보육교사 대상 방문 및 스마트폰 앱 기반 감염예방교육 프로그램 효과: 비무작위 대조군설계 (Effect of Visiting and a Smartphone Application Based Infection Prevention Education Program for Child Care Teachers: A Non-Randomized Controlled Trial)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to develop an infection prevention education program for child care teachers and to verify its effects. Methods: The study was conducted using a nonequivalent control group with a pretest-posttest design. Four private daycare centers (2 centers per city) that were alike in terms of the number of children by age, number of child care teachers, and child care environment were chosen. Participants were assigned to the experimental group (n=20) or control group (n=20). As a part of the program, visiting education (90 min) was provided in the 1st week, and smartphone application education (10 min) was provided thrice a week, in the 2nd and 3rd weeks. Results: Child care teachers' self-efficacy for infection prevention revealed a significant interaction effect between the group and time of measurement (F=21.62, p<.001). In terms of infection prevention behavior, a significant difference was observed between the experimental and control groups (z=-5.36, p<.001). Conclusion: The program implemented in this study was effective in improving the infection prevention self-efficacy and infection prevention behavior of child care teachers. Thus, this program may be effective in enhancing their infection control.

일-가정 균형을 위한 지역사회의 자녀 돌봄 지원 실태에 대한 연구 -서울, 경기지역 맞벌이 가정을 중심으로 (The Study on Supporting Situation of the Community Child Care Service for the Work-Family Balance - Focused on Dual Income Families Living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province)

  • The purpose of this study is to research support systems of the community child care services for optimum work-family balance. For this purpose, the questionnaire to be completed combined four areas: the workplace, school, community and home. Then questions concerning demographic factors and community-related aspects were analysed for this article. After analyzing 197 questionnaires, supplementary questions were asked, by interview to 10 samples. Full-time working wives (eg. working from 9am to 6pm) who have 1 or more children under 10 years old, living in Seoul and Gyeonggi province were collected as samples. The results were as follows: First, child care from family and relatives, and community services was properly used during the week, but dual working parents took complete charge of child care on Saturdays. Second, emergency child care was usually provided by the family, while relatives and community child care services were used less. Third, parents spent 17% of their monthly income on total child care expenditure. Fourth, community child care services were not used often, but the level of satisfaction with them was very high. Finally, they used relatives' services for safety reasons and community services for location, and only based on informed decisions. Therefore, Saturday child care programmes need to be initiated to help physically and mentally tired parents, with more general provision of positive and diverse public support systems.

아버지의 영아 돌봄에 관한 문헌연구 (A Study of father's care giving in infancy)

  • These days social and economical changes have influence on the structure of family and the role of family members. Working mothers and widowers with children are increasing because of economical difficulties. Support from relatives are decreasing because of the conspicuous trend toward nuclear families. According to these reasons androgynous fathers are required. Today's fathers in Korea socially and culturally have learned about traditional parenting, but they are changing their fathering styles to meet the demands of the times. However they don't have their own fathering models. Therefore nurses who hold an advantageous position to teach and support from clinic have to encourage them to care their infants. The purposes of this study were to define father's care giving in infancy, understand influencing factors on fathering, and the differences between fathering and mothering, then contribute to nursing implementation for supporting fathers. This study was designed to review references about father's care giving. The results were follows: Six aspects of parent participation were direct care. indirect care, play, decision-making concerning the child, amount of time of sole responsibility for the child and overall availability to the child. Direct care involved feeding, bathing, going to child if child awakens. dressing, putting child to bed, taking child to doctor, nurse, or dentist, transporting child to and from sitter, day care, or school, washing child's hair. Indirect care involved cleaning up after child, preparing child's food, fixing child's broken playthings, washing child's clothes, arranging baby-sitting, shopping for child's toys and clothes, transporting baby-sitter to and from your home. Young fathers were gradually participating in direct care like feeding, taking child to doctor. Father's care giving stimulated mothering and promoted parent-infant relationship. Influencing factors of fathering would be divided into father characteristics, surrounding factors, infant attributes. Father characteristics were age, role perception, relationship with parent. Surrounding factors were the opportunity of early contact, support system, spouse's expectation, marital adjustment, feeding type, past experience of care giving. Infant attributes were temperament, behavior, age, sex. The differences between fathering and mothering were reviewed. Fathers were poor at care giving. but their caring was similar to mother's. This subtle difference positively worked upon infant's growth and development. On the basis of these theoretical data, nurses can empower fathers to cooperate with mothers in caring infants.

초등학생 방과후 돌봄 서비스 분석과 개선방안 (Analysis of an After-school Care Service Program for Elementary School Children and Suggestions for Improvement)

  • The purpose of this research is to suggest some measures to improve policy issues by analyzing policy related to a child care service program in the community. Gilbert and Terrell's social policy analysis framework is used to analyze an after-school care service program for elementary school children. Furthermore, the Elementary Care Class(including the After-school Program), Youth After-school Academy, and Community Child Center, referred to as public care services, are employed to analyze community care service programs for children. The Elementary Care Class, Youth After-school Academy and Community Child Center are very similar in terms of the contents and application of the care service program for children, and mainly serve children in low-income groups. In addition, although user overlapping is an inevitable problem because the operating time of the Elementary Care Class and After-school Program coincides with that of the Youth After-school Academy and Community Child Center, it is structurally very hard to adjust the content of service, operating time, and so on because of differences in the delivery system for each program. Therefore, it is necessary to generate a unified delivery system to manage after-school care service programs for children and create a new special control tower to solve these problems. Furthermore, it is needed to extend the services to children from general double-income family, which is a blind spot of the care service.

아동양육시설 보육사가 경험한 통합보육 다면성 (Multifaceted Aspect of Inclusive Care Experienced by Residential Child Care Staffs)

  • 본 연구는 아동양육시설 보육사가 경험한 통합보육을 통해 통합보육의 다면성과 성공적 통합보육 수행 방향을 제시하고자 했다. 아동양육시설에서 통합보육을 경험한 10명의 보육사를 연구 참여자로 선정하여 질적 사례연구방법에 따라 전사 자료를 분석했다. 보육사들은 통합보육 수행에 거부감을 나타내고 있었으며, 통합보육 적응과정에서 장애아동과 비장애아동 모두에게 충분한 돌봄을 제공할 수 없어 죄책감을 느끼고 있었다. 그들은 아동에게 필요한 지원을 제때에 받을 수 있도록 행정기관과의 즉각적 소통의 창구 마련, 장애아동 케어와 관련한 보육사 교육지원 및 특수교사 파견 등을 원하고 있으며, 3교대 정책에 대해서는 모두 반대의견으로 나타났다. 또한 아동양육시설에서의 통합보육 다면성에 따른 지원방안으로서 보육사의 처우와 급여 문제, 시설보호아동들의 교육 기회와 양육환경 문제에 대한 사회 전반의 관심을 환기 하는데 있어 향후 연구 방향을 추가로 모색할 수 있을 것으로 기대해본다.

가정외보호 아동의 양육자 관계와 교우관계의 상호 영향: 자기회귀교차지연모형을 활용한 종단연구 (The Reciprocal Relationship between Caregiver Relations and Peer Relations of Children in Out-of-home Care: Longitudinal Study Using Autoregressive Cross-lagged Modeling)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the longitudinal causal relationship between caregiver relations and peer relations of children in out-of-home care. We analyzed the three years(2011-2013) of longitudinal data from the Panel Study on Korean Children in Out-of-Home Care. The autoregressive cross-lagged model (ARCL) was used to measure the longitudinal causal relationship between caregiver relations and peer relations. As a result, first, caregiver relations and peer relations showed stability over time. In other words, the results of the measurement at three time points showed that the caregiver relations and peer relations at the previous time had a significant effect on the caregiver relations and peer relations at the later time point. Second, the previous caregiver relations had a significant effect on the subsequent peer relations over time. Third, the previous peer relations had a significant effect on the subsequent caregiver relations over time. This study confirmed the interrelationships of caregiver relations and peer relations of children in care by examining the longitudinal data using the longitudinal analysis method.

영아의 발달과 어머니의 양육지식 및 아버지의 양육참여에 관한 연구 - 보육실태 및 계획과 관련하여 - (Infant Development, mother's parenting knowledge and father's participation of child - rearing - in rearing in relation with current state and future plan of child-care -)

  • This study investigates the infant's cognitive and motor development, mother's parenting knowledge, and father's participation of child-rearing according to demographic variables and child-care related variables. A total of 112 infants aged from 11.5 months to 12.5 months old were tested by Korean Bayley Scales of Infant Development II; in addition, their mothers participated in the survey. The major results were as follows: First, among five areas of parenting knowledge, mothers attained the highest score on socio-emotional development and the lowest on cognitive and language development. Second, fathers participation in child-rearing were related to their income and the time to start child-care center. Third, the development of infants were positively associated with the father's participation in child-rearing. The implications for designing child-care policy and parent education program were discussed.

보육교사와 학령전기 아동 어머니의 아동 건강증진 교육요구 (Needs for Children's Health Promotion Education as Perceived by Child Care Center Teachers and Mothers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the needs for children's health promotion education programs as perceived by child care center teachers and mothers. Methods: This study conducted a survey of 88 child care center teachers and 70 mothers of preschool children in Seoul from January 4 to February 5, 2016. This study aimed to characterize the current conditions of health promotion education for preschool children and the needs for health promotion education as perceived by child care center teachers and mothers of preschool children. Results: Areas of high need for health promotion education included lifestyle improvements for preventing diseases in children and awareness of the importance of health in educational objectives, standardized educational manuals, health educators as educators, child care centers as educational places, local health centers as educational support organizations, regular class hours as educational time, role play for training, and actual models in the educational medium. The educational subjects for which a high need was reported included safety and accident prevention, the role of smartphones and TV watching in mental health, and personal hygiene and disease prevention. Conclusion: These findings suggest that it is necessary to develop a health promotion education program for preschool children.

부부의 시간배분 결정요인: 맞벌이 부부를 중심으로 (Determinant Factors of Time Allocation within Married Couple)

  • 본 연구는 "2014 생활시간조사" 데이터를 이용하여 부부의 시간배분 결정요인에 대하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 대체로 남편의 육아 및 가사시간은 아내에 비하여 매우 적은 것으로 나타났으며, 아내의 임금이 높고, 어린 자녀가 있을 경우 남편의 육아 및 가사시간이 증가하였다. 아내 시간배분의 경우는 주로 배우자(남편)의 임금에 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났는데, 남편의 임금이 증가할수록 아내의 노동시간은 감소하며, 가사시간은 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 육아시간은 아내와 남편 모두의 임금에 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 아내의 임금이 증가할 경우에 남편의 육아 가사시간이 같이 증가하는 경향이 있었다. 시간배분의 상관관계에서 아내의 노동시간과 남편의 가사시간은 보완관계에 있었으나, 아내와 남편의 가사시간은 대체관계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 곧 아내가 일을 많이 하여 생긴 가사일의 부족분을 남편이 채우게 되지만, 집안일을 부부의 누군가가 한다면 다른 한 쪽은 안하게 된다는 것을 의미한다. 그러나 주말에는 이러한 관계가 크게 변하게 되는 것을 발견할 수 있었다.

교사의 전문성 인식, 유아의 성별 및 보육기간과 유아의 사회적 상호작용 행동 (Relationships between teacher's recognition of professionalism, child's gender, term care and child's social interaction behavior)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze how teachers' recognition of professionalism and the child's gender and term care affect child's social interaction behavior. Participants were three-year-old 61 children and their 20 teachers. Each child was observed by the time sampling method of 20 sec-observation followed by 10 sec-recording for a total of 14 minutes. The teachers completed the rating scales to measure the teachers' recognition of professionalism. The study results show that, children engaged more frequently in individual behavior than in interactions with peers or with teachers in day care centers. And those children had more interaction behavior with their teachers than with their peers. Correlation between teachers' recognition of professionalism and children's social interaction behavior were as following: the more the teachers recognized professionalism, the more the children showed positive interaction behavior toward their teachers. Also, the more the teachers recognized the professionalism related to the job satisfaction, the more the children showed positive interaction behavior toward their peers. Boys interacted more negatively with peers and teachers than girls did. Children who attended the day care center more than two years showed less individual behaviors than others.
