  • Multi-body spacecraft attitude and configuration control formulations based on the use of collaborative control theory are considered. The control formulations are based on two-player, nonzero-sum, differential game theory applied using a Nash strategy. It is desired that the control laws allow different components of the multi-body system to perform different tasks. For example, it may be desired that one body points toward a fixed star while another body in the system slews to track another satellite. Although similar to the linear quadratic regulator formulation, the collaborative control formulation contains a number of additional design parameters because the problem is formulated as two control problems coupled together. The use of the freedom of the partitioning of the total problem into two coupled control problems and the selection of the elements of the cross-coupling matrices are specific problems ad-dressed in this paper. Examples are used to show that significant improvement in performance, as measured by realistic criteria, of collaborative control over conventional linear quadratic regulator control can be achieved by using proposed design guidelines.

  • This study was made in order to find out the relationship between the psychological soundness and the eating attitude influenced by eating disorder, and the summary of the results are as follows; 1. Almost all of the surveyed girls were in the criteria of standard weight, however they regard themselves more obese than what their actual body shape normally shows. It shows that they want a further slimmer body shape than the standard one (p=0.0000). 2. Tangable relationship was observed between such variables as her own acknowledged body type, eating attitude influenced by eating disorder and the psychological soundness. The more the girls think themselves slim the higher the score of eating attitude becomes (p=0.0000) and the lower the anxiety score becomes (p=0.0044). 3. Significant relationships was found between the obesity and the eating attitude influenced by eating disorder (p=0.0001). For the underweighted girls the high score of eating attitude influenced by eating disorder was observed, and it shows the increasing degree of eating disorder risk for them.

  • The objective of this research was to study the differences between urban and rural areas high school students in body image and dietary habits. The number of subjects in Seoul and Kyungkido were 902. Based on self-reported height and weight, there was no significant difference between the urban and rural students. However, the rate of obesity was significantly higher in males, whereas the rate of underweight was significantly higher in females, especially for urban females (p < 0.05). Their ideal body image ratio as skinny or slender-type was 91.6% (urban) and 95.7% (rural) for male category while 100% (urban) and 99.4% (rural) for females. Urban females had a strong preference for a skinny body (p < 0.05). Rural students were more highly interested in weight control than urban students were, but they appeared not to care their health. In addition, they had significantly lower levels of weight control knowledge and dietary attitude score (p < 0.001). Subjective assessment of body weight appeared to be more important in terms of body satisfaction, weight control knowledge and dietary attitude than actual measurement of body mass index. Significant test revealed that weight control knowledge was related to dietary attitude (p < 0.01). (p < 0.01).

  • CMG(Control Momentum Gyro) is a control device being used for spacecraft attitude control constructing relatively large amount of torque compared to conventional body-fixed reaction wheels. The CMG produces gyroscopic control torque by continuously varying the angular momentum vector direction with respect to the spacecraft body. The VSCMG(Variable Speed Control Momentum Gyro) has favorable advantages with variable speed to lead to better control authority as well as singularity avoidance capability. Attitude dynamics with a VSCMG mounted on a two-axis gimbal system are derived in this study. The dynamic equation may be considered as an extension of the single-axis counterpart. Also, a feedback control law design is addressed in conjunction with the dynamic equations of motion.

  • This paper is mainly concerned with the vision-based attitude stabilization of a quad-rotor UAV. The methods for attitude control rely on computing the roll and pitch angles of the vehicle from a two-camera vision system. One camera is attached to the body-fixed x-axis and the other to the body-fixed y-axis. The attitude computation for the quad-rotor UAV is performed by image processing consisting of Canny edge and Hough line detection. A proportional and integral controller is employed for the attitude hold autopilot. In this paper, the quad-rotor UAV is modeled by 6-DOF nonlinear equations of motion that includes rotor aerodynamics with blade element theory. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated through 3D environmental numerical simulations.
