포트폴리오 과정 및 평가에 대한 학생의 만족도조사 (A Survey of Student Satisfaction with a Portfolio Process and Assessment)

  • The purposes of this study were to identify and analyze students' attitudes and satisfaction to the portfolio process and assessment for the Introduction to Clinical Medicine course at Ewha Womans University School of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. The subjects consisted of 64 medical school students. Questionnaires consisting of 20 5-point Likert-type items were developed, including three question domains: 1) orientation, 2) portfolios in general, 3) individualized feedback. The mean and median were found and frequency analysis was performed to identify the common characteristics of the participants. A major finding was that 54.7% of the respondents felt that the self-reflection involved in building the portfolio was a valuable learning experience. Plus, the majority of respondents perceived that the individualized feedback had a positive tone and its contents were specific, practical, and constructive. The students perceived that building and writing portfolios heightened their understanding of exit learning outcomes and enhanced their reflective thinking and self-directed learning skills. Meanwhile, some students perceived that there was too much paperwork in the portfolio process and that the process was time consuming. Furthermore, 32.8% of the respondents said that they had difficulty establishing their learning strategies by themselves and self-directing their learning during the portfolio process. In conclusion, it is expected that building a portfolio can help students not only to enhance their ability to accumulate and use their personal learning resources but also to develop the professional qualities required by doctors, such as self-directed learning, self-reflection, lifelong learning, team work, organizational skills, time management and prioritization, and professional thinking and behavior.

블렌디드 액션러닝프로그램이 대학생의 자기주도적 학습능력에 미치는 영향 (An effect of Blended Action Learning Program on the Self Directed Learning Skills)

  • 본 연구는 블렌디드 액션러닝프로그램이 대학생의 자기주도적 학습능력 향상에 미치는 영향을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 수도권 D 대학의 사범대학 학생들을 대상으로 실험집단 30명, 통제집단 30명을 구성하여 연구를 수행하였다. 연구대상의 평균연령은 22.3세이며, 2-4학년 재학생으로 인구통계학적 배경은 비교적 동질적이다. 교육사회학(교직과목) 수업에서 실험을 수행하였다. 연구는 학기 초에 자기주도적 학습 능력을 사전 검사하였다. 이후에 실험집단은 블렌디드 액션러닝프로그램으로 수업을 진행하였고, 통제집단은 액션러닝프로그램으로 수업을 진행하였다. 학기가 종료되는 시기에 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 사전 검사 점수를 고려하여 집단 간 사후 검사 점수를 비교하기 위해 공분산분석(ANCOVA)을 수행하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 대학생들의 자기주도적 학습능력 향상을 위해서는 액션러닝프로그램 보다 블렌디드 액션러닝프로그램이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인지적, 경험적 수준이 낮은 학습자 대상의 수업에서는 액션러닝프로그램 보다 블렌디드 액션러닝프로그램이 더욱 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학습자원 관리와 학습전략 활용 측면에서는 액션러닝프로그램과 블렌디드 액션러닝프로그램 공히 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 내용을 종합해볼 때 대학생의 자기주도적 학습능력을 향상하기 위해서는 다양한 교수방법 중 전통적 집단강의보다 학습자들의 참여 및 실천학습 방법인 액션러닝프로그램이 효과적인 교수방법이지만, 대학생들의 지적, 경험적 측면의 초보적 수준을 고려할 때 블렌디드 액션러닝프로그램의 적극적 활용이 요구된다.

  • 이 논문은 인도의 공예분야 사회적기업 인더스트리 크래프트가 정부 보조금 의존에서 벗어나 지난 30년간 어떻게 수익을 창출하고 글로벌 사회적기업으로 지속가능한 성장이 가능했는지를 분석한 논문이다. 분석을 통해 도출한 성공요인들은 다음과 같다. 첫 번째 요인은 이해관계자들의 가치 창출로서 사회적 미션을 목표로 각 이해관계자들의 가치를 최우선 고려하였으며 가치를 상호간 공유했다는 점이다. 두 번째 요인은 독특한 내부경영방식으로서 더 많은 부가가치 창출을 위해 조직체계에 독특한 비즈니스 모형과 4P전략을 도입하고 생산자집단의 자립을 돕는 경영방식을 도입했다는 것이다. 세 번째 요인은 학습 및 혁신문화 조성으로서 변화를 두려워하지 않고 끊임 없이 새로운 디자인 전략을 세워 도전하고 시행착오를 조직학습으로 이끈 학습문화를 구축했다는 점이다. 마지막 네 번째 요인은 시의적절한 재정 및 자원의 확보로서 규모 확대 시기 때마다 민간기업과의 제휴 및 투자 유치, 충분한 기술인력자원 확보 등 적절한 재정 및 자원을 확보했던 점을 들 수 있다.

A Review of Scientific Evidence on Indoor Air of School Building: Pollutants, Sources, Health Effects and Management

  • Schools are one of the critical social infrastructures in a society, the first place for social activity and the most important indoor environment for children besides the home. Poor IAQ in classrooms can increase the chance of long-term and short-term health problems for students and staffs; affects productivity of teachers; and degrade the student learning environment and comfort levels. The primary objective of this paper is to review and summarize available scientific evidence on indoor air quality of schools and related health effects in children. It was found that the indoor air pollutant levels in school buildings varied over a wide range in different parts of the world depending on site characteristics, climatic conditions, outdoor pollution levels, occupant activities, ventilation type and building practices. Among the indoor air pollutants, particulate matter concentrations were found to be very high in many schools. Outdoor pollutant sources also play a major role in affecting the IAQ of the school building. Hence, scientific knowledge on sources of indoor pollutants, quantification of emissions, temporal and spatial dispersion of pollutants, toxicological properties, chemical and morphological characteristics of the pollutants and associated health risk among children in the school buildings are essential to evaluate the adequacy and cost effectiveness of control strategies for mitigating the IAQ issues.

Spatio-Temporal Projection of Invasion Using Machine Learning Algorithm-MaxEnt

  • Climate change and invasive alien plant species (IAPs) are having a significant impact on mountain ecosystems. The combination of climate change and socio-economic development is exacerbating the invasion of IAPs, which are a major threat to biodiversity loss and ecosystem functioning. Species distribution modelling has become an important tool in predicting the invasion or suitability probability under climate change based on occurrence data and environmental variables. MaxEnt modelling was applied to predict the current suitable distribution of most noxious weed A. adenophora (Spreng) R. King and H. Robinson and analysed the changes in distribution with the use of current (year 2000) environmental variables and future (year 2050) climatic scenarios consisting of 3 representative concentration pathways (RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5) in Bhutan. Species occurrence data was collected from the region of interest along the road side using GPS handset. The model performance of both current and future climatic scenario was moderate in performance with mean temperature of wettest quarter being the most important variable that contributed in model fit. The study shows that current climatic condition favours the A. adenophora for its invasion and RCP 2.6 climatic scenario would promote aggression of invasion as compared to RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 climatic scenarios. This can lead to characterization of the species as preferring moderate change in climatic conditions to be invasive, while extreme conditions can inhibit its invasiveness. This study can serve as reference point for the conservation and management strategies in control of this species and further research.

Relationships between milk consumption and academic performance, learning motivation and strategy, and personality in Korean adolescents

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: A healthy diet has been reported to be associated with physical development, cognition and academic performance, and personality during adolescence. This study was performed to investigate the relationships among milk consumption and academic performance, learning motivation and strategies, and personality among Korean adolescents. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The study was divided into two parts. The first part was a survey on the relationship between milk consumption and academic performance, in which intakes of milk and milk products and academic scores were examined in percentiles among 630 middle and high school students residing in small and medium-sized cities in 2009. The second part was a survey on the relationships between milk consumption and learning motivation and strategy as well as personality, in which milk consumption habits were collected and Learning Motivation and Strategy Test (L-MOST) for adolescents and Total Personality Inventory for Adolescents (TPI-A) were conducted in 262 high school students in 2011. RESULTS: In the 2009 survey, milk and milk product intakes of subjects were divided into a low intake group (LM: ${\leq}60.2g/day$), medium intake group (MM: 60.3-150.9 g/day), and high intake group (HM: ${\geq}151.0g/day$). Academic performance of each group was expressed as a percentile, and performance in Korean, social science, and mathematics was significantly higher in the HM group (P < 0.05). In the 2011 survey, the group with a higher frequency of everyday milk consumption showed significantly higher "learning strategy total," "testing technique," and "resources management technique" scores (P < 0.05) in all subjects. However, when subjects were divided by gender, milk intake frequency, learning strategy total, class participation technique, and testing technique showed significantly positive correlations (P < 0.05) in boys, whereas no correlation was observed in girls. Correlations between milk intake frequency and each item of the personality test were only detected in boys, and milk intake frequency showed positive correlations with "total agreeability", "organization", "responsibility", "conscientiousness", and "intellectual curiosity" (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Intakes of milk and milk products were correlated with academic performance (Korean, social science, and mathematics) in Korean adolescents. In male high school students, particularly, higher milk intake frequency was positively correlated with learning motivation and strategy as well as some items of the personality inventory.

미국의 4-H 캠핑지도자의 역할에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the 4-H Camping Leader's Role in USA)

  • The 4-H camping programs in USA have been providing various resources so that members can achieve their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential. The camping programs have been carried out members to participate in programs as responsible citizens in their local, national and international communities. One of the key requirements of successful youth camping was the leadership role of leaders with more conscious and systematic for preparing, equipping, and carrying out programs. This paper was intended to explore the goals of 4-H camping and leaders' role in USA, and give implications to Korean outdoor activities. To perform the 4-H camping effectively, the camping leaders need to focus on the following steps: First of all, they need to recognize the specific purposes and missions of participation in the 4-H camping. Secondly, they should make sense of the site-based teaching skills and its application in the field. Thirdly. they should set up the principles of effective camping strategies and abide by the steps in the process of activities. In addition, they should be qualified to handle the risk management skills, research and survey technology, and environment conservation efforts throughout the camping.

Formation of the Digital Generation in a Distance Learning Environment

  • This article is devoted to the study of the process of formation of the digital generation in a distance learning environment. With the introduction of quarantine due to the spread of COVID-19, opponents of digital technologies were forced to turn to relevant resources, while supporters identified new opportunities for the development of didactics and education in general. The irreversibility of the former educational reality became apparent and only the scale of the vision of potential change by interested and disinterested groups differed. Using a comprehensive approach, the authors consider the issues related to the direct and indirect impact of distance learning on children and young people born after the beginning of the XXI century. The article reveals the prerequisites and implications of distance education for the interaction of participants in the educational process. IC technologies during the educational process in the primary grades, in addition to identifying the student's learning deficit, should provide the transmission of non-verbal signals, which are important for children of this age. At the same time in the secondary school IR-technologies are designed to replace frontal learning during the assimilation of knowledge and at the same time not to worsen the quality of the educational process. Formation of students in the HEI takes place in the political science format, constant discussion of problem situations, so the task of introducing IC technology in this process is the accurate transfer of the content of the discussions. Individualization and autonomization of the educational process, its dependence on the results of the choice of educational content, and the use of pedagogical management tools change the philosophy of education for children and youth. The authors conclude that the formation of a digital generation, characterized by an increased level of digital literacy of children and youth, the possession of a certain level of digital capacity requires the use of strategies aimed at optimizing the learning process in a digital educational environment.

창업마케팅특성이 기업성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Marketing Characteristic on Business Performance)

  • 우리나라의 신생기업은 5년 후 생존율이 29.6%로 낮아진다. 이는 초기의 창업기업들이 중견기업에 비해 자원이 풍부하지 못하기 때문에 생존율이 낮다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 창업기업의 마케팅특성이 주요 원인으로 부각되고 있다. 이번 연구에서는 학습지향성, 마케팅경험, 경쟁지향성 등은 창업기업에 따라 다르게 소유하고 있으며, 특히 창업기업의 경우 마케팅전략에 미치는 영향은 다르게 조사될 수 있다고 판단되어 학습지향성, 마케팅경험, 경쟁지향성이 창업기업의 마케팅전략에 미치는 관계를 검정하였다. 이를 바탕으로 기업성과를 측정하여 창업기업의 대표자들에게 창업기업의 생태계에 관련된 내용을 시사하고자 하는데 목적을 두었다. 본 연구의 표본은 2015년도를 기준으로 창업한지 3년 6개월 이내의 창업기업가들을 대상으로 2015년 11월 20일부터 12월 20일까지 창업 기업 종사자 250명을 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 이를 데이터클리닝 한 결과 207개의 표본을 대상으로 SPSS 20.0 통계프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관관계분석 및 회귀분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 독립변수인 창업기업의 마케팅환경이 매개변수인 마케팅전략에 미치는 영향은 학습지향성, 마케팅경험, 경쟁지향성에 있어 제품전략, 유통 전략, 촉진전략에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 매개변수인 마케팅전략이 종속변수인 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 제품전략, 유통전략, 촉진전략은 재무성과와 비재무성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 마케팅전략의 매개효과는 학습지향성, 마케팅경험, 경쟁지향성이 재무성과에 미치는 영향에 있어서 제품전략과 유통전략이 확실한 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 조사되었으며, 학습 지향성과 마케팅경험, 경쟁지향성이 비재무성과에 미치는 영향에 있어서 제품전략만이 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 조사되었다. 연구결과의 요약을 종합해보면 창업기업이 기업의 성과를 높이기 위해서 마케팅전략을 펼쳐야 하는데 특히 학습지향성과 마케팅경험이 중요시되며 창업마케팅특성이 기업성과를 높이는데 있어서 제품전략과 유통전략이 재무성과를 높일 수 있다. 그리고 제품전략은 재무성과와 비재무성과를 높인다고 볼 수 있다. 이에 창업기업 마케팅특성을 수행하는데 있어서 기업의 성과를 높이기 위해 창업마케팅특성에 따른 마케팅전략을 펼치는 것이 바람직하다고 사료된다.

대학도서관 사서를 위한 전문 계속교육과정 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Curriculum Development of Continuing Education for Academic Librarians in Korea)

  • 도서관 정보 환경의 발전에 따라 서비스를 개선하고 이용자 요구를 충족시키기 위해 사서들은 필수적으로 계속교육 프로그램에 참여하고 있다. 대학도서관사서들을 위한 계속교육 교과과정을 개발하기 위하여, 국내외 선행연구와 현행 계속교육 프로그램 사례를 고찰하였으며. 우리나라 대학도서관 사서들을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하여 교육 요구 주제를 식별하였다. 분석 결과를 기초로. 학습자를 중간관리자와 실무자로 구분하여 각각 계속교육 교과과정을 개발하였다. 중간관리자를 위한 교과과정은 9개 영역 27개 과목으로 구성되었으며 실무자를 위한 교과과정은 7개 영역 25개 과목으로 구성되었다. 또한 수요가 높은 부문을 직급별로 하나씩 선택하여, '도서관 마케팅'과 '디지털정보자원 구축 및 관리' 과정에 대한 구체적인 교육프로그램 모델을 개발하였다. 교육프로그램 모델에서는 교육목표. 교육내용, 교수학습 전략, 교육시간, 교수방법과 도구 강사진 등에 관한 사항을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 계속교육의 정착과 발전을 위한 방안을 제언하였다.
