  • This study explored and compared apparel products in domestic and international adaptive apparel markets through the lens of inclusive design to improve lives of people with disabilities. The purpose of this research was to gain a deeper understanding of these markets, identify product characteristics, and examine factors for continuous growth of the adaptive apparel market. In the domestic market, Heartist is the only brand that has consistently commercialized a wide range of apparel products. This brand did not limit itself to developing apparel specifically for people with disabilities, but combined stylish design and functionality to make enhancements accessible to a wider range of users. However, its actual products in the marketplace reflect only a few functional enhancements rather than accounting for various types of physical capabilities. Adaptive apparel brands in international markets were segmented by various design purposes, enabling wearers with different physical capabilities to enjoy a wider range of designs. Selected brands focused on business casual styles, incorporating various fastenings and magnetic closures for enhanced functionality. Findings of this research will furnish designers and product developers with practical insights, thereby contributing to tangible and positive improvements of lives for people with disabilities.

  • This study analyzed cases that applied hologram technology in the fashion industry in order to provide basic information for research on fashion marketing using hologram technology. The results of this study are as follows. A hologram was applied to fashion businesses in various ways including fashion shows, outdoor signboards, hologram windows or screens in stores, and launching shows or exhibitions. Most of these cases were foreign fashion brands, which utilized hologram technology actively for formulating a new brand image or for advertising products. Among Korean brands, however, there are not many cases of hologram application. Today, as-being the age of smart devices, the mobile advertisement market is growing rapidly among smart phone users. DKNY and Puma are providing information on styling through smart phone applications, and the Adidas stores in Germany also allow the customers to buy goods by entering a simple code through the smart phone. Recently, new devices are being introduced one by one, which display 2D digital contents in 3D holograms by combining mobile and hologram technologies. The marketing of fashion products is not just for supplying products but is required to satisfy the consumers' five senses. Therefore, the development of experiential contents based on the combination of mobile and hologram technologies will open new potential for profitable business models.

  • Purpose - This study investigates how review length and sentiment impact consumers' purchase intentions, using real online reviews as the data source. The study aims to understand how the length and tone of a review affect a potential buyer's decision-making process when considering a purchase. Design/methodology/approach - A 2 (comment length: long vs. short) × 2 (comment sentiment: positive vs. negative) × 2 (product type: practical vs. hedonic) experiment was conducted. Findings - Results indicate that longer reviews have a greater impact on consumers' perceived usefulness compared to short reviews, but do not affect purchase intentions. Review sentiment is found to have a stronger impact than review length, especially for negative sentiment. The study also suggests that consumers pay more attention to reviews of practical products, and that reviews have less influence on hedonic products. Research implications or Originality - The implications of these findings are relevant for both merchants managing reviews and consumers reviewing products. The results of this research could help businesses and marketers optimize their online review strategies to maximize their impact on consumer behavior.

  • This is the research on the correlation between the marketing activities conducted by the companies participating in the overseas exhibitions in the exhibition and the satisfaction of the visitors. The research findings show that the external elements of the participating companies such as 'external appearances of booths, interior facilities and the atmosphere', 'designs of exhibits', 'size of the participating companies', and the publicity elements of the participating companies such as 'the degree of application of mass media', 'prior publicity of the participating companies', etc. among the marketing activities conducted by the participating companies in the exhibition affect the interest and repeat business deals of the visitors. The findings also show that the elements to induce the interest of the visitors such as the booth design and display of products where the participating companies may produce their unique image and the prior publicity to the visitors constitute the important elements of marketing. It has also been revealed that the visitors whose purpose of the visits are to purchase the products and to satisfy their interest in 'the events and contents of the events affect the interest and the repeat business deals of the visitors, among the interest and repeat business deals pursuant to the characteristics of the visitors. It has also been found that the visitors who have recognized the representative brands in the exhibitions affect the interest and the repeat business deals and the visitors who have visited the exhibition several times are more satisfied than the visitors who have visited the exhibition for the first time. The comparative evaluation of the degree of importance of the marketing activities of the participating companies before the visitors' visit to the exhibitions and the degree of satisfaction after their visit reveals degrees of satisfaction in the order of 'the booth staff's professional knowledge of the exhibits', 'foreign language proficiency and their techniques of negotiation and demonstration', 'designs of the exhibits (colors and packaging), 'prior publicity of the participating companies. Such being the case, the companies participating in any of the overseas should maximize the result of their participation in the exhibition by training their staff in the products and foreign languages and through the prior publicity. It has also been found out that "the atmosphere of the booth in the exhibition such as 'launching of new products', 'external appearances of the booth, layout of the interior facilities and the atmosphere and events of the participating companies affect the interest and repeat business deals of the visitors, among the factors for the satisfaction of the visitors. Therefore, it has been proven that the external factors such as the external appearances of the booth, display of the products, launching of new products and events producing the atmosphere of the booth of the participating companies among the marketing activities conducted by the participating companies, and the extent of the training of the booth staff and prior publicity are the major factors affecting the interest and repeat business deals of the visitors.

  • Customer value has long been believed to be a direct trigger for increased tourist satisfaction, but as a mediating variable, it still needs to be proven further. This paper aims to examine the causal relationship between research variables, as well as to examine the role of customer value as a mediating variable in the relationship between service quality, brand quality, tourism products, customer value, and tourist satisfaction with tourists' objects. The population is tourists who visit tourist sites/destinations in the Gianyar Regency on the island of Bali, Indonesia, and the sample size is 270 respondents, selected through random sampling. Structural equation modeling (SEM), a multivariate statistical analysis technique, is used to analyze the causal relationships between variables. The results show that the model is accepted, and customer value is proven to be a positive mediating variable. The results also show that service quality, brand quality, and tourism products have an effect on customer value. This provides insight into the practical implications for tourism managers to increase the brand quality of tourist attractions as well as increase the professionalism and quality of tour guide services. This, in turn, will increase customer value and increase tourist satisfaction.

  • The Act on Distribution and Price Stabilization of Agricultural and Fisheries Product, which specifies rules and regulations on the trading system of fishery products wholesales markets, has been revised several times, mainly in order to improve the trading system. However, there is still a huge gap between the reality and law when it comes to the trading system of the fishery products wholesale market. This study aims to analyze the problems of the trading system of the fishery products wholesale market and to suggest ways to make improvement. The main problem facing the trading system of the fishery products wholesale market is sales on consignment by intermediate wholesalers, and this paper suggests two alternatives to solve the problem. First, intermediate wholesaler can be converted to market wholesalers, but it also entails other problems. The market wholesaler system has never been successfully adopted in the agricultural and fishery products wholesale market, and it is not clear which system is better between the wholesale market corporation and the market wholesaler system. Second, sales on consignment by intermediate wholesalers can be adopted with a positive view toward it. Negotiation transaction can be carried out for sales on consignment as a transaction method under the current Act on Distribution and Price Stabilization of Agricultural and Fisheries Products. However, since the act cannot provide a solution for listing, it is necessary to introduce Japan's negotiated transaction in advance system as a negotiation transaction method.

  • Purpose: Islamic banking products and services have always claimed to be unique from its traditional interest-based counterpart. However, in practice, many Islamic banks are alleged to have drifted away from its paradigm version. The purpose of this study is to gauge the perception of university students in Malaysia towards Islamic banking products. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected from 250 Malaysian university students. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was performed to test proposed hypotheses to identify factors influencing customers' perception toward Islamic banking products. Results: The main finding indicates that most of the respondents are familiar with Islamic banking products and consider Islamic banking products as useful as its conventional counterparts. The regression results show that respondents are less convinced of adherence to Shari'ah, efficiency and helpfulness of existing Islamic banks. Conclusions: This is a cue to the Islamic banks' stakeholders that they need to realign their practices in an ethically responsible way in accordance with Shari'ah if they wish to secure existing customers and attract potential ones. In a competitive banking environment, most banks provide efficient and readily available service; thus, focusing on this as a strategy hardly distinguishes an Islamic bank from an interest-based bank.
