The size of Vietnam's construction market has been on a steady rise recently, and foreign construction companies such as China and Japan have been expanding their presence. Therefore, this study examined the design capabilities, construction capabilities, and construction project management capabilities of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese construction companies operating in Vietnam and local construction companies operating in Vietnam. As a result, it was found that Japan, Korea, China, and Vietnam were competitive in order. In particular, Korea's competitiveness in high-rise buildings and plants has been shown to be highly competitive in Vietnam. Based on these results, the government proposed measures to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean construction companies in Vietnam.

The article identifies areas for effective management of innovative development. The competitiveness of the economy in the context of European integration and economic security is assessed. The level of innovative economy of some countries of the world is analyzed. The issue of attracting foreign investors to stimulate innovative production in Ukraine is raised. It is identified the need for the formation of an updated state policy capable of providing innovative development and improving the competitive position of the state in international rankings. Emphasis is placed on the need to form a critical mass of managers-civil servants capable of developing, implementing and monitoring the policy of innovative development of entrepreneurship.

The competitive strategy perspective is one of the important approaches to develop ecotourism sites. It increases the residents' profits and overcomes the instability of the supply in the marketability. The study aims to explore the ecotourism successful factors based on competitiveness strategies. We found seven key success factors of the competitive strategy approach in the ecotourism industry as the guarantee of sustainable ecotourism as follows: infrastructure, operation management, product/technical development, human resources, service system and cultivation of tourists' understanding and behavior, marketing activities, and local resources. Conclusions and practical implications for successful factors of ecotourism are presented according to the result of the in-depth interview and focus group interview with ecotourism experts.

The overall purpose of this paper is to conduct research on alternatives for strengthening the competitiveness of a state-run shipping company, Vinalines Corporation, the largest shipping and maritime enterprise in Vietnam. The first section of the introduction gives a panoramic overview of the current development situation of the Vietnam maritime industry and Vinalines. After summarizing a literature review in section 2, some alternatives are proposed in sections 3 and 4 to overcome the current difficulties of Vinalines and to improve the corporation's competitiveness for sustainable development by utilizing linear optimization and financial analysis. The final section presents a summary and recommendation for future study. It is concluded that privatization is the key solution for every problem faced by the corporation at present. Furthermore, modification of laws, restructuring of enterprise governance, financial situation, and fleet are also extremely necessary.

How to measure technological level has concerned research analysists for a long time. Many methods exist, and they all have their advantages and disadvantages according to how they are used. The purpose of this study is to develop qualitative indicator to measure industrial technological level, in particular manufacturing capacity. In this indicator, the two basis of technology classification and the concept of the technology competitiveness were introduced. First, the types of technology are classified as three classes : material technology, processing technology and product technology. Second, the characteristics of technology are divided into the three categories : core technology, peripheral technology and sprouting technology On this basis, the qualitative technological level was made in terms of the competitiveness of it's manufacturing capacity. This study should be a practical approach for application of measuring of technological level.

Infinite competition on ICT industries is starting again. The basis of competence over global dominance will be human resource, a global ecosystem for products and national agenda for science and technology, etc.. This paper presents the six solution for the Global Competitiveness and Coexistence of Korean ICT Industries. Korea should nurture the brand of "World Best Korean ICT Forever" to secure technical competency of ICT related fields in global market. All ICT technologies should be aligned to global standard and market demand from beginning and the ecosystem around product needs to be established. System framework for utilizing the resource of core SW experts must be established. Through global partnership with China as manufacturing base for Korea-developed products, technical competency can be maintained including product planning. Security measure for technical assets is mandatory. Finally, core technology that will drive the future of ICT industries in Korea should be regarded as core subjects.

This study aims to look into how we Korean ports can improve NODE competitiveness among northern-east region of Asia, and to examine a conceptual as well as practical methodology approach to be applied in terms of cluster. Also many other researches have done to take out the conclusion, which is environmental aspects as economic and logistical one in terms of northern-east region of Asia, basic concept with NODE, and matters concerning seaport from the viewpoint of hub-spoke, etc. Then finally it is suggested that we Korea has to concentrate on seaport, which is equipped with logistics cluster provide into value added logistics, in order to keep and gain the NODE competitiveness in northern-east region of Asia.

Capital cost of ships for advanced maritime countries is generally regarded as an international cost, which is, or can be, irrelevant with respect to the nationality of shipowners. However, Korean shipowners have been not only forced by national laws and regulations to build their ships at Korean shipyards, but also restricted to access to foreign financial markets. Having said that, as far as Korean shipowners are concerned, the capital cost has become a national cost. Consequently, it causes them to lower International competitiveness. This paper aims to identify the causes deteriorating international competitiveness of Korean shipping with reference to capital costs and suggest constructive proposals.

We analyze competitiveness of material and component industry(MCI) of Korea, China and Japan using trade data, OECD ITCS database with HS-code system. We use unit price indices, export unit price index, import unit price index, and TOT unit price index. These indices provide quality information from trade data of value and quantity. Our results show that there are quality gaps among three countries, and that China expand development potential, and the results vary as sectors. It implies that R&D investment to improve quality of MCI products is essential and that sector-specific policy is necessary.

The study carried out a survey with employees of hospitals located in Daejeon, Chungnam, and Chungbuk from Sep. 12 to Sep. 30, 2005 in order to derive primary elements that affect the improvement of hospital's competitiveness. The study investigated and analyzed the employees' recognition on the change of competitive environment caused by the change of medical environment. The study also analyzed the elements that affect the hospital's competitiveness and the competitive strategies of the hospitals. The conclusion of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. Summary 1) Most of the employees responded that there is a rival in the competitive environment and the competitive is intense. Especially when the employees are married, live in urban areas, have an education level of university graduate or are managers, they tend to think the competitive is very intense. Also, they said that the competitive is based upon the quality of medical service. They mentioned the element that has the biggest effect on the competitiveness is the element of medical consumer and they recognized that the medical services in university and general hospitals have more competitiveness than the one-department hospitals. 2) It was investigated that the medical technique service has the most effect on the hospital's competitiveness. Also, the external service of medical techniques also has a large effect on the hospital's competitiveness. 3) When they were asked for the factors that affect the patients' decision on selecting a hospital, most of them responded "capability and technique of the medical staffs." Also, they said that "sufficient explanation from doctors" and "special center and clinic" are the factors that have big effects on the patients' decision. 4) In the SWOT analysis, most of them responded that the strength is the hospital's characteristics and the weakness is insufficient and obsolete equipment. They said the opportunity is the demands for professional medical service and the risk is the intense competitive among the hospitals. 5) In the SWOT strategy, they emphasized the strategy that uses the opportunity and the strength and the strategy that uses the opportunity while overcoming the weakness. 6) As for the basic competition strategy, most of them thought of the strategy of professionalizing the medical service most importantly. Next, they focused on the strategy of distinct service and the strategy of lower prime cost. 2. Conclusion 1) Because service competition between hospitals is happening seriously, need competitiveness security through right awareness transfer and satisfaction upgrade about medical consumer. 2) For medical technique service upgrade that equip Hospital's competitiveness but affects most, must solidify the countermeasure because professionalizing the medical service and newest medical technique induction should be achieved first, and compose task force for the external service of medical techniques improvement. 3) To improve SWOT of hospital, opportunity and the strength strategy choice that rescue hospital's characteristics heightening professionalizing the medical service level is fancied. 4) As for the basic competition strategy, will have to try in phase triangular position of hospital which is trusted medical level upgrade and excellent manpower security and finance independence through upgrade. The study was only done with hospitals in Daejeon, Chungnam and Chungbuk. Also, it is a study from the side of suppliers of medical service so there are limitations. However, the significance of the study is to present the basic data for improvement of hospital's competitiveness by examining the importance of medical techniques and external service of medical techniques that are the main effects on the improvement of hospital's competitiveness.
