  • To gain knowledge about the unknown state $\theta$ of nature, we perform experiments. Sufficiency of an experiment for another experiment has been introduced for the comparison of experiments. The knoledge before and after an experiment makes it possible to discuss the amount of information provided by the experiment.

  • What is the life of an assistant professor working at a college of education look like? The purpose of this paper is to describe and understand the life of an assistant professor as a science education researcher and as a teacher educator from exploring his life in a local national university. The researcher (I) conducted an autobiographic research in which I reconstructed and reflected my life by myself. I collected data/records on the life of myself, and developed a framework to classify them. The life of an assistant professor was categorized into the official life at the university and the personal life, and the former was sorted into education, research, and service and the latter was divided into personal and family. From the various profiles of my life, I found the main theme of 'change' and 'learning,' from which I reconstructed my life in narratives. I can express myself as an assistant professor with 'from myself to others,' 'balancing society and isolation,' and 'increasing room to maneuver through continuous learning.' I reflected my life and the role of a professor at a college of education, and discussed the educational implication of the result.

  • In this paper we consider the Bayesian hypothese testing for independence and symmetry in Freund's bivariate exponential model with censored data In Bayesian testing problem we use the noninformative priors for parameters which are improper and are defined only up to arbitrary constants. And we use the recently proposed hypotheses testing criterion called the intrinsic Bayes factor. Also we derive the arithmetic and median intrinsic Bayes factors and use these results of analyze some data sets.

  • Multistage hierarchical models and Bayesian inferences about finite population total estimations are considered. Here, Gibbs sampling approach that can be used to predict the marginal posterior means needed for Bayesian inferences is proposed.

  • In the present paper an attempt has been made to improve the Mangat Strategy (1994) in view of the protection of privacy, variance and the range of .pi.. Conditions are obtained under which the proposed model is more efficient than those of warner (1965) and Mangat and Singh(1990).

  • This study was conducted to develop a speed control system of a DC motor which drove a barley seeder mounted on a combine harvester. Barley seeder mounted on a combine has been known to reduce labor and cost of barley cultivation. However, development of the seeder has been unsuccessful because the combine, a dedicated rice and barley harvester has not enough space and proper power take-off for barley seeder. To develop a barley seeder, small powered motor speed controller was required. A proximity sensor for detecting working speed of the combine and a programmable one board microprocessor was used to develope a control system. Motor parameters and motor constant, relationship between seeding rate, motor speed, groove volumes of a tested roller, torque were measured. The proximity sensor sent a frequency signal to the microprocessor. In laboratory experiments, the excitation voltage of the motor was shown not to be proportional to the size of pulse width (duty ratio). A table transforming frequency signal, that represented for working speed to proper pulse width was developed from seeding rate experiments. However, seeding rate at low frequency signal was not proportional to the working speed. Seeding rate control proportional to the frequency signal was achieved by shifting of the frequency signal.
