MODI를 활용한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 수업 운영 및 만족도 (Operation and Satisfaction of Physical Computing Classes Using MODI)

  • Recently, the Internet of Things is attracting attention as an important key technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and SW education using physical computing is suggested as a good alternative to supplement the problems raised by beginners in programming education. Among the many teaching tools that can be used for physical computing education, MODI is a modular manufacturing tool that anyone can easily assemble like Lego. MODI is a teaching tool that can improve learners' achievement by linking a self-linked block-type code editor called MODI Studio to lay the foundation for programming in a relatively small amount of time and immediately check the results in person. In this paper, a physical computing education method using MODI was designed to be applied to basic programming courses for programming beginners and applied to after-school classes for middle school students. As a result, it was found that students' interest and satisfaction were much higher in physical computing classes using MODI than in text-based programming classes. It can be seen that physical computing education that allows beginners to see and feel the results in person is more effective than grammar-oriented text programming, and it can have a positive effect on improving basic programming skills by increasing students' participation.

Visualization of University Curriculum for Multidisciplinary Learning: A Case Study of Yonsei University, South Korea

  • As the significance of knowledge convergence continues to grow, universities are making efforts to develop methods that promote multidisciplinary learning. To address this educational challenge, our paper applies network theory and text mining techniques to analyze university curricula and introduces a graphical syllabus rendering method. Visualizing the course curriculum provides a macro and structured perspective for individuals seeking alternative educational pathways within the existing system. By visualizing the relationships among courses, students can explore different combinations of courses with comprehensive search support. To illustrate our approach, we conduct a detailed demonstration using the syllabus database of Yonsei University. Through the application of our methods, we create visual course networks that reveal the underlying structure of the university curriculum. Our results yield insights into the interconnectedness of courses across various academic majors at Yonsei University. We present both macro visualizations, covering 18 academic majors, and visualizations for a few selected majors. Our analysis using Yonsei University's database not only showcases the value of our methodology but also serves as a practical example of how our approach can facilitate multidisciplinary learning.

아이핀 대량 부정발급 사고에 대한 개선방법 연구 (A Study of the Improvement Method of I-pin Mass Illegal Issue Accident)

  • The almost of Web page has been gathered the personal information(Korean resident registration number, name, cell-phone number, home telephone number, E-mail address, home address, etc.) using the membership and log-in. The all most user of Web page are concerned for gathering of the personal information. I-pin is the alternative means of resident registration number and has been used during the last ten-year period in the internet. The accident of I-pin mass illegal issue was happened by hacker at February, 2015. In this paper, we analysis the problems of I-pin system about I-pin mass illegal issue accident and propose a improvement method of it. First, I-pin issue must be processed by the off-line of face certification in spite of user's inconvenience. Second, I-pin use must be made up through second certification of password or OTP. The third, the notification of I-pin use must be sent to the user by the text messaging service of cell-phone or the E-mail. The forth, I-pin must be used an alternative means of Korean resident registration number in Internet. The methods can reduce the problems of I-pin system.

추진축설계(推進軸設計)에 관(關)한 각선급협회규칙(各船級協會規則)의 비교연구(比較硏究) (A Comparative Study of the Rules of Ship Classification Societies on the Propeller Shaft Design.)

  • Since the screw propellers were adopted as ship propulsion devices, the replacement of propeller shaft due to damage was mostly of fatigue failure due to the alternative stresses [1],[2]. To prevent such a failure, hence, it is suggested that careful attention should be paid to account of the alternative stresses on the design stage of the propeller shafts. In connection with this fact the Ship Classification Societies' Rules are regarded simply as guidance for preliminary determination of the shaft diameter. In this paper, limiting the topic to the small and medium-sized motor ships, an evaluation of the Rules formulae to a theoretical based on Soderberg's correlation [5] between the factor of safety and the resultant stresses obtained by application of the maximum shear theory is done. For this purpose eleven (11) ships built recently in Korea were taken as a species(refer to table 2. in text). In the end the following conclusions are made: (1) In general the Rules formulae give considerably larger size of the propeller shaft diameter than that derived from theoretical calculation, that is, about 7% more in AB and BV Rules, and about 20% more in LR and KR-NK Rules. (2) LR Rule gives the largest size of all, and AB Rule is mostly closed value to the theoretical. (3) The formular of the AB Rule is considered to be of the simplest in utilization and of the reasonable.

휴대전화 이용이 자세조절에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Using a Mobile Phone on Postural Control)

  • In daily activities, people often perform two or more tasks simultaneously. This is referred to as dual-tasking or multi-tasking. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of performing dual tasks while using a mobile phone on static and dynamic postural stability. Twenty-four subjects were asked to stand on a force plate and then instructed to perform a balance task only (BT), a balance task while listening to music (BTL), a balance task while talking on the mobile phone (BTT), and a balance task while sending text messages (BTS). We used the BioRescue$^{(R)}$ to measure postural sway and limit of stability for static and dynamic postural stability. Also the star excursion balance test (SEBT) was used to measure dynamic postural stability. A one-way ANOVA with repeated measures was used to compare the effects of the BT, BTL, BTT, and BTS. The Bonferroni's post hoc test was used to determine the differences among four tasks. Carrying out the BTS significantly decreased the limit of stability compared with carrying out the BT, BTL, and BTT (p<.05). In limit of stability, total surface area of BTT was more significantly decreased than that of BT and total surface area of BTS was more decreased than that of BT, BTL and BTT (p<.05). In the SEBT, the BTS displayed significantly smaller reach distance values compared with the BT or BTL (p<.05). These findings suggest that performing the balance task while sending text message on the mobile phone decreases dynamic postural stability, whereas performing the same task while listening to music using the mobile phone does not. Therefore, it requires more attention to maintain dynamic balance while sending text messages.

훔쳐보기 방지를 위한 한글 패스워드 시스템 (Hangul Password System for Preventing Shoulder-Surfing)

  • 전통적인 텍스트 기반 패스워드들은 가장 일반적인 인증 방법으로 사용되고 있음에도 불구하고, 추측, 사전공격, 키 로거, 훔쳐보기와 같은 심각한 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위한 대안으로 그래피컬 패스워드에 대한 연구 및 개발이 이루어져 왔다. 하지만 그래피컬 패스워드는 전통적인 텍스트 기반 패스워드에 비해 오히려 훔쳐보기 공격에 더 취약하다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 훔쳐보기 방지를 위한 한글 기반의 새로운 패스워드 입력 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 패스워드로 한글을 사용하고, 사용자가 패스워드를 직접 입력하는 대신 회전하는 그리드 상에 패스워드를 위치시키도록 한다. 제안 방법은 로그인 화면에서 사용자의 패스워드를 유인 문자와 함께 보여줌으로써 공격자가 패스워드를 훔쳐보는 것을 어렵게 만든다. 본 논문에서는 제안 방법에 대한 무작위 공격, 사전공격 및 훔쳐보기 공격에 대한 안전성을 분석하였으며, 분석 결과는 이들 공격에 대해 안전하다는 것을 보여준다.

미디어교육모형에 기초한 기독교대학 글쓰기교육모형 개발을 위한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on Development of a Writing Education Model for Christian Universities Based on Media Education Models)

  • 본 연구는 Hobbs의 미디어교육 모형과 Vanhoozer의 미디어텍스트 분석모형에 기초하여 기독교대학 글쓰기 교육모형을 개발하여 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구가 개발한 모형은 기독교 세계관 수립, 접근, 분석과 평가, 창작, 성찰, 사회적 실천의 6 단계로 구성되어 있으며 기독교대학의 교양과목인 "독서와 글쓰기" 과목에 적합하도록 개발되었다. 개발된 모형은 소리, 이미지, 글자 등의 복합텍스트의 비판적 '수용'을 토대로 대안적 '창작'을 주요 활동으로 하는 미디어텍스트 글쓰기 교육에 적합한 모형으로 기독교대학이 추구하는 교육 목적인 지성, 덕성, 영성이 조화된 인재형을 양성할 수 있도록 구안되었다. 이 모형은 새 시대에 맞도록 학생 친화적이면서도 융합적인 텍스트 쓰기를 지향하고 있으며 대학에서 강조되어야 할 다양한 유형의 문자 글쓰기 역량 역시 제고할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.

비만 중재 관련 무작위배정 비교임상연구 보고의 spin 연구 (Spin in Randomised Clinical Trial Reports of Interventions for Obesity)

  • Objectives : To identify the prevalence and types of spin in randomised controlled trials(RCTs) of obesity with statistically non-significant results for primary outcomes to provide adequate reporting directions. Methods : Spin is specific reporting strategy that could lead the readers to misinterpret the results of RCTs. RCTs on obesity with statistically non-significant primary outcomes published from July 2015 to June 2016 were retrieved from PubMed. All included RCTs were classified into 3 intervention categories. The identification and classification of spin in the included articles was performed by two independent researchers. Results : Among 46 RCTs with statistically non-significant primary outcomes, 32 studies were assessed as having at least one spin in title, abstract or main text. Of these, 9 articles were on complementary and alternative medicine, 7 on western medicine and 16 on dietary supplement and exercise. The frequency of spin among the types of interventions was similar. The most common type of spin was 'focusing on statistical significance within-group comparison' in results section of abstract and main text, and 'focusing only on treatment effectiveness with no consideration of statistical significance' in conclusion section of abstract and main text. Studies where random sequence generation was appropriately done was less likely to have spin. Conclusions : As a majority of obesity RCTs have spin, researchers should pay more attention to adequately interpreting and reporting statistically non-significant results.

의미망 활동과 수준별 학습을 통한 영어 독해력 향상 방안 (The way to improve EFL reading skill: Focusing on semantic mapping and leveled group activities)

  • This paper is to suggest the way to improve EFL reading skill through semantic mapping by leveled group activities. Semantic mapping is a categorical structuring of information in graphic forms or diagrams. It can be used to activate and organize background knowledge on topics in classrooms. For small group activities, the class is divided into higher leveled groups and lower leveled groups of four members based on their grades. The teaching process has three stages: Pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading. In the pre-reading stage, students discuss what they know about the topic. They map ideas with a brainstorming technique. In the while-reading stage, they read the text about the topic. While they are reading, they could ask some questions they might have and discuss the information in the text and categorize them with semantic mapping. In the post-reading stage, they discuss what they thought of the topic and add some information about the topic with semantic mapping. For the subjects of this study, third grade, middle school students were selected: 41 students for the experimental group and 35 students for the control group. The experimental period covered almost one semester from March to August, 2000. The results were as follows: 1) The students in the experimental group had higher scores in reading comprehension than those in the control group when semantic mapping was used; 2) The use of semantic mapping in reading comprehension was found to be much more effective in the higher leveled group than in the lower leveled group; 3) The results of questionnaires showed that many students became more interested and motivated in English, and semantic mapping helped them to participate positively in reading the English text. Thus, using semantic mapping by leveled group activities can be an effective alternative to traditional teaching methods for teachers who desire to improve reading skill in middle school students' English classes.

회귀분석과 텍스트마이닝을 활용한 미세먼지 비상저감조치의 실효성 및 국민청원 분석 (An Analysis of Effects of Emergency Fine Dust Reduction Measures and National Petition Using Regression Analysis and Text Mining)

  • 최근 서울시에서는 '미세먼지 비상저감조치'로 '대중교통 무료' 정책과 '시민 참여형 차량 2부제'를 시행하였다. 본 논문에서는 두 교통정책에 대한 실효성을 파악한 뒤, 향후 미세먼지 정책의 방향을 제시하였다. 교통이 미세먼지에 미치는 영향은 회귀분석으로, 두 정책에 대한 시민들의 반응과 향후 정책에 대한 시민들의 의견은 텍스트마이닝 기법을 통해 알아보았다. 분석 결과, 정책에 대한 시민들의 의견은 대부분 부정적이었고 국외 요인이 미세먼지의 주된 원인이라는 시민들의 생각과 달리 국내 요인의 영향도 상당하였다. 또 국민청원을 통해 시민들이 원하는 구체적인 정책의 내용을 알 수 있었다. 위 결과를 토대로 향후 미세먼지 정책이 나아갈 방향을 제시하였다.
