This paper introduces a methodology of active calibration of a camera pose (orientation and position) using the images of cylindrical objects that are going to be manipulated. This active calibration method is different from the passive calibration where a specific pattern needs to be located at a certain position. In the active calibration, a camera attached on the robot captures images of objects that are going to be manipulated. That is, the prespecified position and orientation data of the cylindrical object are transformed into the camera pose through the two consecutive image frames. An ellipse can be extracted from each image frame, which is defined as a circular-feature matrix. Therefore, two circular-feature matrices and motion parameters between the two ellipses are enough for the active calibration process. This active calibration scheme is very effective for the precise control of a mobile/task robot that needs to be calibrated dynamically. To verify the effectiveness of active calibration, fundamental experiments are peformed.

This study aims to propose the residential service for Active senior from the age of 40's to 60's who prefers urban-type lifestyle. The lifestyle for Active senior was reorganized into the 5 main categories; convenience, well-being & activity, community, brand & Individuality and self-expression from the recent studies about the senior lifestyle. According to the lifestyle above, I propose the residential services to meet their needs. The result of the research, it showed that the services comcerned about the lifestyle; one stop living service, customized activity & health program, open community, various choices & facility differentiation and life-long education & working opportunity can be possible and more helpful in meeting the active senior's needs.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate undergraduate nursing students' volunteering activities, volunteering motivation- needs, sociability and satisfaction in their major for those who take the social service activities, and to provide basic information for operating the credit system of social service activity as service-learning system. Method: This study is a descriptive study and the participants were 363 of 2nd- and 3rd-year students at a nurses' college in I City, who completed the basic course of volunteering, and the survey was conducted during April 2004. Result: The group who participated in counseling service as a volunteering activity was high in volunteering motivation-needs, sociability and satisfaction in their major. In the group who performed volunteering through circle activities, those who volunteered for children, who participated longer and who had an active attitude showed high volunteering motivation-needs. In the group who had volunteering activities during weekdays, those who took an active attitude toward volunteering showed high sociability. Those who were somewhat dissatisfied with volunteering activities, however, showed significantly high sociability. Satisfaction in the major, namely, nursing was higher in senior students, in those who participated in volunteering activities for the first time at college, those who had religion, those who are active in volunteering activities and those who were highly satisfied with volunteering activities. Considering that active attitude toward volunteering activities and high volunteering motivation-needs enhance nursing students' satisfaction in their major, it is necessary to upgrade the current volunteering activities to the level of service learning. That is, it is necessary to develop new service learning in nursing curriculum that utilizes volunteering activities as well as what they learn in major for community societies.

In Korean society, a housewife and mother often plays the role of family resource manager. In 2008, the newly appointed Korean government proposed a new direction in social policies, including family policy, that is, "active social welfare". According to "active social welfare", family policy focuses on a preventive policy and a family needs-oriented policy. In other words, newly established family policies should reflect parents' needs in their family resource management. In this economic downturn, family policies should be established to satisfy parents' needs to overcome their own family's economic crisis. This study focuses on policy recipients' real voices and their needs: they need the government's help supporting their efforts to overcome the economic crises within their families.

Recently most Elderly in 2050 Our country is becoming an "aging society" at a speed far more rapidly than expected, the interests of silver industry is also increasing. Many researches about the elderly are already presented in academic world, especially in the field of housing environment, the housing plans on the basis of physical, social and emotional characteristics for the elderly are proposed. As the number of elderly participating in economy activities is getting higher, we selected on "active aging" generation which given a definition by OECD. In this research, we examine the present situation related to the needs for leisure time with the elderly who want to have their comfortable life. This purpose of this study is to survey the residential facilities for elderly, and how that facilities are reflected to their needs for the leisure. This study will indicate to the direction of plans in elderly housing.

Purpose: to investigate nursing service needs of dementia caregivers in the community, and, also to provide basic data that is helpful in developing nursing intervention for them. Method: MMSE-K exam was administered on 15,216 men more than 65years old who live in Gu, Seoul city, and the subject of this study were caregivers of 792 demented elderly who were below 20 points in the MMSE-K exam. Result: Total score of nursing service needs of family appeared lower than average. By specific area, information nursing needs was the highest(M=3.29), and therapeutic nursing needs (M=3.31), welfare service nursing needs(M=3.32), emotional support nursing needs (M=3.34) followed in order. The factors which increased the total score of nursing service needs of dementia caregivers as general and physical characteristics were man (p=.04), lower ADL (p=.00) and IADL(p=.00), longer length of sick days(p=.01), having diseases(p=.03), decline of cognition(p=.00), existence of dementia symptom(p=.00). And. high economic status(p=.03), good caring attitude(p=.00) were family characteristics which increased the nursing service needs of caregivers. As predicting variables dementia symptom (10.4%), caring attitude(1.9%), existence of economic activity (1.5%), and length of sick days(1.2%) exhibited explanation power in order. Conclusion: In future, active intervention methods that correspond to family nursing service needs have to be developed, and it is also needed to develop nursing intervention strategy on specific problem with dementia problematic behavior, exercise etc.. Also, it is needed to do research on the caring attitude of dementia family because active caring attitude of family was significant influencing factor on nursing service needs of family.

This research focuses on rural interpreter's behaviors and needs in rural tourism village around country. Although it happens that many farm tourism guides are accomplished in rural tourism village, but significant interest on this topic has not been identified yet. Therefore the primary objective of this study lies in identifying rural interpreter's behaviors and needs who is active play in rural tourism village. The study was conducted in a small rural community where tourism is still at its emerging stage. It was found that rural interpreter played active role by studying about rural culture and farm interpret for himself. But they was pointed out multifarious activities with various rural experience guide, and they used reality in the process of the interpret, but not village history. farm tourism guides demanded their expertise or special ability.

The community sense in the community is the important objectives and methods of Community Development. Community Development has been done effectively through improving the community sense in the community. It is necessary to find out what should lead th community sense in the community. It is community organizations that ate making the community sense in the community, and the community organization is more active by social capital. And the community organization is improving social capital. Therefore the relationship between community organization and social capital is very significant, and the more social capital is high by community organization, the more the community sense in the community is high. Therefore if the community organization is more active, the community sense and social capital in the community are more high. It needs to investigate what variables to affect the community organizations more active. The variables affecting the community organization are community subsystems that are administrative, economic, education, culture, family and religious in the community level. It needs to study in detail how the subsystems are affecting the community organizations.

The electric utility has the responsibility of reducing the impact of peaks on electricity demand and related costs. Therefore, they have introduced Direct Load Control System (DLCS) to automate the external control of shedding customer load that it controls. Since the number of customer load participating in the DLC program are keep increasing, DLCS operators a re facing difficulty in monitoring and controlling customer load. The existing DLCS needs constant operator intervention, e.g., whenever the load is about to exceed a predefined amount, it needs operator's intervention to control the on/off status of the load. Therefore, DLCS operators need the state-of-the-art DLCS, which can control automatically the on/off status of the customer load without intervention as much as possible. This paper presents an intelligent DLCS using the active database. The proposed DLCS is applying the active database to DLCS which can avoid operator's intervention as much as possible. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed system, variable production rules and intelligent demand controller are presented.

Based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory, this research only employs whether to meet consumer needs as a measure, and focuses on the Collaboration Series between Uniqlo and KAWS to discuss the influence of the collaboration between fashion brands and artists on consumer needs. What's more, this paper also proposes whether the collaboration with artists as brands can meet the higher needs of consumers and influence new consumer groups. Finally, it is concluded that the collaboration between fashion brands and artists plays an active role in meeting the higher needs of consumers and can expand new consumer groups, which will provide reference and theoretical basis for enterprises to conduct collaboration with art, incorporate the needs of consumers into the scope of planning, and consider the collaboration with artists more comprehensively.
