  • Coal ash generated from thermal power plants has been used as alternative raw material for cement production. But when using buried coal ash, careful attention is needed because it contains some amount of moisture and chlorides which can cause problems in production process. In this project, cement production process and quality control technology for using buried coal ash as cement raw material has been being developed.

  • Hydration products formed on the steel surface may impose the resistance to corrosion of steel when a concrete is exposed to a salt environment. In the present study, ordinary Portland cement (OPC), calcium aluminate cement (CAC) and calcium hydroxide are applied as coating materials on the steel surface to consider the hydrations of each binder at corrosion. Corrosion is measured in terms of the corrosion potential and galvanic current to detect the effects in mitigating the corrosion behavior.

  • The effects of polymer-cement ratio and recycled aggregate content on the continuous void ratio, coefficient of permeablity, compressvie, tensile and flexural strengths of water-permeable polymer-modified concretes using recycled aggregate are examined. As a result, the continuous void ratio and coefficient of permeablity of the water-permeable polymer-modified concretes tend to decrease with increasing polymer-binder ratio. Regardless of the recycled aggregate content, the compressvie, tensile and flexural strengths of the water-permeable polymer-modified concretes wtend to increase with increasing polymer-cement ratio.

  • In this study utilize industry product for OPC(ordinary portland cement) and BFS(blast furnace slag) mixing concrete early age compressive strength elevation and executed study for high strength binder. Association ratio of industry product for high strength binder manufacture is Titanogypsum (4) : Limestone (3) : Waterworks Sludge by ratio of (3) as it is proper move. high strength binder mixing rate appeared that (7~9) % are proper via preliminary test. Could confirm that display high compressive strength incidence rate in early age than plain harmony according as mix high strength binder mixing concrete compressive strength high strength binder. Also, high strength binder generality that give function than high strength binder used in existing displayed more excellent intensity, and compressive strength displayed result that multiply single breadth according as high strength binder substitute that give function increases.

  • The effects of fly ash and superplasticizer (SP) on workability of concrete are quite difficult to predict because they are dependent on other concrete ingredients. Because of high complexity of the relations between workability and concrete compositions, conventional regression analysis could be not sufficient to build an accurate model. In this study, a workability model has been built using artificial neural networks (ANN). In this model, the workability is a function of the content of all concrete ingredients, including cement, fly ash, blast furnace slag, water, superplasticizer, coarse aggregate, and fine aggregate. The effects of water/binder ratio (w/b), fly ash-binder ratio (fa/b), superplasticizer-binder ratio (SP/b), and water content on slump were explored by the trained ANN. This study led to the following conclusions: (1) ANN can build a more accurate workability model than polynomial regression. (2) Although the water content and SP/b were kept constant, a change in w/b and fa/b had a distinct effect on the workability properties. (3) An increasing content of fly ash decreased the workability, while raised the slump upper limit that can be obtained.

  • It is known that cement production not only consumes large amount of energy but also contributes substantially to the green house gas emission. Therefore, there is a demand to develope a new technology to produce energy efficient and environmental conscious cements. The most recent, wood wool ceramic board is being applied in various building material field, for example thermal insulating and acoustic absorption material. This paper focused on improvement of alumino-silicate binder's physical properties for wood wool ceramic board. As the result of this experiment, what we could obtain best fitted alumino-silicate binder's properties such as initial setting time, flow and compressive strength of 3 days aged, was 58min, 110% and 66.0Mpa. This result can be applicable to commercial wood wool ceramic board.

  • The objective of this study is to develop the prototype system for microwave heating in a manufacture process of alkali activated Hwangtoh binder as replacement materials for the cement in concrete. In order to achieve this, four research phases are carried out as follows: 1) establishment of a system concept 2) deduction of a system element 3) design of the entire system 4) making of the prototype system for microwave heating.

  • Six alkali-activated(AA) concrete mixes were tested to ascertain the effect of unit binder content on the slump and compressive strength of concrete. Test results showed that the compressive strength of AA-concrete increased with the increase of the unit binder content, while the increasing rate was lower that recorded in ordinary portland cement concrete.

  • The environmental pollution problem the globally related to global warming arises, the demand for the solar power generation increases. But is generated sludge about 2tons in order to produce 1ton in the solar power generation used main material polysilicon. In this way, the arising sludge there is not method recycling and it is all discarded. Therefore, in this research, cement is not used dynamic properties tries to be analyze inorganic binder based on blast furnace slag and polysilicon sludge ratio. The appropriate replacement ratio of the experimental result polysilicon sludge was to be 8%.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the adhesion in flexure of SBR-modified mortar adding Fly Ash(FA). From the test results, the adhesion in flexure is seriously affected by polymer-binder ratios and adding content of FA. The maximum adhesion in flexure of SBR- modified mortar is about 1.46 times, the plain cement mortar. It is apparent that the adhesion in flexure of SBR-modified mortars by polymer-binder ratios is much more improved than that by adding contents of AF.
