플립러닝형 프로젝트 기반학습을 적용한 수업 설계: Digital Painting Tool 수업을 중심으로 (Class Design Applying Flipped Learning Combined with Project-Based Learning: Focusing on Digital Painting Tool for Class)

  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution era requires people to have the ability of integrated thinking, critics, sensitivity, and creativity in an integrated manner. Therefore, teaching methods are expected to become more suitable for the trend. In this belief, current teacher-leading education method should move to students' self motivating one and consist of programs in which students voluntarily involve. In this reason, this study suggests FPBL educational method model that is combines project-based learning with flipped learning by analysing preceding research and digital painting tool class was designed by applying it. As a result of applying the designed class model to the class, all of the class satisfaction, effectiveness, and interaction were evaluated positively. Problems such as limitations of project classes due to non-face-to-face classes, large amount of learning before class, and reduced concentration during class were found. Therefore, when the FPBL class model is conducted non-face-to-face, it will be necessary to further strengthen the role of the instructor, provide lecture videos summarizing the core contents, and improve concentration by providing active participation and fun using various digital tools. The result of the study looks significant by confirming the possibility of applying FPBL model not only in design education but also other educational settings.

페인팅 매체 프로파일을 이용한 스트로크 기반 렌더링에 관한 연구 (A Study on Stroke Based Rendering Using Painting Media Profile)

  • 본 논문에서는 브러시 스트로크 프로파일을 이용한 새로운 스트로크 기반 표현기법을 소개한다. 우리가 제안하는 알고리즘은 이미지 검색기법에 기반하고 있으며 단순하지만 다양한 페인팅 스타일을 생성할 수 있는 유연성과 확장성이 있는 알고리즘 이다. 이를 위해 우리는 실제 스트로크 데이터를 수집하여 구축한 확장 가능한 데이터베이스를 사용한다. 그리고 인력영상을 데이터베이스에 있는 스트로크의 조합으로 재생산 한다. 이때 적합한 스트로크를 결정하는 검색 프로세스와 검색된 스트로크를 캔버스에 그릴지 말지를 판단하는 판단 프로세스를 알고리즘에 포함시킨다. 또한 우리는 물리적인 시뮬레이션 없이 사용할 수 있는 시각적 효과가 좋은 효율적인 브러시 스트로크 모델 및 표현기술을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 다양한 사용자 파라미터를 제어함으로써 다양한 회화적 작품의 변이를 만들어 낼 수 있고 스트로크 데이터베이스의 구성을 변경함으로써 다양한 회화적 매체의 스타일을 갖는 결과물을 생산할 수 있는 확장성 있는 프레임워크를 제공한다.

민화 효제도 문양을 활용한 T셔츠의 선호도와 감성 이미지 (Preference and Clothing Images for T-shirts Utilizing Hyojemunja Textile Pattern)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate preference and clothing images for T-shirts utilizing Hyojemunja Textile Pattern. The results of this study showed that the secondary students who participate in the study had low interest in Folk-painting and that the female students were more willing to buy T-shirts utilizing The Hyojemunja Textile Pattern than the others. Secondary students preferred letters-pattern to other ones of T-shirts and they opted for the patterns with black curve scripts and the patterns located in upper parts of T-shirts. However, the participants considered straight scripts more sophisticated, unique and feminine than curve scripts and therefore, this awareness helped them become more interested in Hyojemunja Textile Pattern. The findings of the study may suggest T-shirts utilizing Hyojemunja Textile Pattern can give those who have a low interest in Folk-painting increased chances to learn Folk-painting in secondary education.

Virtual Reality Content-Based Training for Spray Painting Tasks in the Shipbuilding Industry

  • Training is one of the representative application fields of virtual reality technology where users can have virtual experience in a training task and working environment. Widely used in the medical and military fields, virtual-reality-based training systems are also useful in industrial fields, such as the aerospace industry, since they show superiority over real training environments in terms of accessibility, safety, and cost. The shipbuilding industry is known as a labor-intensive industry that demands a lot of skilled workers. In particular, painting jobs in the shipbuilding industry require a continuous supplement of human resources since many workers leave due to the poor working environment. In this paper, the authors present a virtual-reality-based training system for spray painting tasks in the shipbuilding industry. The design issues and implementation details of the training system are described, and also its advantages and shortcomings are discussed based on use cases in actual work fields.

회화 복원용 교의 적용이 종이 특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Animal Glues Application for Painting Restoration on Paper Characteristics)

  • Artists have been used animal glues for a long time as binding and sizing materials of paintings in many countries including Korea. Since animal glues as a binding material lose their own adhesive strength by aging, pigment particles or pigment layers are easily detached from painting surface. Restaurators prefer to use animal glues for consolidation of pigment particles or pigment layers because artists use animal glues as a binder for their painting works. It is widely known that animal glues have different characteristics such as viscosity, stability on water etc. But there are still a few requirements to consider their stabilities for the restoration of paintings. Therefore, this study was aimed to evaluate of stability and efficiency of animal glue applications. The efficiency of animal glue application was decreased with increasing the concentration of animal glue solution. This result means the simple tendency, but does not representative data for other animal glues made from same raw materials. In most cases, the surface and mechanical characteristics of animal glues are dependent on some factors, like viscosity and concentration of animal glue solution.

A Multi-Layered Framework for color pastel painting

  • We present a computerized framework for producing color pastel painting from the visual information extracted from a photograph. To express color pastel painting, we propose a multi-layered framework where each layer possesses pastel stroke patterns of different colors. The stroke patterns in the separate layers are merged by a rendering equation based on a participating media rendering scheme. To produce the stroke patterns in each layer, we review the physical properties of pastels and the mechanism of a convolution framework, which is the most widely used scheme to simulate stick-shaped media such as pencils. We devise the following computational models to extend the convolution framework to produce pastel strokes: a bold noise model, which mimics heavy and clustered deposition of pigment, and a thick convolution filter model, which produces various pastel stroke patterns. We also design a stochastic color coordination scheme to mimic pastel artists' color expression and to separate strokes in different layers. To demonstrate the soundness of approach, we conduct several experiments using the models and compare the results with existing works or real pastel paintings. We present the results for several pastel paintings to demonstrate the excellent performance of our framework.

PDPA를 이용한 도장의 최적 조건에 관한 실험 (Experimental Study for the Optimum Conditions of Painting Using Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer)

  • The automotive industry as the major industry of the nation has affected both society and economy since the automobile was invented, and the main technique that help to performance improvement of the automobile has been developed. But, the painting technique lags behind the main technique of the automobile because that was neglected. Specially, we can say that in case of the painting technique of the automobile of our nation is so weak situation. After we changed the injecting pressure, the composition ratio (paint, hardener, thinner) and the injecting flow rate from spray-gun by PDPA, we studied the character of the injecting velocity and droplet size, and found the fittest condition. So, we got the following result to help mending paint technique of automobile surface. We could know the following fact from the experiment result. When it does mending paint of automobile, there is most suitable that to inject the paint as injecting pressure 200∼300 kPa and to inject the ratio of paint 10 : 1 : 1 when the fluid adjective knob valve spay-gun is open full.

"왕세자출궁도"의 복식 연구 II - 복식을 중심으로 - (The Study of Costumes in Wangseja chulgungdo II -Centering Around Its Costumes-)

  • As we analyzed the formalities of court dress during King Soonjo's rule through the characters depicted in $\boxDr$Wangseja Chulgungdo$\boxUl$(The Painting for a Crown Prince's Outgoing for Schooling to Sungkyunkwan) the results were as follows: People wore their appropriate full dress ac-cording to the ceremonial procedures. In the case of a Crown Prince normally the wore Gongjungchaek(a hat) (after the coming-of-age ceremony Iksunkwan) and Gonryongpo(imperial clothes) to show his status as a Crown Prince. He wore chugkumbok(a Coat) to indicate a Crown Prince as being a student. on an occasion of celebration a Crown Prince wore Wonyugwan and Gangsapo to provide him with prestige and as a sign of respect for the occasion. The teacher of a Crown Prince also wore Gongbok and Sangbok accoding to the dress requirements of the ceremonies. We can confirm that the Gongbok system of all government officials had been main-tained in the late Chosun dynasty. We know that the form of ceremonies be-came simplified in the late Chosun dynasty. it was recorded that students had to wear Chungkumbok. but we knew from the painting that students actually wore Dopo(a traditonal korean coat). We knew through this painting that the court dress rules of the late Chosun dynasty varied that previously known. As we concluded above research on the his-tory of costume by analyzing paintings both supplements our knowledge of the topic and confirms the deficiency in the study of the his-tory of costume based solely upon literature and books.

Ukiyo-e - Oriental Art that Has Been Influencing the World

  • Ukiyo-e, a pivotal facet of Japanese art, had a profound impact on Western art during the 19th century, contributing to the emergence of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. Notably, Katsushika Hokusai's "Great Wave" remains an enduring masterpiece. Ukiyo-e's historical trajectory is intricately linked to the socio-cultural context of its time. Japan's early artistic influences derived from China, evolving through the Nara and Heian periods. Ukiyo-e emerged from the Yamato-e tradition, characterized by its transition from religious themes to secular subjects. Zen Buddhism's influence during the Muromachi Shogunate shifted focus to ink wash painting, which eventually became accessible to the masses. The Azuchi-Momoyama period introduced lavish, colorful works. The Edo Shogunate upheld Kano School for the elite, while folklore painting gained popularity among the commoners, leading to the creation of Ukiyo-e. Ukiyo-e diversified its subjects, including beauty, geisha, sumo, landscapes, and more. The Asakusa district's "Shin-Yoshiwara" added to its vibrant themes. By the late 19th century, Ukiyo-e transcended its roots, encompassing landscapes, wildlife, and beyond. I explore Ukiyo-e's aesthetics and its influence on Impressionism, focusing on "The Three Masters of Ukiyo-e" - Kiyotagawa Komaro, Katsushika Hokusai, and Utagawa Hiroshige.

  • Vehicle manufacturing plant is a typical mixed-model production system. Generally it consists of three main shops including body shop, painting shop and assembly shop in addition to engine shop. Each shop contains diverse manufacturing processes, all of which are integrated in a form of flow line. Due to the high pressure from the market requesting small-volume large variety production, production planning becomes very critical for the competitiveness of automotive industry. In order to save costs and production time, production planning system is requested to meet some designated requirements for each shop: to balance the work load in body and assembly shops, and to minimize the number of color changes in painting shop. In this context, we developed a sequencing module for a vehicle production planning system using the ILOG Solver Library. It is designed to take into account all the manufacturing constraints at a time with meeting hard constraints in body shop, minimizing the number of soft constraints violated in assembly shop, and minimizing the number of color changes in painting shop.
