This is a study on the status of color scheme of domestic office furniture. In order to pursue the planned and effective usage of color on office furniture, we investigate and analyze the status of used color based on products from four domestic office furniture companies. Once we review the definition and characteristics of office furniture, we theoretically investigate the importance of correct color planning and psychological effect based on the psychological theory as research methods. In addition, objective condition of color analysis is presented by clearly stating the color measurement which is used in this study and the NCS as analysis standards, and status of the usage of color is investigated and analyzed based on representative products from four domestic office furniture companies. Results showed that only five products which are 26.3% out of 19 products from four companies achieved a good balance based on both color harmony theories. We hope that studies to recognize the importance of usage of correct color on the office furniture, to improve the office environment and to increase the efficiency of work will be conducted continuously.

In this study, we have selected the coach related to woodworking and furniture of master craftsmen of the Republic of Korea, to confirm the process of until the background and coach of their growth. And through the world of their work after the coach has been, it was done and try to have an opportunity to explore the elements of future development. That is, by studying analyze the characteristics of their work through analysis and coach life Korea masters system, it is studied to try to implement a design identity. Increasing concerns of environment need to make change furniture field to more environmentally friendly approach, such as reuse of by-products from wooden products. As it is, the methods of recycling wood for industrial purposes have the advantage of productivity and adaptability. However, the industrial way is required a certain production facility of processing wooden by-products and has possible hygienic problems due to contaminated sources. Many designers have developed their own methods for reuse of wood in unique and artistic ways. Even so, because of confined sources, it could be not enough supply. Therefore, I developed the design methodology utilizing wooden by-products from S Design Company to relieve former ways' problems. The design suggestion took materials from a safe and abundant source. The wooden leftover pieces were connected together with epoxy clay, so previous process traces of furniture are remained as a decorative factor. Moreover, the synthesized material was able to be processed by ordinary woodworking facilities without additional installations. In doing so, console table focused on a commercial purpose and dining table for an artistic objective were successfully fabricated as final suggestions. In consideration of the proposal using wooden furniture leftovers, diverse recycling designs should be investigated for future reference.

This study was performed to evaluate tannin exposure by wooddusts for workers in furniture factories and to investigate the relationship between tannin exposure and sino-nasal cancer risk. In order to explore possible cytological changes leading to nasal cancer, we have examined 50 male furniture workers and 50 matched controls using brush cytology. The results we have obtained in this study were as follows: 1. The tannin contents of woods used in woodworking factories have been measured and varied from 0.43 to 8.72 mg tannic acid equivalent per gram wood, for reconstituted softwood and turpentine (Syncarpia glomuliferia) respectively. 2. Airborne tannins in wooddusts were also determined by area and personal exposure. The values of mean exposures for both methods are ranged from 3.1 to $5.0{\mu}g/m^3$ and from 4.6 to $14.5{\mu}g/m^3$ in furniture manufactures. 3. Over nasal cytology scores 2, the scores of study group were slightly more than control group and this kind of metaplasias seemed to be occurred over $2mg/m^3$ wooddust and $6{\mu}g/m^3$ tannin exposure. Keratinising squamous metaplasia was investigated at nasal cytology score 3 and $10{\mu}g/m^3$ tannin exposure. The nasal cytology score 4 was seemed to be atypical squamous metaplasia. 4. To find out contributing factors to nasal cytology change, odds ratio that is one of fundmental biostatistics was applied. Actually the relationship between wooddust, tannin concentration and metaplasia were not meaningful, but the relationship between working experence more than 15 years and metaplasia was calculated as 1.83. This reveals that significant clinical abnormalities could be influenced from the years of woodworking experiences. However further research is required to evaluate the significance of the data, for the purposes of sino-nasal risk assessment, standard setting to prevent nasal cancer occurrences and possibility of changing workplace.

X-ray computed tomography (X-ray CT), which is often applied to the investigation of the interior structures of cultural properties, is very useful for studying production methods used in lacquerware that would otherwise be difficult to observe with the naked eye. Lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl is an important subject in the study of traditional Korean craft. However, it can be a challenge to specify the production methods used in the framework of a lacquerware item unless the object has been structurally damaged. Studies of lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl have thus far focused on the techniques of lacquering and of inlaying the mother-of-pearl. Production methods for the framework of lacquerware has received little academic attention. This study conducted X-ray CT on a lacquerware item from the Joseon period to reveal the materials and woodworking techniques used for the framework. The study revealed that softwood was used for the framework, and the post (gidungmok) and apron (soemok) were joined using a three-way miter joint (sambang yeongwi jjaim). Other pieces were joined with nails.

This study particularly looked at educational philosophy and content of Design Academy Eindhoven in Holland which provides multidisciplinary design education. For it might be important data for examining the educational substance and directivity in design that help construct education system in design for a new era among the varying design paradigm. The biggest feature of DAE education system designed for students to optimize their ability with systematic education of 8 contexts with 4 approaches through innovative specialty system. Besides, their interaction helps students major in what is individual specialty. Most of all, the study on the contents of DAE's multidisciplinary education is expected to be significant data for our design education that lacks integrative perspective in the respect that students might be able to develop their identity as an individual designer in changing society beyond the mere technical and formative level of design.

This article aimed to identify the significance of 'Limited Edition' in 'Art Furniture' field, which is rather well known in fine art like printing and sculpture. The consumer never responded to 'Art furniture' positively for its artistic quality and authenticity before than these days. For this, Author featured out current tendencies of 'Art Furniture' in terms of 'Limited Edition' can be easily found in well-known designer or artist's work, suggests designers should aim for their design. This desire, as a result, gave an opportunity to designers to produce new products in various different ways. And at the same time, suggest a new method in furniture design. Furthermore, 'Limited Edition' became a channel and opens a new environment for designers to explore and come up with new experimental designs.

This research aims at the improvement of the manufacturing productivity of . kitchen furniture industry. W company deals with the orders of 2 types - the one is the batch order for mass production, and the other is the order of a customized single set. But, because the company has a single manufacturing system appropriate to mass production despite of the above 2 types-orders, the problems of increasing work-in-process, throughput time and material handling time were resulted in, and the overall productivity was generally low. We proposed a new material handling method to substitute the traditional one, the rearrangement of facility layout, and the introduction of a proper outsourcing method. This research results in about 80% increase in production quantity in the same period.

Recently, the demand for marine leisure industry is rapidly increasing due to the five-day work week and the per capita income approaching US $ 30,000. In particular, the Republic of Korea is surrounded by the sea on three sides and is composed of 3,150 islands and coastline. As shipbuilding infrastructure is abundant and the government is expected to actively support policies as a new growth engine, leisure boat furniture industry is expected to grow rapidly along with leisure boat manufacturing. Therefore, in this paper, after understanding the leisure boat (yacht) and analyzing the requirements of yacht furniture, we proposed a beautiful yacht furniture design that is lightweight, durable and safe using a 120-foot super yacht that can best show the characteristics of yacht furniture using wood bending technology and color variation of woods.

As modern society attaches important to a value in mental aspect and characteristics of consumers who become diverse and individualistic, lighting design also changes closely with everyday life. This study suggests a new concept of indoor lighting design, combining natural objects with lattice and Korean paper, one of our representative traditional materials in lighting design used in everyday life. In particular, it was designed with aesthetic sense of traditional culture and Korean sentiment besides external effect and function by combining Korean paper with natural objects such as insect and plant, material that could be easily obtain around us. As a result, it is intended to enhance quality of life and pursue happiness by suggesting a new concept of lighting design which is modern, harmonizes with everyday life of modern humans who become individualistic, and can arouse sensibility, overcoming the limitations of traditional lighting in indoor lighting.
