Discussion about the Priority for the Improvement of Performer Training in Korea

  • This thesis examines a significant way to enhancing and improving the term/phenomenon of performer training system in contemporary Korean theatre. To articulate the matters, this research engages in discussing and criticizing those problematic issues that we, as an instructor/trainer, have faced with through the last decades in the field of performer training and education. Specifically, we concern with the necessity of an applicable and appropriate educational/training system where each student-actor would discover his/her own adaptability by evaluating what a specific method and approach is. This atmosphere accurately provided by an instructor/trainer can also facilitate and enhance the young students' potential possibilities and/or talent, that is, as we argue a way to accomplish each performer's true nature. To achieve the goals, we underlie the necessity of establishing and/or settling performer training program/course by means of an alternative path. The research finding shows that within the atmosphere each student could share then interrogate what a possible or ideal way is according to his/her comprehensive understandings with clearer purpose: what kind of performers would you produce, train, and/or educate.

  • In this past decade, industrial robot have substituted human workers successfully in certain areas, however, the applications are limited due to the shortcoming in their mechanism and control strategies. Many researchers, therefore, have focused on improving the mechanical and sensory capabilities. Developing mult-degree-of-freedom end effectors, in other words robot hands, is one of the topics that researchers have begun to improve the limitation. A set of direct drive type servo-pneumatic finger joint has been developed for a dexterous robot hand. To control the pneumatic finger joints, a prototype 4/3-way proportional control valve has been designed and tested as a preliminary, research for the control of the pneumatic finger joints. A series of experiments have been conducted to verify the performance characteristics of the valve and the conventional proportional error contral with minor-loop compensation has been used to control the anguar position of the finger joints.

An energy-efficiency approach for bidirectional amplified-and-forward relaying with asymmetric traffic in OFDM systems

  • Two-way relaying is an effective way of improving system spectral efficiency by making use of physical layer network coding. However, energy efficiency in OFDM-based bidirectional relaying with asymmetric traffic requirement has not been investigated. In this study, we focused on subcarrier transmission mode selection, bit loading, and power allocation in a multicarrier single amplified-and-forward relay system. In this scheme, each subcarrier can operate in two transmission modes: one-way relaying and two-way relaying. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer programming problem. We adopt a structural approximation optimization method that first decouples the original problem into two suboptimal problems with fixed subcarrier subsets and then finds the optimal subcarrier assignment subsets. Although the suboptimal problems are nonconvex, the results obtained for a single-tone system are used to transform them to convex problems. To find the optimal subcarrier assignment subsets, an iterative algorithm based on subcarrier ranking and matching is developed. Simulation results show that the proposed method can improve system performance compared with conventional methods. Some interesting insights are also obtained via simulation.

  • 수면 무호흡증 환자를 진단하는 수면다원검사는 여러 가지 생체 신호를 함께 측정하므로 피검사자의 행동을 제약하며 비용이 많이 드는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 피검사자의 심전도를 ZigBee 무선통신으로 컴퓨터 시스템에 전달하여 검사하는 방식을 제안하였다. 이 방식은 환자의 자유도를 높였을 뿐 만 아니라 수면 무호흡 검사 장소의 제약성, 시간의 한계를 극복하여 저렴한 비용으로 검사가 가능하다.

  • 본 논문에서는 국내 최초로 설치된 Custom Power기기인 배전용 STATCOM(STATic COMpensator)의 기기 신뢰성 확보를 위힌 기가 테스트 및 설계통 운전 분석결과를 보이고 있다. Custom Power는 유연송전시스템(FACTS : Flexible AC Transmission System)과 같이 교류전력계통을 제어함으로써 효율적이고 유연한 전력계통의 운용과 구성을 목적으로 한다. STATCOM은 Custom Power기기의 한 형태로 무효전력 보상, 전압조정, 그리고 전압 퓰리커 억제 등의 기능을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 STATCOM 시운전 결과 무효전력과 역률 보상에서 우수한 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있다.

New N-way Hybrid Power Combiner to Improve the Graceful Degradation Performance

  • In this paper, a new N-way hybrid power combiner for improving the graceful degradation performance has been proposed. The proposed combiner has been configured with two dummy transmission lines per each section, where each dummy transmission line has a different characteristic impedance, of the standard combiner. Under this proposed configuration, a detailed theoretical analysis has been performed to show the general function of a power combiner. When any M amplifiers among N identical amplifiers are suffering the failure mode in a power combining circuit or system, the graceful degradation performance has been improved due to the separation of a transmission line and an internal resistor in every failed section from the proposed combiner by simultaneously operating two shorting devices. Simulation results for all the items which can be measured from all the items which can be measured from the proposed combiner with an eight-way configuration have been presented.

  • 그 동안 정부기관은 소위 대민홍보를 중심으로 하는 일방향적 커뮤니케이션 구성과 방식에 익숙해져 있으며, 이로 인해 정부의 공공정책에 관심을 가지고 이를 이해하고 적극적으로 참여하는 수용자들의 태도가 극히 드물었던 것이 사실이다. 그러나 스마트 단말기의 폭발적인 보급으로 인해 정부기관의 공공정책에 대한 PR 방식이 SNS, 어플리케이션 제작 등으로 다각화되고, 이를 통해 관련 정보에 대한 수용자의 이해도는 물론 참여를 적극적으로 높이는 계기를 맞이하고 있다. 이와 같은 배경에서 본 연구는 정부 등 공공기관이 SNS를 통한 PR 캠페인 활동을 좀 더 효율적으로 구성할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 국내 및 미국의 사례를 통해 정부정책 신뢰도 제고를 위한 SNS 전략의 유형과 특징을 살펴보고 이에 대한 함의를 찾고자 했다.

Verbotonal 법을 이용한 중학생 영어 학습자의 듣기 능력 향상에 관한 연구 (On Improving the Listening Ability of Middle School Students Using Verbotonal Method)

  • The necessity for improving the English listening ability of Korean learners has been emphasized since the ultimate goal of English education converted to CLT(Communicative Language Teaching) in Korea. Verbotonal Approach as an auditory-based strategy has been proved to be effective substantially in maximizing the listening skill of spoken foreign language. The purpose of this study is to find out an efficient way of improving listening ability for Korean middle school students by employing OFH(Optimal Frequency of Hearing) using Tonality Word Sentence Test, before & after using Listen II Verbotonal training unit based on VTS(Verbotonal System). The results of the listening tests showed that the listening ability of the subjects increased by 16.7% on the words and by 5.5% on the sentences after using Listen II, compared with before using Listen II and that the improvement rate of listening ability on the level of words is much higher than that on the level of sentences. From the results, we can come to a conclusion that training the listening skill with words in mid-tonality and low-tonality based on OFH might give a great positive effect in improving listening ability for Korean learners of English.

S 대역 선형 배열 안테나 급전회로를 위한 저손실, 저부엽 20-출력 스트립라인 전력분배기 (A 20-way Stripline Power Divider for an S band Linear Array Antenna with Low Loss and Low Side Lobe Level)

  • 본 논문에서는 저부엽과 저손실 특성을 갖는 고전력 20-출력 스트립라인 전력분배기를 설계, 제작하고 측정하였다. 20-출력전력분배기는 S 대역 선형 배열 안테나의 급전회로를 위해 설계되었으며, 좁은 빔폭과 매우 낮은 저부엽 특성을 위해 Dolph-Chebyshev 전류 분포를 활용하였다. 20-출력 전력분배기는 8-출력 분배기 1개, 4-출력 분배기 3개와 링 하이브리드 전력분배기 3개로 구성되었으며, 전력분배의 기본적인 구조로는 T-접합 분배 구조를 사용하였다. 삽입손실과 반사손실을 개선하기 위해서 노치를 T-접합 분배 구조에 적용하였으며 N형 커넥터와 스트립라인 사이의 천이구조를 수정하였다. 설계, 제작된 전력분배기는 대역 내에서 약 0.3 dB의 삽입손실과 8o 보다 작은 rms 위상 부정합 특성을 보였다. 20-출력 전력분배기 2개를 대칭적으로 구성할 경우 40 dB 이상의 저부엽 특성 결과를 20-출력 전력분배기 측정 결과로부터 합성할 수 있었다.

  • The main object of this research was to study the better housing business by the Architectural Association of Chosun. The Architectural Association of Chosun was founded in 1992 and it influenced great deal on the development of Korean architecture. The Architectural Association of Chosun took the first step in business by holding the Better Housing Plan Competition which was the first housing plan competition in Korea, Also, it meant the enlightenment of better cultural housing. Overall, it can be summarized as follows; 1) It could be considered that the Architectural Association of Chosun was connected with the Japanese Colonial Policy of that time. 2) The Better Housing Plan Competition indicated the way of improving better living condition. 3) Most of the prize-wining works emphasized economical and practical way of housing. 4) The wanted to get out of the old conventional way of hosing. 5) All the plans showed \" the living\" and it meant that \" the living: is the centre of family life which connected the modern housing plan. 6) Western way of life was combined with the conventional style, in other words, modernization of life was derived from the western style. 7) Better housing plan which is more suitable for the Korean weather and environment was not considered. 8) Colonial domination of Japanese style could also be found in housing. Most of the plans used Japanese style as the basic housing style. housing style.
