다물체 시스템이 이동하는 유연한 케이블의 동역학 해석에 관한 연구 (Dynamic Analysis of a Very Flexible Cable Carrying A Moving Multibody System)

  • In this paper, the dynamic behavior of a very flexible cable due to moving multibody system along its length is presented. The very deformable motion of a cable is presented using absolute nodal coordinate formulation, which is based on the finite element procedures and the general continuum mechanics theory to represent the elastic forces. Formulation for the sliding joint between a very flexible beam and a rigid body is derived. In order to formulate the constraint equations of this joint, a non-generalized coordinate, which has no inertia or forces associated with this coordinate, is used. The modeling of this sliding joint is very important to many mechanical applications such as the ski lifts. cable cars, and pulley systems. A multibody system moves along an elastic cable using this sliding joint. A numerical example is shownusing the developed analysis program for flexible multibody systems that include a large deformable cable.

이동하중을 받는 사장교의 거동비교 (Comparative study on the cable stayed bridge under moving load state)

  • 사장교는 특수목적으로 장 경간을 갖는 교량이다. 긴 경간으로 인하여 차량의 이동하중에 대한 동적응답이 매우 특별하다. 거동역시도 비선형을 갖고 있어 설계에 어려움이 많은 형식이다. 연구에서 다양한 차량하중을 고려하여 사장교의 응답을 구하고 장 경간 교량의 이동하중에 대한 거동을 파악한다. 특히, 한 방향과 양방향에 대한 하중이 속도를 가지고 이동할 때 교량의 부재에 대한 거동은 케이블의 유연성에 기인하는 것으로 나타났다. 차량하중의 영향은 케이블의 진동과 함께 수직변형을 증폭하는 경향을 나타내므로 케이블과 바닥판의 동적거동을 포함한 분석이 보다 효과적임을 알 수 있다.

Effect of axial stretching on large amplitude free vibration of a suspended cable

  • This paper presents the effect of axial stretching on large amplitude free vibration of an extensible suspended cable supported at the same level. The model formulation developed in this study is based on the virtual work-energy functional of cables which involves strain energy due to axial stretching and work done by external forces. The difference in the Euler equations between equilibrium and motion states is considered. The resulting equations govern the horizontal and vertical motion of the cables, and are coupled and highly nonlinear. The solution for the nonlinear static equilibrium configuration is determined by the shooting method while the solution for the large amplitude free vibration is obtained by using the second-order central finite difference scheme with time integration. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the vibration behaviour of extensible suspended cables.

강철도 복합교량 케이블의 장력 평가기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Evaluation Method of Cable Tension for Railway Steel Composite Bridge)

  • 본 연구에서는 약 3년간의 장기계측을 바탕으로 공용중인 복층 교량인 상부 도로교의 신축이음 신축량과 하부 철도교의 케이블 장력 간의 상관관계를 입증함으로서 온도변화에 따른 케이블 장력 평가 경험식을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 케이블별 장력 평가 경험식을 이용한 장력 예측결과는 진동법을 이용한 장력과 3% 이내로 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타나 공용중인 케이블의 장력 예측 및 평가에 실험적인 기법인 진동법과 함께 적용이 가능할 것으로 판단되었다. 본 연구에서 제안한 신축량 경험식으로 산출한 추정온도를 케이블 경험식에 적용한 결과, 현장시험 진동법 측정결과와 비교시 높은 신뢰수준을 확보할 수 있을 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제안한 추정온도를 반영한 장력 평가 경험식은 향후 기후변화에 따른 케이블의 장력 예측 및 유지관리방안 수립에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

차량이 포함된 이미지를 고려한 사장재 케이블의 장력 측정 (Tension Measurement of Stay Cables in Consideration with Image Including Vehicle )

  • 이 연구에서는 진동법을 이용하여 케이블 장력을 추정하고 비접촉 방식으로 케이블의 변위 응답을 측정하기 위한 센서로 영상기반시스템을 적용하였다. 영상기반시스템에서 카메라는 대상 구조물과 카메라의 시야를 고려한 위치에 설치된다. 그러나 설치하려는 위치의 이미지에는 대상 구조물과 차량 등의 다른 구조물이 포함될 수 있어 구조물의 변위 응답 측정에 필요한 기준점을 인식하기 어려울 수 있다. 영상기반시스템의 설치 위치로 인해 차량이 포함된 왜곡된 이미지는 이미지 해석에서 부정확한 결과를 나타내므로 두 이미지 사이의 유사성을 산정하여 차량이 포함된 이미지를 제거하였다. 제안된 방법을 이용한 사장교 케이블의 장력을 측정하는 방법의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 공용 중인 사장교에서 진동법을 적용하여 장력을 측정하였다.

Using cable finite elements to analyze parametric vibrations of stay cables in cable-stayed bridges

  • This paper uses the finite element method to simultaneously consider the coupled cable-deck vibrations and the parametric vibrations of stay cables in dynamic analysis of a cable-stayed bridge. The stay cables are represented by some cable finite elements, which can consider the parametric vibration of the cables. In addition to modeling stay cables using multiple link cable elements, a procedure for removing the self-weight term of cable element is proposed. A eigenvalue analysis process using dynamic condensation method for sorting out the natural modes of the girder-tower vibrations and the Rayleigh damping considering element damping for damping matrix are also proposed for dynamic analyses of cable-stayed bridges. The possibilities of using cable elements and of using global and local vibrations to evaluate the parametric vibrations of stay cables in a cable-stayed bridge are confirmed, respectively.

중량 앵커리지 블록과 연결된 조립 스테이 케이블의 장력 추정 (Estimation of Tension Forces of Assembly Stay Cables Connected with Massive Anchorage Block)

  • In this paper, the tension of assembly stay cable connected with massive anchorage block was calculated through back analysis of in-situ frequencies measured from a stadium structure. Direct approach to back analysis is adopted using the univariate method among the direct search methods as an optimization technique. The univariate method can search the optimal tension without regard to the initial ones and has a rapid convergence rate. To verify the reliability of back analysis, Tension formulas proposed by Zui et al. and Shimada were used. Tensions estimated by three methods are compared with the design tension, and are in a reasonable agreement with an error of more or less than 15%. Therefore, it is shown that back analysis applied in this paper is appropriate for estimation of cable tension force.

  • Stay cables, such as used in cable-stayed bridges, are prone to vibration due to their low inherent damping characteristics. It has been reported that a semiactive control system using MR dampers could potentially achieve both the better performance compared to a passive control system and the adaptability with few of the detractions. However, a control system including a power supply, a controller and sensors is required to improve the control performance of MR dampers. This complicated control system is not effective to most of large civil structures such as long-span bridges and high-rise buildings. This paper proposes a smart damping system which consists of an MR damper and the electromagnetic induction (EMI) part that is considered as an external power source to the MR damper. The control performance of the proposed damping system has been compared with that of the passive-type control systems employing an MR damper and a linear viscous damper.

케이블 지지된 풍력발전기 타워 구조 모델의 진동해석 (Vibration Analysis of a Cable Supported Wind Turbine Tower Model)

  • A theoretical model based on Rayleigh-Ritz method is proposed to predict the resonance frequency of a W/T(Wind Turbine) tower structure supported by guy cables. In order to verify the validity of the theoretical model, a reduced W/T tower system is manufactured and tested. Frequency response and mode data are determined by modal testing and finite element analysis is performed to calculate the natural frequency of the tower model. Numerical and experimental results are compared with those by the theoretical analysis. Parametric study by the theoretical model shows how the cable tension and cable elasticity influence the resonance frequency of the W/T tower structure. Finally, vibration response under various rotating speed is investigated to examine the possibility of severe resonance.

  • This paper aims to describe the aerodynamic vibrations of various structural elements of bridges, which are particular issues at present. The aerodynamic countermeasures for those vibrations are also discussed considering the generation mechanisms of the aerodynamic instabilities. In this paper, an example of vortex-induced oscillation of bridge deck and its lesson are discussed. Next, the wind-induced cable vibration and its aerodynamic countermeasures are reviewed. Then, the aerodynamic characteristics on two edge girders and their feasibility for application to long span cable-stayed bridges are considered. Furthermore, the bridge decks for future long span bridges are proposed and their aerodynamic characteristics are also discussed.
