The characteristics of two different modes of perfusion culture, intermittent and continuous bleedings, were investigated by culturing the hybridoma cells producing von Willebrand Factor (vWF) monoclonal antibody (McAb) in a 15 L bioreactor without clogging the filter. Both culture methods exhibited similar profiles of cell density and metabolite concentrations during the culture period at the cell concentration of around 1${\times}$107 cells/mL. When the perfusion rate was increased, the intermittrnt bleeding culture showed problems of ammonia accumulation and decrease of cell viability. The continuous bleeding culture in terms of nutrient consumption and metabolite production kinetics. But the analysis of specific oxygen consumption rate showed that the specific oxygen consumption rate of intermittent bleeding culture was similar to that of exponential growth phase. The continuous bleeding culture showed higher specific oxygen consumption rate of intermittent bleeding culture. finally we proved the possibility of long-term operation of continuous bleeding culture and produced approximately 40 g of vWF McAb in a 15L bioreactor after one-month operation.

A common drain feedback CMOS wideband LNA with current bleeding and input inductive series-peaking techniques is presented in this paper. DC coupling is adopted between cascode and feedback amplifiers, so that the gain and NF of the LNA can be dynamically controlled by adjusting the bleeding current. The fabricated LNA shows the bandwidth of 2.5 GHz. The high gain mode shows 17.5 dB gain with $1.7{\sim}2.8\;dB$ NF and consumes 27 mW power and the low gain mode has 14 dB gain with $2.7{\sim}4.0\;dB$ NF and dissipates 1.8 mW from 1.8 V supply.
Background/Aims: Endoscopic resection of all colorectal adenomatous lesions with a low complication rate, simplicity, and negative residuals is challenging. Hence, we developed a new method called "non-injection resection using bipolar soft coagulation mode (NIRBS)" method, adapted for colorectal lesions. In addition, we evaluated the effectiveness of this method. Methods: We performed NIRBS throughout a 12-month period for all colorectal lesions which snare resection was acceptable without cancerous lesions infiltrating deeper than the submucosal layer. Results: A total of 746 resected lesions were included in the study, with a 4.5 mm mean size (range, 1-35 mm). The major pathological breakdowns were as follows: 64.3% (480/746) were adenomas, and 5.0% (37/746) were intraepithelial adenocarcinomas (Tis lesions). No residuals were observed in any of the 37 Tis lesions (mean size, 15.3 mm). Adverse events included bleeding (0.4%) but no perforation. Conclusions: NIRBS allowed the resection of multiple lesions with simplicity because of the non-injection and without perforating due to the minimal burn effect of the bipolar snare set in the soft coagulation mode. Therefore, NIRBS can be used to resect adenomatous lesions easily, including Tis lesions, from small to large lesions without leaving residuals.

A dual-mode direct conversion receiver is developed in $0.13\;{\mu}m$ RF CMOS process for IEEE 802.11n based wireless LAN and IEEE 802.16e based mobile WiMAX application. The RF receiver covers the frequency band between 2.3 and 2.7 GHz. Three-step gain control is realized in LNA by using current steering technique. Current bleeding technique is applied to the down-conversion mixer in order to lower the flicker noise. A frequency divide-by-2 circuit is included in the receiver for LO I/Q differential signal generation. The receiver consumes 56 mA at 1.4 V supply voltage including all LO buffers. Measured results show a power gain of 32 dB, a noise figure of 4.8 dB, a output $P_{1dB}$ of +6 dBm over the entire band.
In order to set the lasing variables and evaluate, clinically, the therapeutic effects of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser on oral lesion, the author applied the laser energy from a fiberoptic delivered, free running, pulsed Nd:YAG laser (wavelength 1064nm, Pulse duration 120$\mu$sec, fiber diameter 200$\mu$m/320$\mu$m) to 22 cases of oral soft tissue lesions and 6 cases of oral hard tissue lesions. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The effective excision with contact mode and the effective hemostasis of accompanied bleeding with noncontact mode were occurred by lasing on oral soft tissue lesions with fiber diameter of 320$\mu$m under the variables of 2.0~4.0W and 20~50Hz which were controlled into high power/low pulses for excision, low power/high pulses for hemostasis, low power in granulation tissue and high power in fibrous tissue according to therapeutic goals and tissue conditions. 2. About 50% of decreasing effect on hypersensitivity was occurred by lasing with non-contact and contact mode on cervical abrasion which caused dentinal hypersensitivity with fiber diameter of 320$\mu$m under the variables of 0.7 - 1.0W and 10Hz which were applied 2~3 times with 1 week interval. 3. The effective sterilization of infected root canal and lesion of periapical abscess was occurred by lasing with contact and spiral modes on wall of root canal and periapical abscess with fiber diameter of 200$\mu$m of which the tip was placed about 1mm shorter than root canal length under the variables of 1.OW and 10Hz.

The SCW numerical model described in the companion paper was used to carry out a comprehensive parametric study to evaluate the performance of the SCW. The five ground related parameters, which are porosity, hydraulic conductivity, thermal conductivity, specific heat, geothermal gradient, and five SCW design parameters, which are pumping rate, well depth, well diameter, dip tube diameter, bleeding rate, were used in the study. Two types of numerical simulations were performed. The first type was used to perform short-term (24-hour) simulation, while the second type 14 day simulation. The study results indicate that the parameters that have important influence on the performance of SCW were hydraulic conductivity, thermal conductivity, geothermal gradient, pumping rate, and bleeding rate. The thermal conductivity had the most important influence on the performance of the SCW. With the increase in the geothermal gradient, the performance increased in the heat mode, but decreased in the cooling mode. The hydraulic conductivity influenced the performance when the value was larger than $10^{-4}m/s$. The depth of the well increased the performance, but at the cost of increased cost of boring. The bleeding had an important influence on SCW, greatly enhancing the performance at a limited increased cost of operation. Overall, this study showed that various factors had a cumulative influence on the performance of the SCW, and a numerical simulation can be used to accurately predict the performance of the SCW.

Background: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is an intervention for severe heart and lung failure; however, it poses the risk of complications, including gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB). Comprehensive analyses of GIB in patients undergoing ECMO are limited, and its impact on clinical outcomes remains unclear. Methods: This retrospective study included 484 patients who received venovenous and venoarterial ECMO between January 2015 and December 2022. Data collected included patient characteristics, laboratory results, GIB details, and interventions. Statistical analyses were performed to identify risk factors and assess the outcomes. Results: GIB occurred in 44 of 484 patients (9.1%) who received ECMO. Multivariable analysis revealed that older age (odds ratio [OR], 1.04; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.01-1.06; p=0.0130) and need to change the ECMO mode (OR, 3.74; 95% CI, 1.75-7.96; p=0.0006) were significant risk factors for GIB, whereas no association was found with antiplatelet or systemic anticoagulation therapies during ECMO management. Half of the patients with GIB (22/44, 50%) underwent intervention, with endoscopy as the primary modality (19/22, 86.4%). Patients who underwent ECMO and developed GIB had higher rates of mortality (40/44 [90.9%] vs. 262/440 [59.5%]) and ECMO weaning failure (38/44 [86.4%] vs. 208/440 [47.3%]). Conclusion: GIB in patients undergoing ECMO is associated with adverse outcomes, including increased risks of mortality and weaning failure. Even in seemingly uncomplicated cases, it is crucial to avoid underestimating the significance of GIB.
From 1985 through Oct. 1988, we have experienced 5 cases of Aorto-Coronary Bypass Surgery [ACBS] and 3 cases of Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Anogioplasty [PTCA]under the diagnosis of unstable angina. There were 6 males and 2 females who ranged from 48 to 70 years old. Almost all patients had a evidence of hypertension & hyperlipidemia. Two patients showed old myocardial infarction and remaining patients showed myocardial ischemia on resting state. The patterns of involvement of coronary artery disease were single vessel disease [4 cases], double vessel disease [3 cases], Triple vessel disease [1 case]. Among 5 cases of ACBS, double bypass graft was in 3 cases and single bypass graft was in 2 cases. Mode of anastomosis were all individual anastomosis, using Saphenous vein graft. Postoperative complications were perioperative myocardial infarction [2 cases], postoperative bleeding [1 case], leg wound disruption [1 case]. Perioperative myocardial infarction cases didn*t survive. In cases of PTCA, there were no complications. Follow up periods were ranged from 1 month to 25 months. All survived cases were asymptomatic except one case, who showed Functional Class II.
We design a CMOS front-end with wide variable gain and low power consumption for 5.25 GHz band. To obtain wide variable gain range, a p-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (PMOS FET) in the low noise amplifier (LNA) section is connected in parallel. For a mixer, single balanced and folded structure is employed for low power consumption. Using this structure, the bias currents of the transconductance and switching stages in the mixer can be separated without using current bleeding path. The proposed front-end has a maximum gain of 33.2 dB with a variable gain range of 17 dB. The noise figure and third-order input intercept point (IIP3) are 4.8 dB and -8.5 dBm, respectively. For this operation, the proposed front-end consumes 7.1 mW at high gain mode, and 2.6 mW at low gain mode. The simulation results are performed using Cadence RF spectre with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) $0.18\;{\mu}m$ CMOS technology.)
Breast cancer rates are increasing every year, biopsy for diagnosing breast cancer is increasing as well. Biopsy also invasive test, have bad side effects from patients anxiety, infection, bleeding. In this study, Conduct a survey of 69 patients who brest lesion patient, both B-mode ultrasound and elastography exam and B-mode ultrasound was classified according to the BI-RADS category, and the elastography exam was classified according to the Color overlay pattern that the value of the kPa expressed in relation to the propagation velocity of Transverse waves. The optimal cut off value of the highest sensitivity and specificity was 54.70 kPa. In the color overlay pattern, Dark Blue 42 people, Light blue ~ Red 27 people classified results and BI-RADS classification results, benign 40 people and malignant 29 people classified results showed similar results. Therefore, It is judged that the color overlay pattern is positive when classified into Dark Blue, and malignant when classified into Light blue ~ Red. In conclusion, breast elastography is expected to play a innovative role in reducing the number of breast cancer examinations and classify between benign and malignant tumor.
