Analysis of performance changes based on the characteristics of input image data in the deep learning-based algal detection model (딥러닝 기반 조류 탐지 모형의 입력 이미지 자료 특성에 따른 성능 변화 분석)

  • Algae are an important component of the ecosystem. However, the excessive growth of cyanobacteria has various harmful effects on river environments, and diatoms affect the management of water supply processes. Algal monitoring is essential for sustainable and efficient algae management. In this study, an object detection model was developed that detects and classifies images of four types of harmful cyanobacteria used for the criteria of the algae alert system, and one diatom, Synedra sp.. You Only Look Once(YOLO) v8, the latest version of the YOLO model, was used for the development of the model. The mean average precision (mAP) of the base model was analyzed as 64.4. Five models were created to increase the diversity of the input images used for model training by performing rotation, magnification, and reduction of original images. Changes in model performance were compared according to the composition of the input images. As a result of the analysis, the model that applied rotation, magnification, and reduction showed the best performance with mAP 86.5. The mAP of the model that only used image rotation, combined rotation and magnification, and combined image rotation and reduction were analyzed as 85.3, 82.3, and 83.8, respectively.

  • Recently, the government is taking new approaches to change the fact that the accident rate and accident death rate of the construction industry account for a high percentage of the whole industry. Especially, it is investing heavily in the development of construction technology that is fused with ICT technology in line with the current trend of the 4th Industrial Revolution. In order to cope with this situation, this paper proposed a concept to recognize and share the work situation information between the construction machine driver and the surrounding worker to enhance the safety in the place where construction machines are operated. In order to realize the part of the concept, we applied image processing technology using camera based on artificial intelligence to earth-moving work. Especially, we implemented an algorithm that can recognize the surrounding worker's circumstance and identify the risk situation through the experiment using the compaction equipment. and image processing algorithm based on YOLO-v3. This algorithm processes 15.06 frames per second in video and can recognize danger situation around construction machine with accuracy of 90.48%. We will contribute to the prevention of safety accidents at the construction site by utilizing this technology in the future.

  • The agricultural is plagued by agricultural damage from wild boars every year. As a result, research on systems to repelling wild boars continues, and most of the systems are to detect objects with body temperature through sensors and then repelling them with actions such as light and sound. The problems of these system are operating regardless of wild boars and people, which can cause significant accident when using electric fence. In addition, If the same repelling action is repeated, wild boars can be adapted to that repelling action. As a solution to the two problems, Adaptation problem can be solved by random sounds and distinction problem can be solved by YOLO V4.

  • The decline in the rural populace and an aging workforce have led to fatalities due to worsening environments and hazards within vinyl greenhouses. Therefore, it is necessary to automate crop cultivation and disease detection system in greenhouses to prevent labor loss. In this paper, an object detection-based model is used to detect diseased crop in greenhouses. In addition, the system proposed configures the environment of the artificial intelligence model in the cloud to ensure stability. The system captures images taken inside the vinyl greenhouse and stores them in a database, and then downloads the images to the cloud to perform inference based on Yolo-v4 for detection, generating JSON files for the results. Analyze this file and send it to the database for storage. From the experimental results, it was confirmed that disease detection through object detection showed high performance in real environments like vinyl greenhouses. It was also verified that efficient monitoring is possible through the database

  • 본 논문은 강화학습 POMDP(Partially Observable Markov Decision Process) 알고리즘을 사용하여 자갈밭과 같은 비평탄 지형을 극복하는 4족 보행 지능로봇을 설계하고 딥러닝 기법을 사용하여 사람을 검출한다. 로봇의 임베디드 환경에서 1단계 검출 알고리즘인 YOLO-v7과 SSD의 기본 모델, 경량 또는 네트워크 교체 모델의 성능을 비교하고 선정된 SSD MobileNet-v2의 검출 속도를 개선하기 위해 TensorRT를 사용하여 최적화를 진행하였다

  • The purpose of this paper is to implement a deep learning-based real-time video analysis algorithm that monitors safety of workers in industrial facilities. The worker's clothes were divided into six classes according to whether workers are wearing a helmet, safety vest, and safety belt, and a total of 5,307 images were used as learning data. The experiment was performed by comparing the mAP when weight was applied according to the number of learning iterations for 645 images, using YOLO v4. It was confirmed that the mAP was the highest with 60.13% when the number of learning iterations was 6,000, and the AP with the most test sets was the highest. In the future, we plan to improve accuracy and speed by optimizing datasets and object detection model.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to implement a real-time fire alarm system using deep learning. The deep learning image dataset for fire alarms acquired 1,500 sheets through the Internet. If various images acquired in a daily environment are learned as they are, there is a disadvantage that the learning accuracy is not high. In this paper, we propose a fire image data expansion method to improve learning accuracy. The data augmentation method learned a total of 2,100 sheets by adding 600 pieces of learning data using brightness control, blurring, and flame photo synthesis. The expanded data using the flame image synthesis method had a great influence on the accuracy improvement. A real-time fire detection system is a system that detects fires by applying deep learning to image data and transmits notifications to users. An app was developed to detect fires by analyzing images in real time using a model custom-learned from the YOLO V4 TINY model suitable for the Edge AI system and to inform users of the results. Approximately 10% accuracy improvement can be obtained compared to conventional methods when using the proposed data.

  • Recently, new approaches that significantly improve performance in object detection and recognition using deep learning technology have been proposed quickly. Of the various techniques for object detection, especially facial object detection (Faster R-CNN, R-CNN, YOLO, SSD, etc), SSD is superior in accuracy and speed to other techniques. At the same time, multiple object detection networks are also readily available. In this paper, among object detection networks, Mobilenet v2 network is used, models combined with SSDs are trained, and methods for detecting objects at a rate of four times or more than conventional performance are proposed using TensorRT engine, and the performance is verified through experiments. Facial object detector was created as an application to verify the performance of the proposed method, and its behavior and performance were tested in various situations.

  • In this paper, we propose a faster object detection and tracking method using Deep Learning, UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle), Kalman filter and YOLO(You Only Look Once)v3 algorithms. The performance of the object tracking system is decided by the performance and the accuracy of object detecting and tracking algorithms. So we applied to the YOLOv3 algorithm which is the best detection algorithm now at our proposed detecting system and also used the Kalman Filter algorithm that uses a variable detection area as the tracking system. In the experiment result, we could find the proposed system is an excellent result more than a fixed area detection system.

Development of IoT System Based on Context Awareness to Assist the Visually Impaired

  • As the number of visually impaired people steadily increases, interest in independent walking is also increasing. However, there are various inconveniences in the independent walking of the visually impaired at present, reducing the quality of life of the visually impaired. The white cane, which is an existing walking aid for the visually impaired, has difficulty in recognizing upper obstacles and obstacles outside the effective distance. In addition, it is inconvenient to cross the street because the sound signal to help the visually impaired cross the crosswalk is lacking or damaged. These factors make it difficult for the visually impaired to walk independently. Therefore, we propose the design of an embedded system that provides traffic light recognition through object recognition technology, voice guidance using TTS, and upper obstacle recognition through ultrasonic sensors so that blind people can realize safe and high-quality independent walking.
