  • This study investigates the evolution of concrete damage due to chloride-induced steel corrosion through Impact-echo (IE) testing. Three reinforced concrete specimens, each measuring 1500 mm in length, 400 mm in width, and 200 mm in thickness, were fabricated using three concrete mixture proportions of blended cement types: ordinary Portland cement, ground granulated blast-furnace slag and fly ash. Steel corrosion in the concrete was accelerated by impressing a 0.5 A current following a 35-day cycle of wet-and-dry saturation in a 3% NaCl solution. Initial IE data collected during the saturation phase showed no significant changes, indicating that moisture had a minimal impact on IE signals and highlighting the slow progress of corrosion under natural conditions. Post-application of current, however, there was a noticeable decline in both IE peak frequency and the P-wave velocity in the concrete as the duration of the impressed current increased. Remarkably, progressive monitoring of IE proves highly effective in capturing the critical features of steel-corrosion induced concrete deterioration, such as the onset of internal damages and the rate of damage propagation. These results demonstrate the potential of progressive IE data monitoring to enhance the reliability of diagnosing and prognosticating the evolution of concrete damage in marine environment.

  • Around the world, many countries experiencing the issue of shrinking cities are continually expanding high-speed rail networks to enhance regional accessibility and address imbalances. This study analyzed the effects of high-speed train operations on the age-specific population migration in South Korean municipalities from 2012 to 2019, taking into account the risk levels of shrinking cities. For this purpose, an analysis was conducted using age-specific net in-migration population as the dependent variable, employing the spatial panel autoregressive model. The research results indicated that the influence of high-speed rail on regional population inflow varies depending on the risk level of shrinking city. In other words, high-speed railway operations had positive effects on population inflow in the capital areas and some major cities, while explained population outflow in the other regions. High-speed railways particularly exerted a significant impact on the inflow of the young and middle-aged population, representing the working age, but this effect was also limited to regions with a low risk of shrinkage. The findings of this study emphasize the importance of considering planned population and industrial attraction when installing high-speed rail with the goal of achieving regional balanced development and mitigating shrinkage. The results of this study also suggest the need for subsequent research to explore factors that positively influence population structure and inflow based on the level of shrinkage risk in each region, as well as the introduction of new policies tailored to the specific situations of each local government.

  • Smart tourism aims to maximize the utilization of local tourism resources, effectively manages cities and contributes to improving communication and quality of life between tourists and residents. Therefore, smart tourism emphasizes synergistic collaboration, considering both residents and tourists. This study explores smart tourism interaction and roles in enhancing regional competitiveness. By conducting thorough examination, focusing on integrating the four key elements of smart tourism city (smart experience, smart convenience, smart accessibility, and smart platform) with local residents, local businesses, regional resources, and ecosystem to foster positive synergies, Incheon smart tourism city project was employed as a single case study design. Research results indicate that the collaborative model of a smart tourism city positively impacts service satisfaction and strengthens regional tourism competitiveness. Building upon these results, this study aims to contribute to the development of smart tourism cities by proposing directions for future development and emphasizing the enhancement of regional competitiveness through the integration of smart technology and local tourism.

  • Korean local governments operates the participatory budgeting system autonomously. This study is to classify these entities into clusters. Among the diverse machine learning methodologies(Neural Network, Rule Induction(CN2), KNN, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, SVM, Naïve Bayes), the Support Vector Machine technique emerged as the most efficacious in the analysis of 2022 Korean municipalities data. The first cluster C1 is characterized by minimal committee activity but a substantial allocation of participatory budgeting; another cluster C3 comprises cities that exhibit a passive stance. The majority of cities falls into the final cluster C2 which is noted for its proactive engagement in. Overall, most Korean local government operates the participatory busgeting system in good shape. Only a small number of cities is less active in this system. We anticipate that analyzing time-series data from the past decade in follow-up studies will further enhance the reliability of classifying local government types regarding participatory budgeting.

According to this, occurrence of large cutting slope is formed necessarily Cutting slope are very weak real condition because of concentrative downpour and can know easily by example of typhoon Rusa. This study did helpful in slope design and carrying out suitable reinforcing method.

  • We investigated the actual usefulness of bathrooms in individuals living in apartment. We performed a randomized matched questionaire study involving 487 individuals who use a unit-bathroom and live in apartment in Taegu and it's rural cities for the period from May to June, 2000. Most of the individuals used bathroom for washing behavior of daily living, such as, washing hands, feet, face, and hair, except bathing, Almost all the individuals reported some complaints about the height and size of wash-stand when they wash face or hair, And most of the individuals does not use the bath-tube when they shower or bathe.

  • Understanding the flow circulation is of primary importance for studies of marine ecology and Pollution protection etc. However the circulation in coastal area is complicated with various processes and can not be considered as forced only by tides. The coastal area off South China is now playing an important role in economic development in southeast Asia with Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou and other cities situated in its central part (Fig. 1). • Pedestrian assemblage is now a normal phenomenon in modern cities. To maintain an unblocked traffic situation, protect the pedestrians' safety and make preparedness for any emergencies is an important task for police department. Modeling pedestrian dynamics and simulating evacuation process can provide useful information for make accurate decisions. In this paper, by virtue of geographic information technologies, the authors proposed a conceptual framework to simulate pedestrian dynamics and evacuation in an open urban environment.

  • The demand for multimedia service using Ka-band satellite communication are growing rapi이y. So, in this paper, we have analyzed rain attenuation with typical model, and proposed prediction model of rain attenuation in high frequency(over 20[GHz]). Path loss model by rain attenuation is based upon rain rate of representative region(6 cities). Proposed prediction model of rain attenuation and parameter of satellite link can be available for the Ka-band satellite communication.
