  • The aim of this paper is to suggest a design method of the optimal model following control system using genetic algorithm (GA). This control system is designed by applying GA with reference model to the optimal determination of weighting matrices Q, R that are given by LQ regulator problem. The method to do this is that all the diagonal elements of weighting matrices are optimized simultaneously by GA, in the search domain selected adequately. And we design the model following control system to boi1er-turbine equipment by the proposed method. The model following control system designed by this method has the better command tracking performance than that of the control system designed by the trial-and-error method. The effectiveness of this control system is verified by computer simulation.

  • This paper proposes a new method for LQR controller design. It is unsystematic and difficult to design an LQR controller by trial and error. The proposed method is capable of systematically calculating weighting matrices for desired pole(s) by the pole's moving-range in S-plane and the relational equation between closed-loop pole(s) and weighting matrices. This will provide much-needed functionality to apply LQR controller. The example shows the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • This paper deals with LQR controller design method tor system having complex poles. The proposed method is capable of systematically calculating weighting matrices based on the pole's moving-range and the relational equation between closed-loop pole(s) and weighting matrices. The method moves complex poles to complex poles or two distinct real poles. This will provide much-needed functionality to apply LQR controller. The example shows the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • This paper deals with the delay-dependent and rate-independent stabilization of systems with multiple unknown time-varying delays and time-varying structured uncertainties. All the linear matrix inequalities based conditions are derived by employing free-weighting matrices to express the relationships between the terms in the Leibniz-Newton formula. The criteria do not require any tuning parameters. Numerical examples demonstrate the validity of the method.

  • The Object of this study is to find the relations between LQR and eigenstructure assignment regulator. Algorithms for computing weighting matrices are proposed for the case that (i) closed-loop eigenvalues are specified, and (ii) closed-loop gain matrix is given. We also present a new eigenstructure assignment algorithm that minimizes a linear quadratic performance index.

  • This paper presents sufficient conditions7 for monotonicity of the saddle point value for receding-horizon H$\infty$ control(RHHC). The resulting monotonicity is used to prove the stability of the closed-loop. Under these sufficient conditions the well-known terminal equality condition is handled as a special case and the condition on the state weighting matrix is weakened so as to include even the zero matrix. The whole procedure is much simpler than the previous results and thus is expected to be easily extended for constrained delayed and/or nonlinear systems with the RHHC.

  • An improved method based on a normal frequency response function (FRF) is proposed to identify structural parameters such as mass, stiffness and damping matrices directly from the FRFs of a linear mechanical system. The method for estimating structural parameters directly from the measured FRFs of a structure is presented. This paper demonstrates that the characteristic matrices are extracted more accurately by using a weighted equation and eliminating the matrix inverse operation. The method is verified for a four degree-of-freedom lumped parameter system and an eight degree-of-freedom finite element beam. Experimental verification is also performed for a free-free steel beam whose size and physical properties are the same as those of the finite element beam. The results show that the structural parameters, especially the damping matrix, can be estimated more accurately by the proposed method.

Condensation of independent variables in free vibration analysis of curved beams

  • In this paper, the condensation method which is based on the Rayleigh-Ritz method, is described for the free vibration analysis of axially loaded slightly curved beams subject to partial axial restraints. If the longitudinal inertia is neglected, some of the Rayleigh-Ritz minimization equations are independent of the frequency. These equations can be used to formulate a relationship between the weighting coefficients associated with the lateral and longitudinal displacements, which leads to "connection coefficient matrix". Once this matrix is formed, it is then substituted into the remaining Rayleigh-Ritz equations to obtain an eigenvalue equation with a reduced matrix size. This method has been applied to simply supported and partially clamped beams with three different shapes of imperfection. The results indicate that for small imperfections resembling the fundamental vibration mode, the sum of the square of the fundamental natural and a non-dimensional axial load ratio normalized with respect to the fundamental critical load is approximately proportional to the square of the central displacement.

  • 본 논문에서는 선형배열을 이용하여 음향을 측정하기 위한 새로운 빔형성 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안 알고리듬은, FIR 필터 설계기법에 의해 가중상수 및 원하는 빔패턴을 설정하고 이를 초기치로 사용하여 원하는 빔패턴과의 오차가 최소가 되도록 가중상수를 최적화시킨다. 전 주파수에서의 지향지수 균일성 유지를 위해 옥타브대역을 부대역으로 세분하고 의사역행렬에 의해 전달행렬을 정방행렬화하여 각 부대역별로 최적화를 수행한다. 시뮬레이션 결과 제안 알고리듬이 선형배열에서 음향측정에 적합한 빔패턴 및 지향지수를 형성시켜 음향측정에 유용함을 확인하였다.

  • 이 논문은 변수가 변화하는 시스템의 새로운 최적제어 설계 방법에 관한 것이다. 이 문제를 다루는데 사용된 방법은 라그랑지 보간법과 근의 이동범위이다. 변수가 변화하는 범위 내에서 선택된 시스템의 최적제어기의 설계 변수를 근의 이동범위를 이용하여 상태가중행렬을 계산하고 상태가중행렬을 라그랑지 보간법으로 보간하여 최적제어기를 설계하였다. 모의실험을 통해 기존의 방식과 제안한 방법을 비교하고, 기존의 최적제어 설계법보다 제안한 방식이 더 좋은 결과가 얻어지는 것을 확인하였다.
