  • This study investigated the differences in time use patterns and psychological states across daily activity contexts and interpersonal contexts, depending on the levels of school maladjustment among elementary school students. Using the Experience Sampling Method (ESM), 107 elementary school 6th grade students' daily time use patterns and psychological states across daily contexts were measured six times a day over a period of 4 days. Using the school maladjustment scale, an internal problem based school maladjusted group and an external problem based school maladjusted group were identified and selected. The daily time use patterns and psychological states of both school maladjusted groups were compared to those of the adjusted groups. The principle findings are as follows: first, the school maladjusted group students' daily time use patterns across daily activity contexts or interpersonal contexts did not differ from those of the students from the school adjusted group. Second, the school maladjusted group students experienced more negative emotions, lower concentration levels, and lower motivation levels across daily contexts than the school adjusted group students. These differences in motivation between the external problem school maladjusted group and adjusted group, however, were greater in the schoolwork context compared to the other daily activity contexts. The findings were discussed in the contexts of the daily experiences of child school maladjustment.

  • This study was accomplished to present a new paradigm of rural environmental planning for the purpose of changing a rural planner's acknowledgments. This study was composed of a follows, To search the structures and orders in rural environment on the point of four environmental contexts. First, environment contexts with spaces, society, and time. Second, environment contexts with spaces unit in human settlement. Third, environment contexts with correlation of physical environment, institutional environment, and social environment. Fourth, environment contexts with ecotope( physiotope + biotope) and landscape ecology. To analyze and criticize a present political situation of rural planning in Korea. To apply a paradigm of environmental planning for rural planning.

  • Various contexts are involved in the processes of science learning and instruction. In the perspective that the results of science learning and instruction usually depend on the nature of learning task content and context, content effects or context effects have been researched up to now. But, the discrimination between them was very ambiguous. For the clarity of them, it was supposed that science content would be composed of decontextualized knowledges and contexts, which were respectively dichotomized in common and special ones among disciplines of science. Science learning and instruction was discussed in view of interactions between cognitive, learning task, and social-cultural contexts. Especially, it was emphasized that task contexts, as a bridging role among contexts should be constructed considering cognitive and social cultural contexts.

  • There has been a growing enthusiasm in Korea for the early education of English as a foreign language (EFL). The present study examined the validity of the Critical Period Hypothesis in terms of the Universal Grammar (UG), in three different types of learning contexts - first language (L1), second language (SL), and foreign language (FL) learning contexts. While previous research findings in L1 and SL learning contexts suggest that UG principles and parameters are accessible to language learners only for the early years of lifetime, this article argues that their results - and even the methods - cannot be applied to EFL settings and that independent studies on the EFL context are, required. It also proposes the recent UG notion of functional categories as the most appropriate subject in the discussion of Korean EFL learners' access to UG. Findings on foreign language contexts, including the author's own, strongly indicate that UG is not sensitive to learners' starting ages in FL settings. If young children in FL contexts cannot develop their interlanguage grammar based on UG, the existing teaching methods for young children should be revised.

  • For another study of soft context and soft concept closely related to formal context and formal concept, in this paper, we propose the notions of conditional concepts, decision concepts and soft decision context based on soft contexts. Subsequently, the notions of consistent soft decision context and consistent set are introduced, and some properties for consistent set of soft decision contexts are investigated.

  • The study aims to analyze elementary school students' understanding of the concept of equality sign in contexts, to reflect the types of contexts for equality sign which mathematics textbook series for $1{\sim}4$ grades on natural numbers and its operation provide, and to invetigate the effects of teaching methods of the concept of equality sign suggested in this research. In order to achieve these purposes, the origin, concept, and contexts of equality sign were theoretically reviewed and organized. Also the error types in using equality sign were reflected. Modelling, discussing truth or falsity of equations, identifying relations between numbers and their operation, conjecturing basic properties of numbers and their operations, experiencing diverse contexts for equality sign, and creating contexts for equality sign are set up as teaching methods for better understanding the concept of equality sign. The conclusions are as follows. Firstly, elementary school students' under-standing of the concept of equality sign varied by context and was generally far from satisfactory. In particular, they had difficulties in understanding the concept of the equal sign in contexts with operations on both sides. The most frequently witnessed error was to recognize equality sign as a result of operations. Secondly, student' lack of understanding of the concept of equality sign came from the fact that elementary textbooks failed to provide diverse contexts for equality sign. According to the textbook analysis, contexts with operations on the left side of the equal sign in the form of $a{\pm}b=c$ were provided excessively, with the other contexts hardly seen. Thirdly, teaching methods provided in the study were found to be effective for enhancing understanding the concept of equality sign. In other words, these methods enabled students to focus on relational understanding of concept of equality sign rather than operational one.

  • Probabilistic distribution functions based data generation method is very effective. Probabilistic distribution functions are defined under the assumption that daily routine contexts are mainly depended on a time-based schedule. However, daily life contexts are frequently determined by previous contexts because contexts have consistency and/or sequential flows. In order to refect previous contexts effect, a situation propagation network is proposed in this paper. As proposed situation propagation network make parameters of related probabilistic distribution functions update, generated contexts can be more realistic and natural. Through the simulation study, proposed context-data generation model generated general outworker's data about 11 daily contexts at home. Generated data are evaluated with respect to reduction of ambiguity and confliction using newly defined indexes of ambiguity and confliction of sequential contexts. In conclusion, in case of combining situation propagation network with probabilistic distribution functions, ambiguity and confliction of data can be reduced 6.45% and 4.60% respectively.

  • The concept of ubiquitous computing has changed the way we look at computing. In the ubiquitous computing, the service depends on the contexts. The existing scheduling management systems require the contexts, but does not consider various contexts. In this paper, we design and implement new web-based scheduling management system adaptive to contexts. We implemented our system by using user, time, season, location. The results show that our system suggests a good scheduling.

  • The increasing popularity of mobile devices, such as cellular phones, smart phones, and PDAs, has fostered the need to recommend more effective information in ubiquitous environments. We propose the recommendation method for mobile contents service using contexts and prefetching in ubiquitous environment. The proposed method enables to find some relevant information to specific user's contexts and computing system contexts. The prefetching has been applied to recommend to user more effectively. Our proposed method makes more effective information recommendation. The proposed method is conceptually comprised of three main tasks. The first task is to build a prefetching zone based on user's current contexts. The second task is to extract candidate information for each user's contexts. The final task is prefetch the information considering mobile device's resource. We describe a new recommendation.

  • In ubiquitous environments, recommendation service based on multiple contexts is required. The total amount of information is larger due to the greater number of contexts in multiple context environments. This paper proposes a new effective recommendation method adaptive to multiple contexts in ubiquitous environments. A new method of recommendations in multiple context environments is suggested that uses user's preferences and behavior as a weighting factor. This paper describes the recommendation method, scenario and the experimental results. The results verify that the proposed method's recommendation performance is better than other existing method.
