  • The runoff from an urban catchment is increased because of the gravitation of the population towards cities. For this reason, water level increment in confluence area makes it impossible to drain internal water and thus produces flood out in upstream areas. In this study, flow variations of main channel are measured which is caused by combining storm sewer into main channel in small watershed. Depth increment in main stream is analyzed due to flowrate and slope in main channel and flowrate, slope is getting steeper, and also due to low flowrate in main stream and high flowrate in tributrary channel. For the degree of confluence, depth ratio decreases when the degree is getting small. As mentioned above, main factors influencing the depth ratio increment of confluence channel are in the order of the degree of confluence, and the flowrate of tributary channel and main channel.

  • The existing methods to estimate the maximum scour depth in the bend of steep gravel bed channel have been evaluated by the hydraulic movable-bed experiments. In the $90^{\circ}$ bend steep-slope channel paved with the fluvial gravels which are uniform in size and have a mean diameter of 43mm, the maximum scour depths due to the flow discharge and the gradient of bed slope have been investigated and compared with the scour depth computed from the equations. The local scour has occurred in conditions that the bed slope is steeper than 0.02 and the $F_r$ is greater than 0.95. Except Lacey's equation and Zeller's equation, the existing methods computing the maximum scour depth overestimate the maximum scour depth in the steep channel with the very coarse gravel bed. However, Lacey's equation with the bed material size and Zeller's equation considering the approach channel gradient and the bend angle may be relatively used to estimate the scour depth in bend of the steep gravel-bed river.

  • In this paper, we have fabricated the hydrogenated n-channel polysilicon thin film transistor (TFT) with LDD structure and have analyzed the hot carrier degradation characteristics by electrical stress. We have compared the threshold voltage (Vth), sub-threshold slope (S), and trans-conductance (Gm) for devices with LDD (Lightly Doped Drain) structure and non-LDD at same active sizes. We have analyzed the hot carrier effects by the hydrogenation in devices. As a analyzed results, the threshold voltage, sub-threshold slope for n-channel poly-si TFT were increased, trans-conductance was decreased. The effects of hydrogenation in n-channel poly-si TFT with LDD structure were shown the lower variations of characteristics than devices of the non-LDD structure with nomal process.

  • High-performance full swing logic inverters were fabricated using amorphous 1 wt% Si doped indium-zinc-oxide (a-SIZO) thin films with different channel layer thicknesses. In the inverter configuration, the threshold voltage was adjusted by varying the thickness of the channel layer. The depletion mode (D-mode) device used a TFT with a channel layer thickness of 60 nm as it exhibited the most negative threshold voltage (-1.67 V). Inverters using enhancement mode (E-mode) devices were fabricated using TFTs with channel layer thicknesses of 20 or 40 nm with excellent subthreshold slope (S.S). Both the inverters exhibited high voltage gain values of 30.74 and 28.56, respectively at $V_{DD}=15V$. It was confirmed that the voltage gain can be improved by increasing the S.S value.

  • The streams evolve to diverse forms influenced by various factors such as rock resistance tectonic process, sediments and discharge. This study focuses on erosion resistance of rocks among these factors. The morphology of plane and longitudinal profile has been analysed in upper and lower reach of 6 streams using GIS; Yeoryong-cheon, Heungjeong-cheon, Duhak-cheon, Daehwa-cheon, Namcheon-cheon, Guryong-cheon, having distinct bedrock types between upper and lower reach. While the basins of granite have gentle slope, low concavity and wide valley area, those of gneiss form steep slope, high concavity and narrow valley area. However, the basins of sedimentary rock make steep slope and high relief in main channel, the other features show some differences in each stream. Among the various morphological features, the indices on slope and concavity of main channel, drainage density, ratio of valley area, average slope and average relief of the basin which have clear differences between rocks in upper and lower reach are calculated to interpret the erosion resistance of rocks in upper and lower reach. As a result, the upper reaches composed of gneiss have the highest erosion resistance, sedimentary rocks in upper and lower reaches show moderate resistance, and granite reaches generally have the lowest resistance except the upper reaches bordered by sedimentary rock.

  • Channel network delineation from DEM (Digital Elevation Model) is a fundamental pre-process for hydrologic model application since it determines the drainage system in a watershed. This study aims to propose an effective and efficient channel network delineation process and assess the effects of DEM-based channel networks on the watershed drainage system. For these objectives, we applied two methods to generate the channel networks of the Jinan-cheon catchment with $18.28km^2$ from the 20 m resolution DEM: a widely-used area-threshold method and a slope-area threshold method based on the relationship between contributing areas and local slopes. The results showed that the area-threshold method led to unreliable drainage system, which did not satisfy geomorphological laws with respect to drainage density and source area representation whereas the slope-area threshold method provided acceptable results under the geomorphological laws. Our suggestions in this study can give valuable pre-processing information in DEM-based hydrologic modeling.

  • In this paper, we propose the calibration method of monopulse slope to minimize the variation of angle estimate in frequency agile noncoherent monopulse system. We analyze the monopulse slope characteristics of antenna and RF receiver including the phase and gain imbalances of each receiving channel and present the calibration method to minimize the phase and gain imbalances of RF receiver channels including antenna. In addition, we present the calibration method using channel switching to minimize the gain imbalance of IF receiver channels. The measured average monopulse slope within the frequency bandwidth is -0.96, the maximum variation of angle estimate is similar to theoretical value, $0.15^{\circ}$ at ${\pm}2^{\circ}$ azimuth and $0.03^{\circ}$ at $0^{\circ}$ azimuth.

  • The objective of this study is to examine the effect of hydrological factors on critical durations, and to analyze the relationship between the watershed characteristics and the critical duration of design rainfall in the medium sized catchments. Hydrological factors are used to return period, probable intensity formula, hydrograph method, effective rainfall and temporal pattern of design rainfall. Hydrologic analysis has done over the 44 medium sized catchments with $50{\sim}5,000{\beta}{\yen}$. Watershed characteristics such as catchment area, channel length, channel slope, catchment slope, time to peak, concentration of time and curve number were used to simulate correlation analysis. All of hydrological factors except return period influence to the critical duration of design rainfall. Also, it is revealed that critical duration is influenced by the watershed characteristics such as area, channel length, channel slope and catchment slope. Multiple regression analysis using watershed characteristics is carried out for the estimation of relationship among these. And the 7 type equations are proposed by the multiple regression using watershed characteristics and critical duration of design rainfall. The determination coefficient of multiple regression equations shows $0.96{\sim}0.97$.

  • Channel-forming discharge for downstream section of Yeongju dam in Naesung stream was calculated to analyze stable channel geometry. Determined channel-forming discharge was applied to design stable channel slope, depth, and base width at Yonghyeol station. Used data for channel-forming discharge and stable channel analysis were collected in downstream section of Yeongju dam in Naesung stream before the dam construction. Specified recurrence interval discharge, effective discharge, and bankfull discharge were analyzed and compared to decide final channel-forming discharge which was $260m^3/s$ of bankfull discharge. Stable channel analysis and design program was applied to predict stable channel section of width, depth, and slope with various sediment transport equations of Ackers and White, Brownlie, Engelund and Hansen, and Yang's equations. As a result, all equations of sediment transport produced milder slopes compared to current bed slope of 0.00177 and Ackers and White equation presented the most similar flow depth of current section with the design constraint of current channel width.
