  • M. Demirci[Vague groups, J. math. Anal. Appl. vol.230, pp. 142-156, 1999] studied the vague group operation on a crisp set as a fuzzy function and estabished the vague group structure on a crisp set. In this paper we consider bi-groups which are studied by A.A.A. Agboola and L.S. Akinola. And we also will define vague bi-groups and fuzzy bi-functions and we investigate some basic operations on the vague bi-group and fuzzy bi-functions.

  • This study examined the effects of underwear brand identity color on brand equity. A self-administered questionnaire mainly consisted of BI color, brand image, and brand equity for underwear. Five underwear brands (Calvin Klein, Yes, Solb, Venus, and Body Guard) were selected based on the frequency they were purchased in pilot study. To collect data, respondents were asked to choose a brand which they were most familiar with, and to assess BI color, brand image, and brand equity including cognitive value, emotional value and purchase intention. A total of 228 usable questionnaires were obtained from consumers aged 19 to 46. BI colors were classified into four color groups: Achromatic (white, black, gray), Vivid (red, blue, yellow), Pink, and Beige. Additionally, underwear brand images consisted of four factors: Sophisticated, Classic, Casual, and Elegant images. Findings showed significant differences in the four factors of brand image and cognitive brand value between the BI color groups. Also, the factor of cognitive value was higher for achromatic or beige brand color groups, than for vivid or pink color groups. Also, brand image factors had positive effects on cognitive or emotional brand value. Especially, the factor of emotional value was more likely to increase purchase intentions than cognitive value in the BI color groups. The implications for managerial decision marking in fashion marketing strategy were also discussed.

  • This study is mainly focused on micellar effect of cetylpyridinium chloride(CPyCl) solution including alkylbenzimidazole(R-BI) on dephosphorylation of diphenyl-4-nitrophenylphosphinate(DPNPIN) in carbonate buffer(pH 10.7). The reactions of DPNPIN with R-BI$^{\ominus}$ are strongly catalyzed by the micelles of CPyCl. Dephosphorylation of DPNPIN is accelerated by BI$^{\ominus}$ ion in $10^{-2}M$ carbonate buffer(pH 10.7) of $4{\times}10^{-3}M$ CPyCl solution up to 100 times as compared with the reaction in carbonate buffer by no BI solution of $4{\times}10^{-3}M$ CPyCl. The value of pseudo first order rate constant($k^m_{BI}$) of the reaction in CPyCl solution reached a maximum rate constant increasing micelle concentration. Such rate maxima are typical of micellar catalyzed bimolecular reactions. The reaction mediated by R-BI$^{\ominus}$ in micellar solutions are obviously slower than those by BI$^{\ominus}$, and the reaction rate were decreased with increase of lengths of alkyl groups. It seems due to steric effect of alkyl groups of R-BI$^{\ominus}$ in Stern layer of micellar solution. The surfactant reagent, cetylpyridinium chloride(CPyCl), strongly catalyzes the reaction of diphenyl-4-nitrophenylphosphinate(DPNPIN) with alkylbenzimidazole (R-BI) and its anion(R-BI$^{\ominus}$) in carbonate buffer(pH 10.7). For example, $4{\times}10^{-3}M$ CPyCl in $1{\times}10^{-4}M$ BI solution increase the rate constant ($k_{\Psi}=1.0{\times}10^{-2}sec^{-1}$) of the dephosphorylation by a factor ca.14, when compared with reaction ($k_{\Psi}=7.3{\times}10^{-4}sec^{-1}$) in $1{\times}10^{-4}M$ BI solution(without CPyCl). And no CPyCl solution, in $1{\times}10^{-4}M$ BI solution increase the rate constant ($k_{\Psi}=7.3{\times}10^{-4}sec^{-1}$) of the dephosphorylation by a factor ca.36, when compared with reaction ($k_{\Psi}=2.0{\times}10^{-5}sec^{-1}$) in water solution(without BI). This predicts that the reactivities of R-BI$^{\ominus}$ in the micellar pseudophase are much smaller than that of BI$^{\ominus}$. Due to the hydrophobicity and steric effect of alkyl group substituents, these groups would penetrate into the core of the micelle for stabilization by van der Waals interaction with long alkyl groups of CPyCl.

  • In this paper, DEA analysis is employed to compare and evaluate the relative efficiency of a business intelligence (BI) system among five industrial groups such as IT and financial services, electricity and electronics, energy and chemistry, automotive and heavy machinery, and food and apparel. Especially, this study has analyzed the improving tendency of relative efficiency of the industrial groups since they adopted the BI System using Time-Window Analysis. The research findings show that the energy and chemical industry group tends to be remarkably more efficient than the other groups and the electrical and electronic industry turns out to gradually improve their efficiency since the adoption of the BI system.

  • Purpose: We sought to evaluate the effectiveness of bone substitutes in circumferential periimplant defects created in the rabbit tibia. Methods: Thirty rabbits received 45 implants in their left and right tibia. A circumferential bone defect (6.1 mm in diameter/4 mm depth) was created in each rabbit tibia using a trephine bur. A dental implant ($4.1mm{\times}8.5mm$) was installed after the creation of the defect, providing a 2-mm gap. The bone defect gaps between the implant and the bone were randomly filled according to the following groups: blood clot (CO), particulate Bio-Oss$^{(R)}$ (BI), and Bio-Oss$^{(R)}$ Collagen (BC). Ten animals were euthanized after periods of 15, 30, and 60 days. Biomechanical analysis by means of the removal torque of the implants, as well as histologic and immunohistochemical analyses for protein expression of osteocalcin (OC), Runx2, OPG, RANKL, and TRAP were evaluated. Results: For biomechanics, BC showed a better biological response ($61.00{\pm}15.28Ncm$) than CO ($31.60{\pm}14.38Ncm$) at 30 days. Immunohistochemical analysis showed significantly different OC expression in CO and BC at 15 days, and also between the CO and BI groups, and between the CO and BC groups at 60 days. After 15 days, Runx2 expression was significantly different in the BI group compared to the CO and BC groups. RANKL expression was significantly different in the BI and CO groups and between the BI and BC groups at 15 days, and also between the BI and CO groups at 60 days. OPG expression was significantly higher at 60 days postoperatively in the BI group than the CO group. Conclusions: Collectively, our data indicate that, compared to CO and BI, BC offered better bone healing, which was characterized by greater RUNX2, OC, and OPG immunolabeling, and required greater reversal torque for implant removal. Indeed, along with BI, BC presents promising biomechanical and biological properties supporting its possible use in osteoconductive grafts for filling peri-implant gaps.

  • In several applied disciplines like control engineering, computer sciences, error-correcting codes and fuzzy automata theory, the use of fuzzied algebraic structures especially ordered semi-groups and their fuzzy subsystems play a remarkable role. In this paper, we introduce the notion of (${\in},{\in}{\vee}\bar{q}_k$)-fuzzy subsystems of ordered semigroups namely (${\in},{\in}{\vee}\bar{q}_k$)-fuzzy generalized bi-ideals of ordered semigroups. The important milestone of the present paper is to link ordinary generalized bi-ideals and (${\in},{\in}{\vee}\bar{q}_k$)-fuzzy generalized bi-ideals. Moreover, different classes of ordered semi-groups such as regular and left weakly regular ordered semigroups are characterized by the properties of this new notion. Finally, the upper part of a (${\in},{\in}{\vee}\bar{q}_k$)-fuzzy generalized bi-ideal is defined and some characterizations are discussed.

  • In this paper, we introduce the concepts of (inf, sup)-hesitant fuzzy subsemigroups and (inf, sup)-hesitant fuzzy (generalized) bi-ideals of semigroups, and investigate their properties. The concepts are established in terms of sets, fuzzy sets, negative fuzzy sets, interval-valued fuzzy sets, Pythagorean fuzzy sets, hesitant fuzzy sets, and bipolar fuzzy sets. Moreover, some characterizations of bi-ideals, fuzzy bi-ideals, anti-fuzzy bi-ideals, negative fuzzy bi-ideals, Pythagorean fuzzy bi-ideals, and bipolar fuzzy bi-ideals of semigroups are given in terms of the (inf, sup)-type of hesitant fuzzy sets. Also, we characterize a semigroup which is completely regular, a group and a semilattice of groups by (inf, sup)-hesitant fuzzy bi-ideals.

  • This study is mainly focused on micellar effect of tetradecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(TTABr) solution including alkylbenzimidazole(R-BI) on dephosphorylation of diphenyl-4-nitrophenylphosphinate(DPNPIN) in carbonate buffer(pH 10.7). Dephosphorylation of DPNPIN is accelerated by $BI^{\Theta}$ ion in $10^2$ M Carbonate buffer(pH 10.7) of $4{\times}10^{-4}$ M TTABr solution up to 80 times as compared with the reaction in Carbonate buffer by no benzimidazole(BI) solution of TTABr. The value of pseudo first order rate constant($k_{\psi}$) of the reaction in TTABr solution reached a maximum rate constant increasing micelle concentration. The reaction mediated by $R-BI^{\Theta}$ in micellar solutions are obviously slower than those by $BI^{\Theta}$, and the reaction rate were decreased with increase of lengths of alkyl groups. And no TTABr solution, in BI solution increase the rate constant($k_{\psi}=3.5{\times}10^{-4}1/sec$) of the dephosphorylation by a factor ca. 39, when compared with reaction ($k_{\psi}=1.0{\times}10^{-5}1/sec$) in water solution(without BI).
