  • To study the basic research of the lightning parameter for power system operation. LPATS(Lightning Position and Tracking System) has been introduced since 1995 in KEPCO. We have developed the lightning parameter analysis program. We obtained the various statistical distribution of lightning current parameters from 1995 by this program. In this paper, we describe the results on the comparison/analysis between the fault of transmission line and the LPATS lightning data.

  • This investigation explores the thermally stratified stretchable flow of an Oldroyd-B material bounded by a linear stretched surface. Heat transfer characteristics are addressed through thermal stratification and heat generation/absorption. Formulation is arranged for mixed convection. Application of suitable transformations provides ordinary differential systems through partial differential systems. The homotopy concept is adopted for the solution of nonlinear differential systems. The influence of several arising variables on velocity and temperature is addressed. Besides this, the rate of heat transfer is calculated and presented in tabular form. It is noticed that velocity and Nusselt number increase when the thermal buoyancy parameter is enhanced. Moreover, temperature is found to decrease for larger values of Prandtl number and heat absorption parameter. Comparative analysis for limiting study is performed and excellent agreement is found.

  • $Mn{1-X}Fe{2+X}O_4, Mg_{1-X}Fe_{2+X}O_4$ (x=0.0, 0.025, 0.1, 0.2) for negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor was prepared by calcination at $800^{\circ}C$ and sintering at form 1100 to $1250^{\circ}C$ with $50^{\circ}C$ intervals. The best linear property was obtained in the Mn-based sample sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ with x=0.0 composition. Temperature coefficient of resistance, $\alpha$, was $-5.6%/^{\circ}C$ in the Mn-based sample, $-5.2%/^{\circ}C$ in the MM-based sample, and $-1.6%/^{\circ}C$ in the Mg-based sample. thermistor parameter, B, was in the range of 2665~7780 K. The results show the possibility that Mn-Ni-Co based thermistor could be substituted by the composition used in this study.

  • (M $n_{l-x}$M $g_{l-x}$)F $e_{2+x}$ $O_4$(x=0.0, 0.025, 0.1, 0.2) for NTC(negative temperature coefficient) thermistor was prepared by calcining at 80$0^{\circ}C$ and sintering at from 1100 to 130$0^{\circ}C$ with 5$0^{\circ}C$ intervals while x was varied from 0.0 to 0.025, 0.1 and 0.2. The best linear property was obtained in the based specimen sintered at 120$0^{\circ}C$ with x=0.1 composition. Thermistor parameter, $B_{25~85^{\circ}C}$, was in the range of 5000~ 7300 [K]. Temperature coefficient of resistance, $\alpha$$_{25^{\circ}C}$, was -5.2 %/$^{\circ}C$. The results showed the possibility that Mn-Ni-Co based thermistor could be substituted by the composition used in this study was confirmed.med.d.

  • This paper presents a design technique of SOFLC(Self -Organizing Fuzzy Logic Controller). It is composed of three parts: FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) part, RPO (Repeat Parameter Organizing) part, and RTPO (Real Time Parameter Organizing) part. The FLC part is controlled by initial parameters ($a_1$, $a_2$, $a_3$, $b_1$, $b_2$, $b_3$) the RPO part improves parameters by evaluating the performance of control responses controlled by FLC, and the RTPO organizes the parameters for real time in order to have the same value of the control response($y_k$) and the target response($y_k\;^*$).

  • PVDF 고분자 압전 초츰파 변환기를 이용하여 초음파 비선형 파라케타 B/A 측정 시스템을 제작하였다. 이 측정 시스템은 종래의 비선형 파라메타 B/A측정 시스템에 있어 문제점이었던 장치의 복잡성을 대폭 간랸화할 수있으며 고차 고조파까지도 측정할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 이러한 장치를 이용하여 여러 가지 물질에 대한 B/A를 측정한 결과 다른 문헌치와 잘 일치하였다.

  • The $C_B$ statistic, a generalization of Mallows's $C_L$ statistic, is developed to determine the shrinkage parameter. Since not all cases in a data set play an equal role in forming $C_B$, a subdivision of $C_B$ into individual components for each case is developed. This subdivision is useful both as an aid in understanding $C_B$ and as a diagnostic procedure.

  • ZORA-DFT calculations of $^{11}$B EFG (electric field gradient) tensors for lithium borates, LiB$_3O_5$ (LBO) and Li$_2B_4O_7$ (LTB), were performed. The calculated values of 11B quadrupole coupling constant and asymmetry parameter are in good agreement with the experimental values. The sign of the quadrupole coupling constant for the tetrahedral boron site was deduced from the distortion from the ideal tetrahedral symmetry.

  • Phylogenetic analysis of 31 species representing 12 genera in the family Strigidae (Aves: Strigiformes) including 5 species (Bubo bubo, Otus sunia, O. semitorques, Ninox scutulato, Strix aluco) collected from Korea has been undertaken using nucleotide sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene. Maximum likelihood analysis was performed and pairwise genetic distances were calculated with Kimura's two-parameter and p-distance. Among well-aligned 959 bp used for this study, 459 sites were variable and 398 sites were informative for the phylogenetic analysis. The family Strigidae was divided into three subgroups, Clade I (Aegolius), Clade II (Athene, Micrathene, Glaucidium and Surnia) and Clade III (Bubo, Nycteo, Pulsatrix, Strix, Otus, Ptilopsis, and Ninox). Also, two separated subgroups in the genus Otus were confirmed by the geographical distribution.
