A Design of Air Compressor Remote Control System Using USN Technology (USN 기술을 이용한 공기압축기 원격관리 시스템 설계)

  • Compressed Air is an important energy source used in most factories nowadays. The automation trend using air compressor has been gradually increasing with the interest of the 4th industry in recent years. With the air compressor system, it is possible to construct the device at low cost and easily achieve automation and energy saving. In addition, With trend of FA, miniaturation and light weight manufacturing trend expand their use in the electronics, medical, and food sectors. Research method is to design the technology for the remote control of the following information as USN base. Development of flexible sensing module from real time observation module for fusion of IT technology in compressed air systems, design and manufacture of flexible sensing module, and realiability assessment. Design of real-time integrated management system for observation data of compressed air system - Ability to process observation data measured in real time into pre-processing and analysis data. This study expects unconventionally decreasing effect of energy cost that takes up 60~70% of air compressor layout and operation and maintenance management cost through USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technology by using optimum operational condition from real time observation module. In addition, by preventing maintenance cost from malfunction of air compressor beforehand, maintenance cost is anticipated to cut back.

Development and Application of a Web-based Expert System using Artificial Intelligence for Management of Mental Health by Korean Emigrants (해외 이민 한국인의 정신건강관리를 위한 웹기반 지능형 전문가시스템 개발 및 적용)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this project was to develop an international web-based expert system using principals of artificial intelligence and user-centered design for management of mental health by Korean emigrants. Using this system, anyone can access the system via computer access to the web. Methods: Our design process utilized principles of user-centered design with 4 phases: needs assessment, analysis, design/development/testing, and application release. A survey was done with 3,235 Korean emigrants. Focus group interviews were also conducted. Survey and analysis results guided the design of the web-based expert system. Results: With this system, anyone can check their mental health status by themselves using a personal computer. The system analyzes facts based on answers to automated questions, and suggests solutions accordingly. A history tracking mechanism enables monitoring and future analysis. In addition, this system will include intervention programs to promote mental health status. Conclusion: This system is interactive and accessible to anyone in the world. It is expected that this management system will contribute to Korean emigrants' mental health promotion and allow researchers and professionals to share information on mental health.

Current Status of Development and Practice of Artificial Intelligence Solutions for Digital Transformation of Fashion Manufacturers (패션 제조 기업의 디지털 트랜스포메이션을 위한 인공지능 솔루션 개발 및 활용 현황)

  • Rapid development of information and communication technology is leading the digital transformation (hereinafter, DT) of various industries. At this point in rapid online transition, fashion manufacturers operating offline-oriented businesses have become highly interested in DT and artificial intelligence (hereinafter AI), which leads DT. The purpose of this study is to examine the development status and application case of AI-based digital technology developed for the fashion industry, and to examine the DT stage and AI application status of domestic fashion manufacturers. Hence, in-depth interviews were conducted with five domestic IT companies developing AI technology for the fashion industry and six domestic fashion manufacturers applying AI technology. After analyzing interviews, study results were as follows: The seven major AI technologies leading the DT of the fashion industry were fashion image recognition, trend analysis, prediction & visualization, automated fashion design generation, demand forecast & optimizing inventory, optimizing logistics, curation, and ad-tech. It was found that domestic fashion manufacturers were striving for innovative changes through DT although the DT stage varied from company to company. This study is of academic significance as it organized technologies specialized in fashion business by analyzing AI-based digitization element technologies that lead DT in the fashion industry. It is also expected to serve as basic study when DT and AI technology development are applied to the fashion field so that traditional domestic fashion manufacturers showing low growth can rise again.

Artificial intelligence design for dependence of size surface effects on advanced nanoplates through theoretical framework

  • The work researched the application of artificial intelligence to the design and analysis of advanced nanoplates, with a particular emphasis on size and surface effects. Employing an integrated theoretical framework, this study developed a more accurate model of complex nanoplate behavior. The following analysis considers nanoplates embedded in a Pasternak viscoelastic fractional foundation and represents the important step in understanding how nanoscale structures may respond under dynamic loads. Surface effects, significant for nanoscale, are included through the Gurtin-Murdoch theory in order to better describe the influence of surface stresses on the overall behavior of nanoplates. In the present analysis, the modified couple stress theory is utilized to capture the size-dependent behavior of nanoplates, while the Kelvin-Voigt model has been incorporated to realistically simulate the structural damping and energy dissipation. This paper will take a holistic approach in using sinusoidal shear deformation theory for the accurate replication of complex interactions within the nano-structure system. Addressing different aspectsof the dynamic behavior by considering the length scale parameter of the material, this work aims at establishing which one of the factors imposes the most influence on the nanostructure response. Besides, the surface stresses that become increasingly critical in nanoscale dimensions are considered in depth. AI algorithms subsequently improve the prediction of the mechanical response by incorporating other phenomena, including surface energy, material inhomogeneity, and size-dependent properties. In these AI- enhanced solutions, the improvement of precision becomes considerable compared to the classical solution methods and hence offers new insights into the mechanical performance of nanoplates when applied in nanotechnology and materials science.

Design and Implementation of a Real-Time Product Defect Detection System based on Artificial Intelligence in the Press Process (프레스 공정에서 인공지능기반 실시간 제품 불량탐지 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • The pressing process is a compression process in which a product is made by applying force to a heated or unheated material to transform it into the desired shape. Due to the characteristics of press equipment that produces products through continuous compression for a short time, product defects occur continuously, and systems for solving these problems are being developed using various technologies. This paper proposes a real-time defect detection system based on an artificial intelligence algorithm that detects defects. By attaching various sensors to the press device, the relationship between equipment status and defects is defined and collected based on a big data platform. By developing an artificial intelligence algorithm based on the collected data and implementing the developed algorithm using an embedded board, we will show the practicality of the system by applying it to the actual field.

Educational Contents for Concepts and Algorithms of Artificial Intelligence

  • This study is to design and to develop the educational contents to enhance artificial intelligence literacy. First, we designed artificial intelligence education contents and constructed education programs. The contents are composed of a total of 15 lectures in 8 AI domains. The contents contain the elements of knowledge-skill-attitude, and 5 learning steps. The developed contents were organized in the form of online materials and included simulations and worksheets to directly manipulate and explore the concepts and algorithms of AI. In addition, we provided evaluation questions for each content. To examine the suitability of content, we conducted a validity test for experts. As a result of the content validity test, the overall average was .71 or higher, and the CVI value of the class suitability was .82, indicating a high validity. We are expected to use the contents developed in this study as an effective program to improve AI literacy in university liberal arts education.

LED Signage for Crime Prevention using Artificial Intelligence (범죄예방을 위한 LED 안내판에 대한 인공지능 연구)

  • As various crimes such as theft, assault, and sex crimes are increasing, each local government is installing CCTVs to prevent them, and operating and managing control centers for emergency response. When the control center detects a dangerous situation in the field, it responds immediately in connection with the police or 911. However, since it is managed by humans, the response speed is anomalous and the reality is that it is mainly used for post-processing. Therefore, through the artificial intelligence LED signage, it notifies the emergency situation at the site, and it serves as a warning function before getting help from passers-by or an accident occurs. In this paper, we design and research a warning system such as changing the lighting color of the LED signboard or making a sound by reflecting the artificial intelligence algorithm. We intend to contribute to public safety and social safety through this study.

  • This study analyzed the convergence case of AI painting and NFT art, art content created based on digital technology, an innovative technology of the 4th industrial technology, and explored its characteristics. Digital technology that innovates the paradigm of life in the 21st century is being used in creative art, and AI painting and NFT art that use it as an expression tool are changing the way they perceive and accept art. AI painting using big data and artificial intelligence technology is evolving into interactive daily art, and NFT art using blockchain and NFT technology is becoming the art of the metaverse with economic and cultural values. Therefore, this study attempted to explore various aspects and values of these digital convergence arts. For the study, representative examples of AI painting and NFT art were classified into cognitive creative AI painting and language generative AI, art economic NFTs, and art and cultural NFTs, and their characteristics, contents, and meanings were analyzed. It is hoped that the results of this study will contribute to the development of AI painting and NFT art, which are digital convergence arts.

  • The rapid emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across diverse sectors has also made its presence felt in the construction sector, where its adoption is gaining momentum at a remarkable pace. The anticipated impact of AI on decision-making processes pertinent to construction project management is considerable, necessitating a holistic understanding of AI's potential applications. As a first step towards that goal, this paper conducts a systematic literature review and in-depth content analysis of existing literature related to the applications of AI in the context of construction project management. The authors selected journal papers, technical papers, and conference proceedings published between 2010 and 2023 on the topic of Artificial Intelligence for construction project management applications. Additionally, the authors also reviewed several industry and trade publications in the same topic area. The search resulted in more than 200 relevant articles, after which the authors conducted a thorough content analysis. The results categorized applications of AI in construction project management across categories: construction productivity, construction safety, construction quality, construction document management, and construction site planning. Additionally, the review identified the current trends of AI applications in construction project management, advantages, and challenges to implementation. Understanding AI applications, advantages, and challenges to implementation helps contractors gain new insights into the efficient implementation of AI for various project management purposes.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the technology trend of artificial intelligent speaker(AI speaker) and to suggest direction of domestic AI speaker through the case study of AI speaker. As a research method, technical background was studied through literature, and then, case of AI speaker was investigated. As a result, It attempts to extend it to the visual interface. One of these attempts is attention to the built-in screen AI speaker. AI speakers should be a platform for humans and computers to interact with, not just convenience facilities. Based on the implications presented in this study, we hope to be able to use it as a reference for predicting the service development direction of domestic artificial intelligent speakers in the future.
