for his denial of retinal painting and his desire and fluid thinking for changes inside him. His thinking is well presented in his readymade works. One of his early readymades, Bicycle Wheel, expresses correlations between beings and capital. Its essence is capital and the desire of beings. It is connected to Desire or Desire-Machine proposed as a social reform and creation model by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Bicycle Wheel does not simply end in desire relations between capital and beings, though. When the desire of beings is converted into positive desire, it can keep inventing and creating something that is repetitive, fluid, and new. Duchamp tried to convey this positive desire through his readymade Fountain. Duchamp created a ready-made article toilet into a work of art in Fountain, being driven by desire flowing inside him. This is connected to the attributes of nomads that refused to settle down and continue to flow in search of new landscapes. This way of his thinking is clearly reflected in his Box in a Valise. He was motivated to create this work by his fluid thinking. In this work, various situations can unfold often according to the directions of two elements, place and arrangement. Here, place guarantees fluidity, and arrangement variability or desire. According to Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, fluidity represents nomads with the characteristics of flow and variation, and desire represents productivity or production or creation. Box in a Valise represents nomads themselves. The nomads defined by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari keep flowing and create a new world. They are in line with the thinking of Duchamp that refused to settle down at one place and escape from the old order to create a new artistic world. This type of nomads can be called revolutionists or creators that acknowledge differences and create. Nomads also contain the concept of resistance to the old order. Deleuze and Guattari proposed a war machine as a model of this resistance. Duchamp and his readymades can thus be called war machines.
