Objective : To determine the relationships between customer's attitude, the subjective norm and the intention to use hospital-based health promotion services. Methods : This study was based on the theory of reasoned action, suggested by Fishbein and Ajzen. The subjects of this study were 501 residents of Seoul, Bun-dang, Il-san and Pyung-chon city, under 65 years, who were stratified by sex and age. A covariance structural analysis was used to identify the structural relationships between attitude towards health promotion programs or services, their subjective norm and their intention to use the aforementioned services. Results : The subjective norm for using the health promotion programs or services provided by hospitals was a significant predictor of the intention to use, but the attitude towards the services was not significant Conclusions : Our results suggest that a customer's reference group affects their use of the hospital-based health promotion services. Because the subjects of this study were restricted to specific urban areas, there are limitations to generalizing the study results. Despite the limitations of these results, they can serve as baseline information for the understanding of consumers behavior toward hospital-based health promotion services.

Collected data was analyzed by using the SPSS 10.0 which is a computational statistical program. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Total knowledge points in smoking cessation program-based group are higher than any other groups and the statistical difference is significant. 2. The students' attitude points in experimental groups are higher than that of the control group and the statistical difference is significant. However, the meaningful statistical difference disappeared after 4 weeks. 3. The non-smoking students' intention points do not show any significant difference. And the smoking students' intention points in experimental groups are higher than that of the control group but the statistical difference is insignificant. 4. There are correlations among knowledge, attitude and intention toward smoking: knowledge and attitude are negatively correlated, knowledge and intention are positively correlated for non-smoking students, and for smoking students, attitude and intention have a negative correlation.

The reliabilities of instruments were adequate (Cronbach's alpha=.73-.79). Data were analyzed by t-test, $\chi2$-test and ANCOVA using SAS V8 program. Results: The results were as follows; 1. The ANCOVA models of the knowledge and attitude toward smoking were very significant to explain about education effects. 2. After the smoking prevention education, the smoking knowledge and attitude of the experimental group was significantly improved, whereas those of control group didn't. Smoking prevention education for elementary school students increased their level of smoking knowledge and desirable attitude. The purpose of this study was to investigate knowledge, attitudes and the ability of women toward breast self-examination and to identify factors that may influence the ability of breast examination. The subjects for this study were 105 women in a community health center located in Busan. Data was collected during the period from September I to 20, 2002 by means of a structured questionnaire. The data was analyzed using the SPSS WIN 10.0 program and included descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. The results of study are as follows: 1. The mean knowledge score for the total sample was 9.62 and the mean attitude score was 62.95. The mean self- practice score was 5.79. 2. Women's knowledge about breast self-examination was significantly related to attitudes and the ability of women toward breast self-examination (p<0.05). 3. The ability of women toward breast self-examination was significantly related to attitudes about breast self-examination (p<0.05). 4. According to the results of stepwise multiple regression analysis, factors affecting women's ability of breast self-examination were practice of breast self-examination and level of education and explained 19.7% of variance. From the results of this study it can be said that women need to be taught proper breast self-examination so that they can become more proficient in detecting breast abnormalities.

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic across various sectors are far-reaching, and the education sector is not an exemption. Approved and recognized vaccines are clinically proven to provide protection and have been considered one of the primary mitigations against the virus. Knowledge, attitude, and related practices (henceforth KAP) toward the virus is widely considered to be an essential cognitive key in public health for health intervention, prevention, and promotion. Previous studies revealed a positive correlation between knowledge and attitude. This study investigated the KAP and their relationship among the 857 college students in one state college in the Philippines using an online survey. Using descriptive statistics, the findings showed that the majority of the respondents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Respondents were shown to be knowledgeable about COVID-19, specifically about its transmission, clinical symptoms, treatment, risk groups, isolation, prevention, and control. Positive attitudes toward individual and governmental mitigation and control of the virus were shown. Their scores on practices revealed that they always exhibit protective and preventive behavioral practices. Pearson correlation revealed a weak significant relationship between knowledge and practice, and a fair significant relationship between attitude and practice. No significant relationship is found between knowledge and attitude. This study hopes to find its place in the literature worthy of consideration as empirical support toward understanding a specific group's perceptive risk and preventive behavior toward the virus, policy making, and health intervention and promotion.

The aim of this research is to compare the attitude toward the special needs of dental staffs between the special dental clinic (SDC) and the general dental clinic (GDC). Surveys were done on 21 dental staffs (7 dentists and 14 dental hygienists) of SDC and 47 dental staffs (10 dentists and 37 dental hygienists) of GDC. Attitudes were rated on a questionnaire with the five-point Likert scale. Mann-Whitney test was utilized for statistical analysis. In SDC, more female dentists and dental staffs who have relatives with disability were working. Dental staffs of SDC showed that the more experience they had, the more positive attitudes toward the communication with the patients with special needs (p<0.05). Dental staffs of SDC represented more active attitudes toward the oral health promotion, treatment, research and volunteering (p<0.05). In conclusion, dental staffs who have personal motivation were working in SDC and the experience of dental treatment to the patients with special needs influenced the dental staffs' attitudes toward them. In future, a research about the attitude toward the disabled with more exact scale should be followed.

Objective: The purposes of this study are to understand the characteristics of the participants in a community walking campaign and to analyze the factors related to their participation based on the Transtheoretical Model (TTM). Methods: The study composed of the description of participant characteristics and comparison of them with non-participant characteristics in a walking campaign in K province. The data were collected through a survey of 2,590 participants and 258 non-participants from the same community. The survey instrument included questions about stages of walking and exercise, knowledge and attitude toward walking, and environmental condition for walking. Results: A majority of the walking campaign participants were in the action(24.8%) and maintenance(43.6%) stages of walking and exercise behavior. The non-participant group was split between maintenance(51.6%) and precontemplation (30.6%) stages. Among the participants, effective campaign promotion channels differed by age group while motivation for participation and participation patterns were associated with both age and gender. Favorable physical environment was a significant factor of participating in walking campaign(OR=1.396, CI=1.149-1.696). Although the campaign participants scored higher than the non-participants in most attitude toward walking questions, differences in knowledge scores between two groups were less significant. Conclusion: In conclusion, further social marketing to increase the awareness and to increase the concern of population in the community is needed based on the survey result. Transtheoretical model seems appropriate to apply to the evaluation and the planning the program of the behavior change in the community. Also, more organized and sustainable support in need to maintain the good habit of walking for the participants in walking campaign.
