Distributed Power Saving Control System Using Mobile Agent Based Active Rules (이동에이전트 기반 능동규칙을 이용한 분산형 절전제어시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose the Distributed Power Saving Control System that enables the active and intelligent control(on/off and/or dimming control) of the lightning device using sensors and mobile agents. The proposed system is effective for energy saving and induces cost reductions in design and development of power saving control system as adding remote-monitoring or controlling functions is easier with the application of a variety of active rules. Moreover, the system improves the effectiveness of the acquired sensing data by real-time event handling and device controlling using a mobile agent based sensor network middleware that regularize the contextual information or a user's emotion. The results of this paper present the potential applicability of the proposed distributed control system using mobile agent in various active sensor network applications.

Response Methodology against Spoofed IP Attack using Active Networks Mechanism (액티브 네트워크를 이용한 위조 IP 공격 대응 메커니즘)

  • It has become more difficult to correspond a cyber attack quickly as patterns of attack become various and complex. However, current security mechanism just have passive defense functionalities. In this paper, we propose new network security mechanism to respond various cyber attacks rapidly and to chase and isolate the attackers through cooperation between security zones. The proposed mechanism makes it possible to deal effectively with cyber attacks such as IP spoofing, by using active packet technology including a mobile code on active network. Also, it is designed to hove more active correspondent than that of existing mechanisms. We implemented these mechanisms in Linux routers and experimented on a testbed to verify realization possibility of attacker response framework using mobile code. The experimentation results are analyzed.

  • A 60GHz active phase shifter with 65nm CMOS is presented by replacing passive switches in switched-line type phase shifter with active ones. Active-switch phase shifter is composed of active-switch blocks and passive delay network blocks. The active-switch phase shifter design is compact compare with the conventional vector-sum phase shifter. Active-switch blocks are designed to accomplish required input and output impedances whose requirements are different whether the switch is on or off. And passive delay network blocks are composed of lumped L,C instead of normal microstrip line to reduce the size of the circuit. An 1-bit phase shifter is fabricated by TSMC 65nm CMOS technology and measurement results present -4dB average insertion loss and 120 degree phase shift at 65GHz.

  • As increasing the Internet traffic, many researches on access network are reported for end-to-end high-speed broadband network, where E-PON(Ethernet-Passive Active Network) is one of reasonable candidate fur the network with respect to cost and bandwidth utilization. For the high-speed access network, E-PON need an efficient bandwidth allocation method. This paper suggests a WFA(Water-Filling Allocation) algorithm for the efficient bandwidth allocation with various simulation test.

  • The network service have been achieved recently in the vehicle train, bus etc. Network portability have been processed so that it is active around NEMO WG (Network Mobility Working Group)of IETF. We organize NEMO in the railroad environment of the route among the masses traffic mean which has the forecasting. We try to present necessary for a portability network protocol to produce CoA rather efficiently.

Multi-aspect Based Active Sonar Target Classification (다중 자세각 기반의 능동소나 표적 식별)

  • Generally, in the underwater target recognition, feature vectors are extracted from the target signal utilizing spatial information according to target shape/material characteristics. In addition, various signal processing techniques have been studied to extract feature vectors which are less sensitive to the location of the receiver. In this paper, we synthesized active echo signals using 3-dimensional highlight distribution. Then, Fractional Fourier transform was applied to echo signals to extract signal features. For the performance verification, classification experiments were performed using backpropagation and probabilistic neural network classifiers based on single aspect and multi-aspect method. As a result, we obtained a better recognition result using proposed feature extraction and multi-aspect based method.

  • A new neural network (NN) predictive controller (NNPC) algorithm has been developed and tested in the computer simulation of active control of a nonlinear structure. In the present method an NN is used as a predictor. This NN has been trained to predict the future response of the structure to determine the control forces. These control forces are calculated by minimizing the difference between the predicted and desired responses via a numerical minimization algorithm. Since the NNPC is very time consuming and not suitable for real-time control, it is then used to train an NN controller. To consider the effectiveness of the controller on probability of damage, fragility curves are generated. The approach is validated by using simulated response of a 3 story nonlinear benchmark building excited by several historical earthquake records. The simulation results are then compared with a linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) active controller. The results indicate that the proposed algorithm is completely effective in relative displacement reduction.

  • The low-rate (LR) UWB is a promising technology for the ubiquitous sensor network (USN) due to its extremely low power consumption and simple transceiver implementation. However the limited communication range is a bottleneck for its widespread use. This paper deals with a new frame structure of class 4 active RFID multi-hop relay system based on ISO/IEC 18000-7 standard integrating with IEEE 802.15.4a LR-UWB PHY layer specification, which sets up a connection to USN. As a result of the vital importance of the coverage and throughput in the application of USN, further we analyze the performance of the proposed system considered both impulse radio UWB (IR-UWB) and chirp spread spectrum (CSS). Our simulation results show that the coverage and throughput are remarkably increased.

Harmonic Elimination and Reactive Power Compensation with a Novel Control Algorithm based Active Power Filter

  • This paper presents a power system harmonic elimination using the mixed adaptive linear neural network and variable step-size leaky least mean square (ADALINE-VSSLLMS) control algorithm based active power filter (APF). The weight vector of ADALINE along with the variable step-size parameter and leakage coefficient of the VSSLLMS algorithm are automatically adjusted to eliminate harmonics from the distorted load current. For all iteration, the VSSLLMS algorithm selects a new rate of convergence for searching and runs the computations. The adopted shunt-hybrid APF (SHAPF) consists of an APF and a series of 7th tuned passive filter connected to each phase. The performance of the proposed ADALINE-VSSLLMS control algorithm employed for SHAPF is analyzed through a simulation in a MATLAB/Simulink environment. Experimental results of a real-time prototype validate the efficacy of the proposed control algorithm.

  • A need fer stable and comfortable cabins in the high-speed passenger ships has increased. For active control of the motion of the ship cabin, a few control algorithms have been applied to the three dimensional real models in the vibration basin. Experimental results show that the feedforward neural network with a linear feedback controller is one of the promising control algorithms for this active control.
