  • Gastric lipoma is a typical benign submucosal tumor that is usually asymptomatic and is generally detected incidentally when performing gastroscopy. However, depending on its size and location, an atypical gastrointestinal lipoma can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, intestinal obstruction, intussuception and life-threatening gastrointestinal bleeding. We report herein a case of gastric lipoma with bleeding in a 43-year-old man. The gastroscopy showed a $4{\times}4$ cm ulcero-fungating submucosal mass at the anterior wall of the gastric antrum. Laparoscopic gastric wedge resection was performed and the lesion was diagnosed as gastric lipoma.

  • In the past 10 years, modern technology has made deep seated obscure lesions visible. With development of computer technology and various stereotaxic techniques, many new procedures. refinement of old procedures, and development of new applications are possible. The authors are intended to provide a detailed description of our experience with the Brown-Roberts-Wells(BRW) stereotactic system in the evaluation and management of 90 patients with intracranial lesions, and to provide cases presentation of various inaccessible intracranial lesions.

  • Tuberous sclerosis is reported rarely and is associated with systemic lesions including central nervous system, skin, heart, eye and kidney. Approximately 5-15% of individuals with tuberous sclerosis will develope brain neoplasia, almost invariably subependymal giant-cell astrocytoma (SGCA). We experienced a case of SGCA with tuberous sclerosis operated by the transcallosal approach and report with literature review.

  • Rhabdomyosarcoma originating from the chest wall is a rare malignant tumor in children and was considered to be guarded in prognosis previously. However, recent advances in multidisciplinary treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma in children have improved the disease free survival rate. Authers report a case of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, stage III, originating from the chest wall who is surviving free of disease for 15 months with agressive chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

  • Lymphangioma is a benign tumor resulted from abnormal communication between large dermal lymphatic channels and central lymphatic system. The tumor is encountered more often in the neck and axilla and less often in mediastinum, omentum, retroperitoneum, and scrotum. It rarely developes at urogenital system, and there has been no previous description of lymphangioma involving the bladder wall in Korea. We report a case of 35-year-old female with infected huge lymphagioma ansing from pelvic cavity and involving bladder wall.

  • The extraaxial presentation of a medulloblastoma is rare. This article describes the case of a 12-year-old boy who presented with severe headache, nausea, and vomiting. The tumor developed in the left tentorium; it was misdiagnosed as a meningioma based on the radiology examination. We review the literature and discuss the atypical presentation of medulloblastoma.

  • Astrocytoma in the thalamus is not so frequent in incidence (1%). Moreover, bilateral thalamic tumor is rare. Certain tumors of the thalamus are considered resectable but most of thalamic tumors are thought to be untouchable. Bilateral thalamic astrocytoma with hydrocephalus was diagnosed by stereotactic biopsy and ventriculo-peritoneal shunt operation was done with result of improvement. We report a case of astrocytoma in the bilateral thalamus with literature review.

  • 2-Bromopropane (2-BP) is a major component of the mixture of SPG-6AR and Solvent 5200 that is a substitute of chlorofluorocarbon. Many female workers exposed to 2-bromopropane in a Korean electronic company were found to have amenorrhea and male workers were diagnosed with oligospermia. In the present studies, immunotoxic effects of 2-BP and an analog, 1,2-dibromopropane (1 ,2-DBP), were investigated in female BALB/c mice. (omitted)
