  • Recently, miniaturization of large scale integrated circuits (LSI) and printed circuit board (PCB) have become essential with the downsizing of electronic devices. Gold electroplating is applied of conductivity wiring or terminals for improvement of conductivity and corrosion resistance. However, electroplating is not applicable since the circuits are becoming finer and denser. Accordingly, electroless plating is recently highly attractive method because of the simplicity of the operation requiring no external source of current and no elaborate equipment. In this work, we tried to develop a plating technique on electroless Ni/Au plating. First, the electroless Ni plating was deposited on the PCB with agitation in the bath at $85^{\circ}C$. Then the Au layer was deposited on the Ni layer surface by same method at $90^{\circ}C$. The bonderability were tested in order to evaluate the stability of the electroless Ni/Au by gold wire or solder ball test.

  • In-vehicle networks have been developed to increase capacity and reduce wiring in the car. These would make communication possible with each heterogeneous networks by the advent of networks attached to the vehicle. However, these come with a variety of unique features in each network-specific communication which creates difficulty using and supporting the service. To solve this problem, local networks need a standard integration framework. In this paper, a framework, consists of a standard protocol using XML to improve compatibility and portability, is proposed and implemented. Each network is compatible with the framework by applying unique information and messages of the network in the XML standard ducument. The results obtained by implementation show that the framework supports the communication of information between heterogeneous in-vehicle networks.

  • The basic properties and electrical characteristics of sputtering films deposited with a commercial cast target and spark plasma sintering (SPS) were compared and analyzed. The results, revealed that, the Al film prepared by heating at $60^{\circ}C/min$ (SPS process) showed a specific resistance similar to the commercial cast Al film. In addition, the results of XRD, SIMS and TEM, showed that there was not much difference in the crystal structure and impurities between the two films. Consequently, the SPS Al target was found to have properties quite similar to the commercial one and it is expected to be applied in future research to the metal wiring material for semiconductor/display devices.

  • The distributing board in directly installed on the ground or the bottom surface of the building, and when vibrations such as earthquakes or external shocks occur, the possibility of damage or malfunction of electric components such as internal power devices, wiring, and protection relays increases. Recently, the need for a seismic type distributing board is increasing, and research and development of a distributing board having a vibration damping function and product launch are being conducted. In this paper, an IoT-based data collection device system capable of measuring vibration and environmental data of distributing board was designed and implemented. When vibration occurred on the distributing board, data was stored and visualized in the MySQL DB through Node-RED for monitoring and data storage using the MQTT protocol for reliable messaging transmission. The test was conducted by attaching the IoT device of the distributing board, and data was collected in real-time and monitored through Node-RED.

  • In this paper, we propose a systematic design approach based on cavity-mode resonance analysis to improve the radiated susceptibility of cables in air vehicles. As electronic devices equipped in air vehicles substantially increase, enhancing the radiated susceptibility of internal cables becomes more challenging and significant. The proposed design approach provides an efficient method to avoid and suppress cavity-mode resonances using analytical methods to estimate the resonance frequencies and the current ratio induced by the cavity-mode resonances. It is demonstrated in simulated results that the proposed method offers a design solution for improving the radiated susceptibility and reduces the computation time by up to 99.6% compared to the previous design method.

  • This paper propose the method that measure the main system parameters for current control of a.c. motor adopting the vector control technique. The automatical method that tuning PI control gains for current control of servo motors are used frequently through the information of main system parameters, wire resistance and inductance. In this study, the techniques to measure these two system parameters through the control of 3-phase inverter are presented. These control and measuring method are implemented by measuring output phase current obtained as a results of the step current control using simple proportional feedback input. Moreover, this method use freewheeling current of inverter at special switching mode for measuring inductance. This analytic strategy is could measure and calculate the system parameters without the complex measurement algorithm and new additional measuring circuits. That is could measure the total resistance and total inductance including wiring resistance and conduction resistance of switching devices using real driving circuits to control the motors.

  • Since various methods to form well-aligned nano-/micro- patterns are underlying technologies to fabricate next generation wearable electronic devices, many efforts have been made to realize finer patterns in recent years. Among lots of patterning methods, the present invention includes a nano-transfer printing (n-TP) process which is advantageous in that a processing cost is low and high-resolution patterns can be formed within a short processing time. We successfully achieved pattern formation of highly ordered Pt lines with line-width of 250 nm, 500 nm, and $1{\mu}m$ on transparent and flexible substrates. In addition, we analyzed the durability of the patterns, showing excellent stability of line-shape even after a physical and repeated bending test of 500 times using a bending machine. As a result, it is expected that a n-TP process is very useful for forming various metal patterns, and it is also expected to be applied to wiring and interconnection technology of next generation flexible electronic devices.

  • Currently, unmanned military vehicles under development in Korea have more devices to carry out various missions, and interface cables between them are also increasing. In addition, due to a small space problem inside the unmanned vehicle, devices are required to be miniaturized and integrated. For two reasons, connectors also need to be selected, which makes them vulnerable to noise due to the closer distance between the pins. In this paper, we analyzed how much the magnetic field produced by noise at the connector pin where cable twist is released affects the surrounding pin and presented the guide for optimal pin placement. First, the effect of magnetic field is greater than the crosstalk between pin and pin. Second, the magnetic field on both sides between + and - is strong when approaching one step with noise source. Third, the magnetic field strength is improved when setting the ground pin as the ground pin between the noise and the original signal when approaching the A noise source and the two steps. Fourth, in the case of a differential mode communication, the optimal placement area of the sensitive signal was presented according to positions Tx± and Rx±.

  • Recently, RES (renewable energy source) projects have been spreading all over the world as an alternative to solve the shortage of energy and environmental problems caused by fossil fuel consumption. The Korean government also supported the policy and demonstration project to increase the proportion of renewable energy to 63.8[GW] until 2030, which is 20[%] of the total power generation. On the other hand, output loss of a PV array can occur when the surrounding high-rise buildings and trees shade a PV array. Therefore, this paper proposes an algorithm to improve the output loss of a PV array, which electrically changes a circuit configuration of PV modules by wiring and switching devices. Furthermore, this study modeled a PV system based on PSIM S/W, which was composed of a PV array, a circuit configuration device, and a grid-connected inverter. From the simulations results with the modeling and test device, the existing method showed no output when 50% of the shade occurs in PV modules. In contrast, the proposed method could produce the output because the voltage in the PV module could be restored to 246[V], and the operation efficiency of the PV system could be improved by the operation algorithm of the circuit configuration device.

  • With the rapid industrialization and economical development, the electricity demands of the industrial facilities and densely populated large cities are continuing to increase in Korea. The increase in the power consumption requires the extension of power facilities, but it is difficult to secure spaces for equipment installation in the limited space of urban areas. In addition, the 154 kV or 345 kV transmission systems in Korea has a short transmission distance, and are connected to one another in network structures that ensure the high reliability and stability of power supply. This structure reduces the impedance during the fault in power system, and increases the magnitude of in the short circuit fault current. The superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) was devised to effectively address these existing problems. The SFCL is a new-concept eco-friendly protective device that ensures fast operation and recovery time for the fault current and does not need additional fault detection devices. Therefore, many studies are being conducted around the world. In this paper, based on the wiring method the initial fault current characteristics, current limiting characteristics, according to the incident angle and the change in inductance current limiting characteristics were analyzed in a multifaceted methods.
