Shot change detection is an important technique for effective management of video data, so detection scheme requires adaptive detection techniques to be used actually in various video. In this paper, we propose an adaptive shot change detection algorithm using the mean of feature value on variable reference blocks. Our algorithm determines shot change detection by defining adaptive threshold values with the feature value extracted from video frames and comparing the feature value and the threshold value. We obtained better detection ratio than the conventional methods maximally by 15% in the experiment with the same test sequence. We also had good detection ratio for other several methods of feature extraction and could see real-time operation of shot change detection in the hardware platform with low performance was possible by implementing it in TVUS model of HOMECAST Company. Thus, our algorithm in the paper can be useful in PMP or other portable players.

This paper presents an adaptive control scheme for flexible joint robot manipulators. This control scheme is based on the Lyapunov direct method with the arm energy-based Lyapunov function. The proposed adaptive control scheme uses only the position and velocity feedback of link and motor shaft. The adaptive control system of flexible joint robots is asymptotically stable regardless of the joint flexibility value. Therefore, the assumption of weak joint ealsticity is not needed. Also, joint flexibility value is unknown. Simulation results are presented to show the feasibility of the proposed adaptive control scheme.

This paper presents the application of adaptive phase-locked loop (adaptive PLL) technique to control the process variable of the process control system. The adaptive algorithm is related to the error. When the error of the system is changed, the adaptive gain will be directly changed according to the error. If the value of the adaptive gain is large, the value of the error will be large. In this experiment, the reference input is 50% step input. The experimental result in controlling the first order lag process by the adaptive PLL shows that the response of the controlled system has no overshoot, short rise time, and zero steady-state error. The experimental result also shows that when the output disturbance enters to the process control system, the adaptive PLL can maintain the stability of the system and the effect of the output disturbance can also be fast rejected. Services for self-designing, or adaptive customization services, have become dominant in virtual marketplaces and are believed to create additional values both for the company as well as for the customer. While most research focused on the value from the services' outputs, this research attempts to address the customer-perceived value deriving from the process of the services, and focuses on the self-fulfillment effect of the involved mental processing. An online survey was administered with 313 U.S. shoppers. In the results, participants using adaptive customization services reported higher self-fulfillment perceptions, than did those not using the services. Furthermore, both the self-fulfillment perceptions (i.e., autonomy and competence) significantly increased perceived design utility. The results suggest that the process of adaptive customization services should be strategically managed to improve the customers' positive mental states that subsequently improve the perceived value of the output designs. Implications and suggestions for future studies are dsicussed.

The performance of the direct adaptive time-delay command shaping filter depends on the select time-delay. In the previously introduced direct adaptive command shaping filter, however, the time-delay value is fixed and only the magnitudes of the impulses are learned. In this paper, the authors introduce a new scheme to adapt the time-delay which is to be used in conjunction with the direct adaptive command shaping for the improved vibration suppression in flexible motion system. In order to formulate the time-delay adaptation scheme, the authors have analyzed the effect of the time-delay value on the performance of the direct adaptive command shaping filter. By modifying the direct adaptation formula based on the analysis result the authors have established a set of equations to adapt the time-delay toward the optimal value. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed time-delay adaptation approach for the improved vibration suppression.

Transient stabilization with voltage regulation is investigated for a synchronous generator when the mechanical power is perturbed to any unknown value within its physical bounds so that the operating point of the system shifts to an unknown point. An adaptive excitation controller is designed based on the backstepping method with tuning functions. It will be shown that the adaptive control law proposed can achieve the convergence of the system states to the new equilibrium point in correspondence with the real value of the unknown mechanical power and the regulation of the terminal voltage to the required value. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for the transient stabilization and voltage regulation.

The handoff failure probability has to be enhanced efficiently to enhance the performance of PCS system. In this paper a new scheme called velocity adaptive handoff algorithm for reducing handoff failure probability and maintaining the carried traffic constantly in PCS systems, by assigning low handoff threshold value for high mobility calls, and assigning high handoff threshold value for low mobility calls, is presented. The performance of evaluation of this new scheme is carried out in terms of tranffic characteristics. Also velocity estimation algorithm for this new scheme is presented. According to the result, the handoff failure probability of velocity adaptive handoff algorithm is enhanced about 60%.

결측치를 대치하는 여러가지 단일대치법 중에서 다변량 정규성 등의 모수적 모형이 만족되지 않을 때에도 강건성(robustness)을 지니는 k-최근접 이웃 대치법(k-nearest neighbors; KNN)이 널리 활용된다. KNN대치법에서 자료의 국소적 특징을 반영한 적응 최근접 이웃(adaptive nearest neighbors; ANN) 대치법과 k개의 최근접 이웃들 중 극단값이나 이상값이 있는 경우 이들의 영향에 덜 민감한 가중 k-최근접 이웃(weighted KNN; WKNN) 대치법의 장점을 결합한 가중 적응 최근접 이웃(weighted ANN; WANN) 대치법을 제안하였다. 또한 모의실험을 통하여 기존의 방법들과 제안한 방법을 비교하였다.

본 논문은 웨이블렛 영역에서 신호성분을 보존하면서 첨부된 잡음성분을 제거할 수 있는 새로운 잡음제거 필터를 제시한다. 적응적 웨이블렛 수축(AWS) 필터라 불리는 제안된 필터는 웨이블렛 제거기와 적응적 수축기의 두 개 연산기로 구성되어 있으며 각각의 연산기는 웨이블렛 계수의 국부적 통계성을 이용하여 적응적으로 추정되는 threshold에 의존하여 선택되는데 웨이블렛 제거기는 threshold보다 작은 웨이블렛 계수들을 0으로 대신하여 웨이블렛 영역에서 잡음을 제거하게 된다. 또한 적응적 수축기는 threshold보다 큰 계수들을 적응적으로 수축하여 신호성분을 보존하면서 잡음성분을 줄이게 된다. 실험 결과, 제안된 필터는 기존의 방법들보다 잡음을 제거하면서 신호성분을 보존하는데 더욱 효과적임을 보여준다.

과거에는 대기업과 중소기업의 제품 간에는 품질뿐만 아니라 제품 구매 후 제품 서비스에도 큰 차이가 났다. 이러한 요소들은 많은 소비자들이 제품을 구매할 때, 브랜드 가치를 고려하는 주된 이유였다. 그러나 시간이 지남에 따라 대기업과 중소기업 간의 기술력 및 서비스의 차이가 많이 줄어들면서, 브랜드 자체보다는 누가 소비자의 욕구를 충족시키는 가치를 선점하는지에 따라 경쟁 우위가 바뀌었다. 이에 따라 소비자를 만족시킬 수 있는 다양한 전략이 연구되고 있으며, 최근까지 연구자들이 판매행동과 관련하여 다루었던 주요 개념은 적응 판매이다. 본 연구의 목적은 판매원의 적응적 판매 전략이 중소기업 제품을 구매하는 소비자들에게 미치는 영향에 대해 규명하고자 하였다. 특히, 판매원의 적응적 판매 전략이 소비자의 쇼핑 가치, 판매원과의 결속 및 소비자 제품 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. 연구대상은 판매원을 통해 중소기업 제품 구매 경험이 있는 경남지역 소비자를 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였으며, 분석도구로는 SPSS 21.0을 사용하였으며, AMOS 21.0을 사용하여 구조 방정식 모형 분석을 하였다. 연구에 대한 실증 분석 결과 첫째, 판매원의 역할은 소비자의 쇼핑가치, 소비자와의 관계 결속과 제품 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 판매원의 적응적 판매 전략은 소비자의 쇼핑 가치에 영향을 미치는 중요한 변수라고 제안 할 수 있으며, 또한, 판매원의 적응적 판매 전략은 실용적 쇼핑 가치가있는 소비자보다 쾌락적 쇼핑 가치가있는 소비자에 더 강한 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 판매원과 소비자의 결속은 소비자의 제품 만족에 있어 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 판매원의 적응적 판매 전략의 효과를 알아봄으로써, 온라인과 비대면 마케팅이 점차 강조되고 있는 현재의 시장 환경에서, 기업들에게 판매원의 중요성과 판매원을 통한 효율적인 마케팅 접근법을 제시하고, 이를 통한 실무적인 시사점을 제공하는 점에서 그 의의를 가진다.
