  • 새로운 유형의 창업 지원 프로그램으로 창업자를 선발하여 단기간에 집중적으로 지원하는 엑셀러레이터 프로그램(또는 기관)이 주목 받고 있다. 실리콘 밸리의 투자자와 기업가 간의 네트워크, 외부 인프라 요소들이 결합하여 생겨난 프로그램인 엑셀러레이터는, 누구에게나 개방적이고 경쟁적인 지원 절차를 통해 창업자(팀)를 선발하고 단기간 동안의 체계적인 프로그램과 멘토링을 제공한다. 본고에서는 엑셀러레이터의 국내 외 현황 및 운영사례를 분석한 후 결론으로서 정책적 시사점을 제시한다.

  • In this paper, we construct cryptographic accelerators using hardware Implementations of HMACS based on a hash algorithm such as MD5.It is basically a secure version of his previous algorithm, MD4 which is a little faster than MD5 The algorithm takes as Input a message of arbitrary length and produces as output a 128-blt message digest The input is processed In 512-bit blocks In this paper, new architectures, Iterative and full loop, of MD5 have been implemented using Field Programmable Gate Arrays(FPGAS). For the full-loop design, the performance Is about 500Mbps @ 100MHz

  • This paper presents the practice of multitexturing in the Internet for enhancing the image quality of 3D contents, where the attributes of objects such as textures are dynamically changed. We explain the empirical results of realizing the X3D nodes related with multitexturing in the recent X3D viewers, and discuss the directions for upgrading X3D viewers that satisfy the user requirements and the advanced graphics accelerators.

  • A brief review is presented on the ion beam application in science and technology. ion beams are used very effectively in various fields of science and technology, on the basis of advance in accelerator technology and experimental techniques for ion beam utilization. Recent progress in this field is reviewed in terms of the direct ion beam utilization like ion beam analysis, and the utilization of neutrons as secondary particles.

  • This paper presents a design and MPW implementation of 3D Graphics Floating Point IPs. Designed IPs include adder, subtractor, multiplier, divider, and reciprocal unit. The IPs have pipelined structures. The IPs meet the accuracy required in OpenGL ES. The operation frequency of the IPs is 100MHz. The IPs can be efficiently used in 3D graphics accelerators.

Fermi Large Area Telescope Observations of the Dark Accelerator HESS J1745-303

  • Reviewing the two MeV-GeV investigations in the field of the HESS J1745-303 performed using Fermi Large Area Telescope data, we confirmed that the emission peak comfortably coincides with 'Region A' in the TeV regime, which is the brightest part of this feature. The MeV-TeV spectrum can be precisely described by a single power-law. Also, recent investigation has shown that the MeV-GeV feature is elongated from 'Region A' toward the north-west, which is similar to the case of largescale atomic/molecular gas distribution.

  • We observed new physical phenomia. The dispersion relation and the distributions of RF electric field in the corrugated wall waveguide are analyzed numerically. The measurement of the dispersion relation are obsered by a plunger method employed in the slow wave structure for linear accelerators.

  • This paper proposed the low power texture cache for mobile 3D graphics accelerators. It is very important to reduce the leakage power in the standby mode for mobile 3D graphics accelerators and the memory access latency of texture mapping in the active mode which needs a large memory bandwidth. The proposed structure reduces the leakage power using variable threshold values of power mode transitions according to the selected texture filtering algorithms of application programs, which has the run time gain for texture mapping. In the trace driven cache simulation the proposed structure shows the best 7% performance gain to the previous MSA cache according to the new performance metric considering both normalized leakage power and run time impact.

Design of an Air-Core HTS quadruple triplet for a heavy ion accelerator

  • In recent years, high-temperature superconductor (HTS) Quadruple Triplets are being developed for heavy ion accelerators, because the HTS magnets are suitable to withstand radiation and high heat loads in the hot cell of accelerators. Generally, an iron yoke, which costs a mass of material, was employed to enhance the magnetic field when a quadrupole magnet was designed. The type of the magnet is called iron-dominated magnet, because the total magnetic field was mainly induced by the iron. However, in the HTS superconductor iron-dominated magnets, the coil-induced field also can have a certain proportion. Therefore, the air-core HTS quadrupole magnets can be considered instead of the iron-core HTS quadrupole magnet to be employed to save the iron material. This study presents the design of an air-core HTS quadruple triplet which consists three by air-core HTS quadruple magnet and compare the design result with that of an iron-core HTS quadruple triplet. First, the characteristics of an air-core HTS quadrupole magnet were analyzed to select the magnet system for the magnetic field uniformity impairment. Then, the field uniformity was improved(< 0.1%) exactly using evolution strategy (ES) method for each iron-core HTS quadrupole magnet and the air-core HTS quadruple triplet was established. Finally, the designed air-core triplet was compared with the iron-core HTS quadruple triplet, and the results of beam trajectories were presented with both the HTS quadruple triplet systems to show that the air-core triplet can be employed instead of the iron-core HTS triplet. The design of the air-core quadruple triplet was suggested for a heavy ion accelerator.
