The abalone aquaculture has been very rapidly developed in Korea. Annual production quantity was less 200 tons before 2000th, it have been increased to over 9,000 tons in 2014. Also Abalone export amounts have been over 20 million dollars. The reason of rapid growth of Abalone aquaculture in Korea is due to high level profit ratio. Then now many fishing officers and other aquaculture fishers want to participate with abalone aquaculture newly. However Recent Abalone aquaculture in Korea is faced some problems. Aspects of production environmental status of fishing grounds are more aggravate, and then abalone aquaculture is exposed to various disease, and death rate of young abalone is higher. And aspect of management, the aquaculture cost is more increase. The demand of abalone also is depressing recently, this cause to come down the production price. In this viewpoint, Management analysis of abalone aquaculture in Korea is helpful for decision making of general aquaculture fisher want to participate newly. The analysis is practiced two aspects. One is index analysis, and the other is Break-even-point(BEP) analysis. The result of index analysis, average net profit rate has shown 28.0%, however the Regional difference has excessive. That is, Wando(major) has shown 39.4%, and Haenam province has shown 14.2%. On the other hand, the more scale has shown higher profit rate by aquaculture scale. And the result of BEP analysis, average has shown 93 cage number per abalone aquaculture household, and Wando(major) has shown 56 cage number, Haenam province has shown 131 cage number. The lower production abalone price of recent means higher BEP level.
Rearing environment direct effects on oviposition preference of black soldier fly(Hermetia illucens). In this study, the number of egg-filled flutes was surveyed according to the size of adult rearing cages and oviposition media of black soldier fly (BSF). The height of the adult rearing cages were fixed at 2 m and provided different sizes of width and length and released 20,000 BSF adults in the rearing cages. The mean number of BSF egg-filled flutes was 895.4 at $4{\times}4m$ cage, 876.3 at $2{\times}1m$ cage and 62.3 at $1{\times}1m$ cage. Comparison of egg-filled flutes was according to cages material of adult BSF. The mean number of egg-filled flutes were 820.7 and 604.3 at different cage materials such as mosquito net and green house film. The mean numbers of egg-filled flutes were 326.6 in green floral form, 135.2 in green corrugated cardboard and 41.0 in brown corrugated cardboard. And the mean number of egg-filled flutes were similar floral form with the corrugated cardboard was overlapped by floral form such as 57.7 and 64.7. The mean number of egg-filled flutes was 29.0 and 48.2 in 6 mm and 4 mm diameter of oviposition hole.

The authors reconstruct a mooring type underwater positioning system to measure the movement of bag-net in a set-net by long base line mode with four transponders attached on the bag-net in latitudinal and a transponder fixed on the sea bed. To confirm the practical use of the system, the field experiments were carried out at the Jaran Bay, Kosung, Kyungnam Prov., on October 6, 2000 (neap tide) and November 28, 2000 (spring tide). And the vertical oscillation of bag-net was observed with three data loggers attached on the bottom of bag-net in longitudinal on November 28, 2000. The longitudinal movement range, the latitudinal one and the vertical one of the bag-net were 3.2 m, 3.4 m and 2.1 m. respectively. At the spring tide, these variations were 7.8 m, 7.8 m and 5.0 m, respectively. The vertical oscillation range about the bottom of the bag-net at near point of the slope net, at the middle part and at far point from the slope net were 3.2 m, 3.7 m and 8.4 m, respectively. The depth of the bottom net was decreased and its vertical oscillation appeared frequently when the current speed was more than 10 cm/s and the current direction was significantly different from the longitudinal axis of the bag-net. The variation of hydrophone coordinates measured by the transponder fixed on the sea bed presents that hydrophones equipped to the frame line of the set-net could be moved within several meters due to the tidal current. The fact indicates that the compensation of hydrophone coordinates is necessary to reduce the measuring errors. The position measuring errors of x, y and z axis of the system measured in the cage of aquaculture were 0.6 m, 0.8 m, and 1.2 m, respectively. And the errors of the transponders those were close to the base lines or placed in the baselines were smaller than those of others.
The backscattered sound energy by fish depends on size and physical structure and, most important, on the presence or absence of a swimbladder. Target strength experiments of red seabream (Pagrus major) were conducted by using 38 (split-beam), 120 (split-beam) and 200 kHz (dual-beam) frequencies with live fishes confined in a net-cage and free swimming in tank without the cage, respectively. For 38, 120, and 200 kHz frequencies, target strength equations are expressed as a function of fish length:TS/sub 38kHz/=20 log/sub 1o(l)/-66.41, TS/sub 120kHz/=20 log/sub 1o(1)/-71.80, and TS/sub 200kHz/=20 log/sub 1o(1)/-73.94. To test the acoustic models by using Helmholtz-Kirchhoff ray approximation, predictions of target strength based on swimbladder morphometries are compared with target strength measurements. The target strength of whole fish depends on variations in swimbladder morphology than fish body morphology. In the mean time, when the fish is confined in the net cage, scattering length by the backscattered signal matched with the Gaussian PDF, while under the free-swimming condition, scattering length is close to the Rayleigh PDF.
An experiment was carried out to assess the effects of xylanase supplementation on the performance, net energy and gut microflora of broilers fed a wheat-based diet. Day-old male broiler chicks were allocated to two dietary treatments. Each treatment was composed of six replicate cages of seven broilers per cage. The diets were wheat-based and offered as mash. The treatments included i) basal diet deficient in metabolizable energy; and ii) basal diet supplemented with a commercial xylanase added at 4,000 U/kg feed. Bird performance, nutrient utilization and gut microbial populations were measured. Heat production and net energy were determined using an auto-control, open circuit respiration calorimetry apparatus. Results showed that exogenous xylanase supplementation improved feed conversion efficiency (p<0.05) and increased diet AME (+4.2%; p<0.05), as well as heat production (HP), net energy for production (NEp), production of $CO_2$, and consumption of $O_2$. The respiratory quotient (RQ) was also increased (p<0.01) by the addition of xylanase. NEp value was increased by 26.1% while daily heat production per kg metabolizable body weight was decreased by 26.2% when the xylanase was added. Xylanase supplementation numerically increased the ileal digestibility of protein and energy by 3 and 6 percentage units respectively (p>0.05). The ileal digestibility of hemicellulose was significantly improved by xylanase addition (p<0.05).
The objective of this study was to assess the effect of xylanase on net energy for production, performance, nutrient digestion and gut microflora of broilers fed corn/soy-based diet. Eighty-four day-old male broiler chicks were allocated to two groups receiving two treatments, respectively. Each treatment had six replicate cages with seven broilers per cage. The diets were based on corn and soybean. The treatments were: i) basal diet reduced in apparent metabolizable energy (-0.63 MJ/kg compared to commercial diet specifications); ii) basal diet supplemented xylanase at 4,000 u/kg feed. The experiment used the auto-control, open circuit respiration calorimetry apparatus to examine the heat production and net energy for production. The results revealed that xylanase supplementation did not affect growth performance and diet AME value, but increased $NE_p$ value by 18.2% (p<0.05) and decreased daily heat production per $kg^{0.75}$ by 31.7% (p<0.05). There was no effect (p>0.05) of xylanase supplementation on the ileal digestibility of N and hemicelluloses, but the ileum digestibility of energy was increased by 2% by xylanase supplementation (p<0.05). Xylanase supplementation increased (p<0.05) the count of lactobacillus and bifidobacterial in the caecum.
To determine whether the reproductive processes of sea bass, Lateolabrax japonicus, proceed normally after transportation from an outdoor net-cage into indoor tanks, we examined changes in the gonadosomatic index (GSI), histological gonadal tissue, and plasma levels of sex hormones (testosterone and estradiol-17ß) during their annual reproductive cycle. We also measured maturation and spawning across two sea water salinity levels (full and low salinity). Fecundity was estimated by the relationship between egg number and body size in female sea bass. Monthly changes in the GSI, histological gonadal tissues, and oocyte size showed both male and female sea bass reach final maturation in January and February, respectively, indicating that the spermiation of males occurs earlier than the spawning of females. The histological results indicated that the sea bass is a multiple spawner, similar to many marine teleosts, exhibiting group-synchronous oocyte development. Female maturation and spawning were enhanced in lower salinity seawater (29.6-31.0 psu) compared to that of normal salinity (34.5-35.1 psu). These results confirm that sea bass reproduction can occur successfully in captivity and imply that fertilized eggs can be collected from February to March. Additionally, our results show that lower salinity enhances oocyte maturation and spawning of female sea bass.
In inland aquaculture, a lot of fishes often died cause of touch of L. carteri which is attached on the net cage. In this works, the experiment were carried out on classification of species, toxin test, and extermination with some chemicals. A bryozoa from net cage in lake Okjeong is classified into the Phylactolaemata, Lophopodella carteri Hyatt. A bryozoa broke out firstly on the 30th of June with water temperature up to $31^{\circ}C$ and it reattached on the net with water temperature below $30^{\circ}C$. Size of bryozoa colony is about $0.8{\times}0.6{\sim}1.7{\times}1.5cm$. Water column of attachment was 0~5m and the peak is 2~3m. In toxin test on the israeli carp, goldfish and catfish touched with bryozoa for 1 minute at $25^{\circ}C$ of water temperature, a dead fish appeared at 20 minutes after touched. Mortality was 90% for israeli carp and 100% for goldfish at 100 minuties after touched, but catfish was not died at all. It was supposed that the toxin is from nematocyst being around tentacles and this toxin act a deadly poison on a israeli carp and goldfish. In extermination test, the bryozoa treated with 300ppm of formalin, 5% of sodium chloride, 5ppm of malachite green, 200ppm of potassium permanganate, 1000ppm of potassium iodide, 10ppm of DDVP for minute respectively, all of them were not effected.

There are several problems in the commercial pound net in the heavy tide ; the breaking and loss of net, steeply variation of net shape and decreasing of fishing efficiency, etc. In order to solve these problems, we introduced method of added sinker used to coastal cultivating cage of Japan and investigated the possibility of application to the Korean pound net. The results are obtained as follows; 1. In case of the upperward flow with fish court net, tension of the frame line was increased about 10${\sim}$25% than that of prototype according to the added sinker from 1.3gf to 5.2gf. The tension of A-type and B-type was similar to the case of the prototype, the tension of C-type and D-type was increased about 10${\sim}$15% than that of prototype. 2. The variation of deformed angle of fish court net was from 0$^{\circ}$ to 70$^{\circ}$ and that of the slope net was from 0$^{\circ}$ to 64$^{\circ}$ and that of the second bag net was from 0$^{\circ}$ to 46$^{\circ}$ and the depth of the second bag net was increased about 10% when the added sinker was changed from 1.3gf to 5.2gf. The depth of the first bag net and the second bag net were decreased about 50% than that of initial depth. 3. For the deformed angle of fish court net according to the attached point of the added sinker, A-type and B-type were decreased about 25% and 10% than the prototype, respectively. C-type was similar to the case of the prototype and D-type was increased about 15% than that of the prototype. The depth of slope net became deep in turn of A-type, B-type, C-type and D-type. For the depth of the second bag net, A-type, B-type, C-type and D-type were increased about 10${\sim}$15% than that of prototype. The depth of the slope net was changed from 0$^{\circ}$ to 63$^{\circ}$ and that of the second bag net was changed from 0${\sim}$44$^{\circ}$ according to the increase of velocity. 4. The optimal weight of added sinker was about 2.6${\sim}$3.6gf and the optimal attached point of added sinker was the case of C-type and D-type.
To understand the composition and community changes of benthic species by water depth (5 m, 20 m, 30 m) in the cage facilities, net substrate made of fish cages were installed at intervals of 2 months from March to September 2019, which is the main period of sessile organism recruitment. Water temperature and salinity varied in the ranges of 1~5℃ and 1~4 mg/L at 5 m from June to August, respectively, and less difference was observed according to water depth in other investigation periods. A total of 37 benthic animals were recruited, and Kamptozoa unid., Caprella scaura and Jassa slatteryi were verified during the entire study period. Mytilus galloprovincialis, a Mediterranean mussel, showed seasonality dominant only from spring to early summer (March to July). The community structure classified by temporal and spatial factors, and Bugula neritina, Kamptozoa unid., and Sertularella sp. contributed to the formation of the community. The depth of 5 m was exposed to environmental changes in water temperature and salinity temporally, so there was a seasonal variation in the composition of the sessile organism, but at depths of 20 m and 30 m, there was less significant environmental change and it showed relatively stable than 5 m.
