  • The construction of green building has distinct charicteristics by work classification by applying green technologies. Thus if the new technologies are applied to construction, unskiiled worker can experience construction time delay, reconstruction occurrence and quality decrease because of mistakes during the construction and work progress. For this background, we establish the work progress manual to secure quality and performance during the construction phase of green building and provide method to be used in the construction sight operation.

  • Recently, defect management have been considered as one of the major issues for more large-sized and complicated in domestic construction industry. However, the defect management have not been performed systematically because of special manpower, excessive amount of documents, 2D based inspection work, unclear traditional checklists, complicated work process and difficulty in communicating construction information. Therefore, the construction field manager could not performed the quality inspection and defect management work on time as well as the reliability of recorded quality and defect factors was decreased. The primary objective of this study is develop a Construction Defect Management Application CDMA) using a mobile (smartphone). The application can be sharing a huge information and communication technology based on RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification), BIM (Building Information Modeling) which enables field mangers to efficiently gather the information of defection in construction on-site.

  • Domestic construction industry suffered from the IMF and makes a great effort to improve in 'cost management', 'strengthening the competitiveness of the construction industry'. Therefore, the industry has become interested in improving the productivity of construction and ongoing research is being progressed in various angles. In such circumstances, the needs for a study of concepts and space of the actual construction work place is emerging. This study were utilized BIM to understand the types and causes of problems in space during the finishing work in construction and categorize importance and frequency of occurence through a survey of experts and AHP to analyze the realtive effects of importance then modeling to them to aware of issues and give direction for efficient management. This study is anylize the problem which is caused by same time process in finishing work progress of apartment applied by BIM. and categorize the type of work interference management in finishing work, and anylize by the type of occurence then predict the work interference management through in BIM 3D VIEW and suggest the solutions.

  • Apartments construction is a one of largest parts in buildings construction. In apartments construction, work interferences are frequently occurred in work processing because workspaces are very various and numerous. However, though work process is important for mainly influencing to the schedule, quality and cost of apartments construction, these work interferences are considered a kind of uncertainty, which is difficult to anticipate at construction planning stage, in work processing. Therefore, this study proposed the measures for work interference reduction in apartment buildings construction and the actual planning for practices. The results can be summarized as follows: (1) the standard of work process is checked regularly. (2) The scope of work and work process is adjusted. (3) The standard of drawings process and cost about work interferences work profess is established.

국내 철근공사 실태분석 및 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Actual Condition Analysis and Improvement of Rebar Work in Korean Building Construction)

  • With labor shortage and high-wage era, the construction cost is rising and the construction business is dull, demanding the construction environment of Korea to raise profitability through major cost savings and rationalization of construction management. However, although reinforcing bar(rebar) work, which greatly effects the building's safety, endurance, and construction time, is an important phase in construction, it holds serious problem of quality and productivity deterioration due to its characteristic of intensive-labor and maintaining of old work methods resulting in poor management, and costs increase. Therefor in this study to investigate current situation and problems of rebar work and to find methods of betterment, a survey was conducted to site engineers and individuals in division of cost estimate of domestic construction company. The survey questions were on the subjects of (1) calculating rebar quantity, (2) ordering and procurement, (3) rebar cutting and bending, and (4) rebar work management.   • Unlike new construction projects, road paving maintenance work shows large productivity discrepancies depending on the conditions of the worksite. The current construction cost calculation scheme, however, only provides daily construction volume categorized by work scope and scale: There are no detailed standards that can be implemented on various types of worksites. To develop standards that enable the calculation of appropriate construction costs by taking into account worksite conditions, the current study conducted on-site surveys and interviews. The on-site research and analysis revealed that location, construction width, the day's worksite lot, work scope, and construction objectives were found to cause differences in construction volume. In addition to the existing work scope and work scape variables, the current study added weight constants reflecting the daily work volume based on movement conditions at site and the size of the worksite lot. In this process, the current study found that even one type of construction project can have fifteen different levels of daily construction volume. Such detailed classification was deemed to enable the proper calculation of construction costs based on worksite conditions.

  • A tall building construction is needed to reduce the construction duration for project profitability. Reducing the cycle time of typical floor in the structural frame work which have the largest duration in the whole construction, greatly affects construction duration. Nowadays, some projects are accomplished in the 3 day cycle. In order to accomplish efficiently 3 day cycle, productivity information of similar projects is supported. Therefore, this study proposed labor productivity and application by slab formwork to construct by the 3 day cycle. In order to perform an analysis, we selected 3 cases and analyzed the labor productivity on the basis of the amount of slab forms, labors, and durations. Then, we performed the questionnaire to analyze the application by formwork of tall building construction engineers. This study will contribute to establish a reasonable scheduling in structural frame work of a new similar project.

  • Recently, It is a fact that the percentage of female field managers has increased in the construction industry. Therefore, this study investigated the percentage of female construction site managers by conducting a survey of current male and female construction site managers and then analyzed the workload, work difficulty, work importance and performance level of female employees in charge of public affairs, which is the most common tasks.

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze the importance of the construction work of apartment buildings. The construction work operation was divided into five major tasks, which include: Schedule Control (P'1 - P5) Construction Management (C'1 - C'5), Environmental Management (E'1 - E'3), and Quality Management. Finally, this study derived major construction execution tasks through correlation between construction work and the original index and t-test.

  • Working Posture is an important factor directly connected with quality and productivity of the construction project. In particular, High-rise building construction is required to manage the working posture due to the repetitive task and unfavorable working condition such as high place work, limited space. However existing construction planning of high-rise building construction has a negative effect on the labor's productivity because it is not insufficiently considered for working posture. Therefore the purpose of this study is to suggest a work that needs improvement by analyzing labor's working posture quantitatively using OWAS method. These results would provide the basic information to improve the productivity of the construction project by supporting the construction plan considering the working posture in high-rise building.
