고효율 펄스스타트 메탈핼라이드램프(MH200W)의 음향공명현상감소 (Reduction of Acoustic Resonance Phenomena in Pulse Start MetalHalide Lamp (MH200W))

  • 메탈핼라이드램프는 고효율, 고연색성이며 집광능력이 좋다. 그러나 메탈핼라이드 램프의 단점은 아크튜브내에서 음향공명현상이 발생되는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 음향공명은 점등상태의 불안정과 기체의 심한 파동을 일으킨다. 심한 파동과 불안정한 점등으로 아크가 소멸되는 부위는 전압이 상승되고, 방전관내벽에 근접된 아크는 국부의 과열로 튜브를 금가게한다. 이 연구의 목적은 펄스스타트 메탈핼라이드램프 MH200[W]의 아크튜브내에서 음향공명을 감소시키는 것이다. 음향공명현상을 감소시키기 위하여 전자식안정기가 84.6[kHz]에서 94.2[kHz] 대역내에 있는 89[kHz]의 단독주파수인 정현고주파를 램프에 공급하기 위하여 설계되었다. 실험결과 고효율 펄스스타트 MH200[W] 램프의 방전관내에 음향공명 현상이 없었다.

  • ceramic metal halide lamps are a subset of high intensity discharge lamps so named because of their high radiance These lamps weak ionized plasma in a fire-resisting but light transmissive wrapping by the corridor of current through atomic and molecular vapors. for commercial applications, For commercial applications, the conversion of electric power to light must occur with good efficiency and with sufficient spectral content throughout the visible (380-800 nm) to permit the light so generated to render colors comparable to natural sunlight. the purpose of this paper is to carry out a study on the variation of ageing time(2000 On/Off[hr]) on the performance of 150W CMH lamps. Experimental results show that the blackening by reacting W(tungsten)with I atomic has been created in the arc tube of an ageing lamp(2000 On/Off[hr]), the arc was unstable, and increased a lamp resistance made lamp voltage increases significantly. Also, Color temperature of the ageing lamp was moved by the losses of Ho with Dy atomics and by recombination of Na with I.

  • There has been extensive experience associated with the operation of SGs wherein it was believed, based on NDE, that throughwall tube indications were present within the tubesheet. The installation of the SG tubes usually involves the development of a short interference fit, referred to as the tack expansion, at the bottom of the tubesheet. The tack expansion was usually effected by a hard rolling process and thereafter, in most instance, by the expansion of a urethane plug inserted into the tube end and compressed in the axial direction. The rolling process by its very nature is considered to be intensive with regard to metalworking at the inside surface of the tube and would be expected to lead to higher residual surface stresses. Alternate repair criteria(ARC) in the tack expansion area have been developed and applied to nuclear power plants in USA, however domestic nuclear power plants have not applied ARC for tubes in tubeheet area yet. In consideration of the degradation characteristics of tubes in the Steam Generator tubesheet, this paper suggests ARC application for tubes in the steam generator tubesheet of the domestic nuclear power plants in order to assure life time of the steam generator as well as nuclear power plants.

전류 면적차를 이용한 아크 센서의 용접선 추적에 관한 연구 (A Study of Seam Tracking by Arc Sensor Using Current Area Difference Method)

  • The response of the arc sensor using the welding current and/or welding voltage as its outputs has been obtained by the analysis and/or experiments of the static characteristics of arc sensor. But in order to improve the reliability of arc sensor, it is necessary to know its dynamic characteristics. So in this paper, it is presented the dynamic model of arc sensor including the power source, arc voltage, electrode burnoff rate, and wire feed rate. A numerical simulation of the dynamic model of arc sensor was implemented, computing the welding current with input of CTWD. The results of computer simulations and experiments of $CO_2$arc welding showed that a linear relationship between weaving center - weld line distance and current area difference was established. Additionally, a real-time weld seam tracking system interfaced with industrial welding robot was constructed, the result of the weld seam tracking experiment for weld line with an initial offset error of 5$^{\circ}$was good.

  • 최근 PCA 아크튜브를 사용한 세라믹 메탈핼라이드 램프가 개발되어 기존의 석영관 메탈핼라이드 램프의 사용 범위를 넘어 다양하게 활용되고 있다. 이에 따라 램프의 신뢰성 또한 중요한 요소로 여겨지게 됨으로 본 논문에서는 세라믹 메달핼라이드 램프의 아크튜브의 열화특성을 확인하기기 위해 램프를 가속열화 시켜 구조적 변화를 확인하였다. 이 결과 모세 관 내 Moly winding과 세라믹 아크튜브의 열팽창계수 차이로 인해 간격이 멀어지고 그 사이로 원소들이 침입하였고 이로 인해 아크튜브와 전극의 열화를 촉진하며 전극의 틀어짐을 유발하였다. 또 내부에 봉입된 희토류 금속 요오드화물이 고온에서 PCA 관벽과 반응을 일으켜 아크튜브를 부식시킴을 확인할 수 있었다.

메탈 핼라이드 램프의 순시 재점등을 위한 점화기 개발 (The Ignitor Development for Momentary Restarting of Metal Halide Lamps)

  • The most of metalhalide lamps is what the momentary restarting cannot be realized when the arc tube is in the hot condition. The discharge starting voltage of arc tube in the hot condition is much higher than in the cold condition in proportion to the gaseous pressure. Therefore it takes about ten minutes to restart the metal Halide lamps, that is to say, it is possible to start when the pressure and the temperature are decreased. But, if the lamp is restarted in the hot condition, we must supply the high voltage pulse with 15kV between the both electrodes of lamp. The proposed ignitor has two ignitors. If we connect each ignitor at the both sides, the high voltages of two different frequencies are generated. If so, when the one of the ignitor generates the highest voltage and the other applied to elecrodes of the lamp. In this way, we can restart the lamp with the voltage 15kV, even if the lamp is in the hot condition.

  • The most shortcoming of metalhalide lamps is what the instant restarting cannot be realized when the arc tube is in the hot condition. The discharge starting voltage of arc tube in the hot condition is much higher than in the cold condition. Therefore it takes about five minutes to restart the metalhalide lamps, that is to say, it is possible to start when the pressure and the temperature are decreased. But, if the lamp is restarted in the hot condition, we must supply the high voltage pulse with 20kV at the both sides of lamp. The proposed electronic ballast is consist of a electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter, a power factor correction (PFC) circuit, a flyback converter, a half-bridge inverter, and a high voltage igniter circuit. By this composition we can restart the lamp with the voltage 20kV, even if the lamp is in the hot condition.

  • In this study. the fatigue lives of two kinds of specimens made by $CO^2$ gas weld were assessed. The materials for two kinds of specimens were taken out of the virgin carbon steel tubes and the used carbon steel tubes respectively. As a result, it was found that the fatigue lives of two groups of specimens were in the same order of magnitude.

  • An irradiation test of a nuclear fuel rod having external and internal tube structure was planned for a performance. To establish fabrication process satisfying the requirements of irradiation test, micro-TIG welding system for fuel rods was developed, and preliminary welding experiments for optimizing process conditions of fuel rod was performed. Fuel rods with 15.9mm diameter and 0.57mm wall thickness of cladding tubes and end caps have been used and optimum conditions of endcap welding have been selected. In this experiment, the qualification test was performed by tensile tests, helium leak inspections, and metallography examinations to qualify the endcap welding procedure. The soundness of the welds quality of a dual cooled fuel rods has been confirmed by mechanical tests and microstructural examinations.
