  • 반도체 생산에서 암모니아는 정밀성을 요구하는 공정 특히, 광증폭 공정에서 산과 반응하여 불량을 일으키는 주 원인이며, 고메모리로 갈수록 청정도 기준이 엄격해져서 1 ppbv 이하의 농도를 검출할 수 있는 기술이 요구되고 있다. 현재 반도체 회사에서의 암모니아 분석은 임핀저를 이용하여 가스를 포집한 후 이온크로마토그래피로 분석 하고 있으나, 이는 많은 시간과 인력이 요구되며, 실시간 분석이 어렵기 때문에 반도체 클린룸의 관리에 어려움이 있다. (중략)

  • 각종 연소기반의 오염 배출원에서의 수은을 비롯한 중금속의 배출은 많은 우려를 낳고있다. 이미 미국에서는 1990년 Clean Air Act Amendments를 통해 11개의 중금속의 (As, Be, Cd, Co, Cr, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, and Se) 배출을 가장 효과적인 적용 가능한 기술로서 그 배출을 제어하도록 되어있다. 그 중에서도 특히 수은은 다른 중금속과는 달리 높은 휘발성, 강한 유해성, 그리고 체내에 축적이 되는 특성으로 해서 더욱 관심의 대상이 되고 있다. 또한 수은은 연소장치에서 대기중으로 배출시 다른 중금속이 입자의 형태로 배출되는 것과는 달리 주로 원소상태의 기체로 배출되는 것으로 알려져 있다.   • Using the CNG(compressed natural gas) and LPG(liquified petroleum gas) as the automotive fuel will be expanded because of their clean effect to the environmental air qualify. But these programs of gas using expansion would have a difficulty due to public consideration of gas utilities as a big hazard. The Ministry of Environment has an ambitious plan to substitute more than 25,000 buses with CNG and ensure more than 200 CNG refueling stations as well by the year of 2007. However, it is very difficult to establish new CNG and LPG refueling stations because of expanded safety distance than ever before by several major explosion accidents.

  • The review of the present status of Korean industries and the establishment of strategic R&D agenda are necessary to improve the innovative technological capabilities of Korea to the top level of the world. Recently, Korean ministry of science and technology (MOST) has selected specific areas to develop national technological innovation system, and prepared national technology roadmap (NTRM). Korean ministry of environment (ME) also has prepared technology roadmap (TRM) to help efficient development of environmental science and technology. The development of eco-friendly process in NTRM and TRM was introduced and reviewed in this study. In addition, strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of technological capabilities of Korea was performed. The results propose the core role of industry, university, research institute, and government for the development of Korean environmental process technology.

  • In the millenium, which will be characterized by its global culture, a strong sense of identity of one's culture is needed to nature one's culture in a way that more people can participate in creating, enjoying and consuming it. In order to respond to both globalization and localization, natural and cultural backgrounds of such should be considered in the conversation of nature, so that the optical and color environment can have local identity while undergoing sustainable development. Therefore, the objective of this research is to enhance the image of a city, which is endowed with beautiful scenery and unique culture, but has lost its identity since industrialization An through a scientific and systematic color planning The Research was conducted as follows. First, color environment which doesn't reflect local characteristics due to modernism which emphasizes on uniformity was examined. Second, standard and analysis of environment color planning were examined. Natural color specimen was use to make a palette of nature colors, from which colors for architecture were extracted to come up with color combination types. Without traditional architecture philosophy, materials and colors, which were once in harmony with the environment, it is impossible to clean up the environment all together. However by using colors to control new city plans, urban redevelpment, construction and renovation gradually, that process can be effective and less costly.

  • An integrated real-time monitoring software for coastal environment has been developed by using GUI. The system consists of modeling module, real-time monitoring module, and post-processing module of the modeling and monitoring results. The system was applied to a port construction site. The main purpose for the system is to setup the information system that user can obtain the environmental information easily and quickly. The system can be used to monitor environmental changes due to construction activities in coastal waters and to assess environmental impacts accurately in real-time. In conclusion, the system will be a good tool for finding out countermeasures to lessen water pollution and clean seawater.

  • The metals such as Al, Ag, Au, Cu, Cd, Co, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn, etc are present at very low concentration in seawater and are classified as so-called trace metals. Whiles some of them are used in metabolism of living organism as a micronutrient, they may show toxic effects on organisms in case of a limited threshold concentration of them Plenty of studies on trace metals have been performed bemuse trace metals have a persistent influence and an adverse effect on marine environment and ecosystem. For long years, when the concentration of trace metals in natural waters such as seawater and fresh water are measured with high precision and accuracy, some systematic errors have been recognized to be present in measurements. Since 1975 in US and European countries, the measured concentration of trace metals in seawater have been found to be lower by factors of 10-1,000 than the previous data of trace metals measurements and the vertical profiles of the measurements have been shown to reflect well-known biological, physical and geochemical processes. These results are attributed to great advances in analytical instrumentation and methodology for trace metals measurements. Precautions against the contamination of samples are required to be taken in the process of sampling, storage, and analysis of samples. However, in Korea, erroneous data of trace metals with regard to ocean and marine environment related survey and investigations are reported The lock of exact understanding and information regarding precautions in sampling, storage and analysis of samples lead to the deterioration of data quality, especially in the analysis of trace metals. The major procedures to obtain the accurate data of trace metals in natural waters are introduced for applying to the study and assessment of marine environments.
