  • In this paper, we have analyzed the performance of a BRAM (The Broadcasting Recognizing Access Method) protocol, as a CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance) scheme, which is widely used in wireles LAN systems. We have selected a Fair BRAM protocol among CSMA/CA schemes, considering the fairness of channel usage and the simplicity of the protocol. We have compared the performance of BRAM protocol to that of CSMA/CD. to research the characteristics of BRAM in wireless LAN system. In order to analyze the performance of this system, we have set up an imbedded Markov chain and calculated state transition probabilities. Then we have calculated steady state probabilities and finally derived the throughput of a Fair BRAM moder. To verify our analysis, we have simulated practical models. Then, we have found that analytic results are very close to simulation ones. Our analysis of the BRAM protocol will be expected to be very helpful to design and evaluate a MAC (Media Access Control) protocol in wireless LAN systems.

  • The optimal AP placement for wireless LAN is important factor for improving service quality and reducing cost. Logical area property, which is user's frequently posed place, must be considerated for flexible design. This paper proposes optimal multiple AP placement method based on path loss model which is one of radio prediction tool. The proposed method can got flexibility in multiple AP placement using user's defined parameter and tile optimization design uses Hopfield network algorithm The result of simulation shows that the proposed optimization design of multiple AP placement can improve service quality for wireless LAN.

  • It is expected that wireless LANs will substitute wired LANs and will be tightly coupled with mobile cellular systems. In this integrated network environment, vertical handoff between wireless LANs and mobile cellular systems is needed. In this paper, we propose handoff procedures and requirements for implementing of the vertical handoff. The proposed vertical handoff procedures are likely to be use as a basic example lot implementing of the vertical handoff.

  • As the need for stable and high speed wireless Internet service Brows, the wireless LAN service provider hurries to preempt wireless LAN service market. IAPP(InterAccess Point protocol) is defined to be able to provide a secure handoff mechanism of wireless LAN terminal information between AP(Access Point)s, and the related IEEE standard is IEEE 802.11f. For the secure handoff of wireless LAN terminal, it is necessary to transfer terminal's authentication & accounting information securely from old AP to new AP IEEE 802.11f recommends RADIUS server as IAPP server which authenticates AP and provides information for secure channel between APs. This paper proposes IAPP server using Diameter protocol to overcome the limit of RADIUS sewer, and describes about the interaction between server components and integration method with the current IAPP client system.

  • Wireless LAN(wireless Local Area Network) is constructed network environment by radio in indoors or outdoors environment and that to use electric wave or light instead of wire to client such as PC(Personal Computer), notebook, PDA in hub(Hub) in technological side. Now, among IEEE 802.11 WG(Working Group), there is TGf(Task Group F) that develop standard protocol between AP's(Access Point). In this group, proposed IAPP(Inter Access Point Protocol) to secure interoperability between AP producing in different manufacturer, this offers seamless connectivity between STA by sharing Security Context information or Layer 2 forwarding information between AP without passing through re-authentication process when STAs(Station) move by protocol to secure mobility between AP that differ in equal serve network. In this paper, I wish to suggest method that change avenue of communication of message to block information leakage that can occur at security message or WEP Key transmission between above AP, and uses public key to offer wireless area security little more.

  • A variable gain amplifier(VGA) for wireless LAN is designed using active feedback. The amplifier is controlled by the gate voltage in the feedback path. This amplifier has more than 30㏈ gain variation and a improved linearity in the RF receiver block as input voltage increases. An active feedback topology is used by P-HEMT and is also analyzed for FET equivalent model.

  • The demands of WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) systems increase rapidly in whole society and this phenonenon has been expected that WLAN wi11 substitute for wired-LAN. The FHSS(Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum) method using the WLAN is changed to the performance of Frequency synthesizer. In this paper, we proposed pipeline-accumulator using ring-counter method instead of constant accumulator that has demerits of size and power consumption. Designed DDFS generated operating frequency of 167MHz and maximum output frequency of 83.5MHz.

  • In this paper, we are designed and verified a FFT/IFFT processor that is possible from the wireless LAN environment which is adopted international standard of the IEEE802.11a. The proposed architecture of the FFT/IFFT has Radix-2 64point SDF(single-path delay feedback) Pipeline technique and DIF(Decimation in Frequenct) structure. The FFT/IFFT processor has each 8 bit complex input-output and 6 bit Twiddle factor. we used Max-PlusII for simulation and can see that processor is properly operated

  • 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11a 무선 LAN 용 CODEC 회로를 설계하고, VHDL 코딩과 FPGA에 의한 회로설계 검증에 관해 기술한다. IEEE 802.lla WLAN CODEC의 구조는 크게 데이터 보호를 위한 스크램블러/디스크램블러, 채널 에러에 대한 정보보호를 위한 Convolutional 부호기와 Viterbi 복호기로 구성된 채널 코덱, 그리고 연집에러를 랜덤 에러로 변화시키는 인터리버/디인터리버로 구성된다. 본 논문에서는, 이와 같은 CODEC의 각 부분을 하드웨어로 구현하기 위한 새로운 회로구성을 제안하고, 그 성능을 VHDL 코딩에 의한 시뮬레이션과 FPGA에 의한 하드웨어 검증 결과를 제시한다.
