  • The purpose of the study is to develop effective teaching methods to strengthen the major learning capabilities of electronic engineering learners through inquiry learning using computing thinking ability. To this end, first, in the electronic engineering curriculum, we performed teaching-learning through an inquiry and learning model related to mathematics, probability, and statistics under the theme of various majors in electronic engineering, focusing on understanding computing thinking skills. Second, an efficient electronic engineering subject inquiry class operation using computing thinking ability was conducted, and electronic engineering-linked education contents based on the components of computer thinking were presented. Third, by conducting a case study on inquiry-style teaching using computing thinking skills in the electronic engineering curriculum, we identified the validity of the teaching method to strengthen major competency. In order to prepare for the 4th Industrial Revolution, by implementing mathematics, probability, statistics-related linkage, and convergence education to foster convergent talent, we tried to present effective electronic engineering major competency enhancement measures and cope with innovative technological changes.

  • In this paper, we present a new environment of learning and teaching of trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions, the most difficult parts for students to learn among functions, through sound and music, students like the most. First, by using sound and music, we try to arouse student's interest. Second, we let students see and hear properties of transcendental functions so that students can understand and remember them easily. Finally we encourage students to compose their favorite song using transcendental functions so that they can experience the practicality of transcendental functions.

  • To cultivate talented people with creative and convergent thinking skills to live in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the national curriculum of Korea is gradually emphasizing convergence education and software education. To meet the demands of the times, this paper suggests subject-convergent teaching-learning materials for educating core principles of Support Vector Machines, especially targeting elementary learners. Based on analysis of the national curriculum, achievement standards of three subjects are integrated. After printable worksheets for traditional face-to-face classes had developed, they were transformed to online interactive worksheets for non-face-to-face classes. The teaching-learning materials are expected to promote the growth of the learners' academic motivation and knowledge.

  • Although computer technology has a great potential for improving mathematics learning practice, it rarely used in mathematics classroom. The purpose of this study is to suggest the future direction for research in mathematics computer technology. First, there has to be a research on mathematics curriculum that take computer technology into account. Second, research on teaching sequence for certain content area is needed. Because computer technology would change the order of teaching sequence. Third, how students would learn with computer technology? how do they acquire knowledge and make sense of it? Fourth, how could we assess the learning with computer technology? Most of all, because teachers play a key role to succeed in educational reform, they have to be familiar with computer technology and software to introduce it into mathematics learning and to use it properly.

  • Teach pendant is the most widely used means of robot teaching at present. Despite the difficulties of using the motion command buttons on the teach pendant, it is an economical, robust, and effective device for robot teaching task. This paper presents the development of a force/moment direction sensor named COSMO that can improve the teach pendant based robot teaching. Robot teaching experiment of a six axis commercial robot using the sensor is described where operator holds the sensor with a hand, and move the robot by pushing, pulling, and twisting the sensor in the direction of the desired motion. No prior knowledge of the coordinate system is required. The function of the COSMO sensor is to detect the presence f force and moment along the principal axes of the sensor coordinate system. The transducer used in the sensor is micro-switch, and this intuitive robot teaching can be implemented at a very low cost.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an effective teaching model for the "Problem solving methods and procedures" section in the revised academic high school informatics curriculum, verify its effectiveness, make the subject more effective and appealing to teachers as well as students. The model includes a middle school level informatics curriculum for the students who have yet to learn the section. This development follows the ADDIE model, and the Python programming language is adopted for the model. Using the model, classes were conducted with two groups: high school computer club students and undergraduate students majoring in computer education. Of the undergraduate students 75% responded positively to the model. This model was applied in the actual high school classroom teaching for 23 class-hours in the spring semester 2012. The Pearson correlation coefficient that verifies the correspondence between the PSI score and the informatics midterm exam grade is .247, which reflects a weak positive correlation. The result of the study showed that the developed teaching model is an effective tool in educating students about the "problem solving methods and procedures". The model is to be a cornerstone of teaching/learning plans for informatics at academic high school as well as training materials for pre-service teachers.

  • Information and knowledge society in the 21st century computer education is very important. Until now, much research on computer applications in education and training in computer literacy are a lot of self-efficacy scales have been developed. However, the development of students' creativity and reasoning to computer literacy education is more important than education is a computer programming language. And self-efficacy for teaching computer programming language developed measures insufficient. Therefore, in this study, self-efficacy for teaching computer programming language developed scale. This measure is a computer that can be programmed to target elementary school students were investigated. The results of computer programming education for elementary school children who are higher in the self-efficacy. The results of this study are that elementary school students when teaching computer programming that is very reasonable results.

  • This study described the application of constructivism and information technology for teaching simple random sampling. We considered more student's participation, more interaction, and more flow in their introductory statistics class. In addition, we presented a web-based teaching and learning system for simple random sampling to demonstrate.
