In the cement industry, various research initiatives are underway to achieve carbon neutrality. Mineral carbonation is a technology that converts carbon dioxide into minerals for storage, and CO2 reactive hardening cement is a type of cement that incorporates mineral carbonation technology. In this study, we aimed to manufacture CO2 reactive hardening cement for reducing carbon emissions in the cement industry by utilizing waste concrete powder generated in the construction sector.

In this study, the effect of reducing cement by proportional addition of waste powder rubber on the performance of concrete under impact three-point bending loading were investigated experimentally and numerically. Concrete specimens were prepared by adding 5%, 10% and 20 % of rubber powder as filler to the mix and decreasing the same percentage of cement. For each case, three beams of $50mm{\times}100mm{\times}500mm$ were loaded to failure in a drop-weight impact machine by subjecting them to 20 N weight from 300mm height, while another three similar beams were tested under static load. The bending load-displacement behavior was analyzed for the plain and rubberized specimens, under static and impact loads. A three dimensional finite-element method simulation was also performed by using LUSAS V.14 in order to study the impact load-displacement behavior, and the predictions were validated with the experimental results. It was observed that, despite decreasing the cement content, the proportional addition of powder rubber until 10% could yield enhancements in impact tup, inertial load and bending load.
This is to show some basic data for introducing both circulated aggregate and recycled powder producing waste concrete. Standard-mixing design for 24MPa has been basically used and added and replaced normal aggregate with recycled powder made of waste concrete. In addition, polycarboxylate high-range water reducing agent has been used because recycled powder is missing adhesive strength and it is not compare with cement's adhesive strength. Compressive strength with powder mixture of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10% has been decreased down to 80% of normal concrete material strength without recycled powder mixture. $200^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$ and $600^{\circ}C$ heated concrete were compressively tested in order to find out concrete strength resistant to high temperature. heat capacity was also tested, based on the expectancy of its low conductivity. In addition, thermal conduction test was tested in order to find out concrete insulation. According to this test, when concrete was tested by fire resistance, it using the circulation aggregate was same resulted by concrete using the natural aggregate. also, recycle powder was not effecting insulation performance. but it is fit to standard on concrete insulation of building law.

Cement is a basic material for the construction industry and it requires high temperature sintering when manufacturing cement. $CO_2$ emissions from raw materials and fuels are recognized as new environmental problems and efforts are underway to reduce them. Techniques for reducing $CO_2$ in concrete are also recommended to use blended cement such as blast furnace slag or fly ash. In addition, the construction waste generated in the dismantling of concrete structures is recognized as another environmental problem. Thus, various methods are being implemented to increase the recycling rate. The purpose of this study is to utilize the inorganic raw materials generated during the dismantling of the structure as a raw material for the low carbon type cement binder. Such as, waste concrete powder, waste cement block, waste clay brick and waste textile as raw materials for low carbon type cement binder. From the research results, low carbon type cement binder was manufactured from the raw material composition of waste concrete powder, waste cement block, waste clay brick and waste textile.

This study is conducted to utilize waste concrete powder (WCP) made as a by-product manufacturing high quality recycled aggregate. The blaine fineness of the used waste concrete powder was $928cm^2/g$. As the main characteristic of waste concrete powder, it showed an angular type similar to cement, but hydrated products were attached on the surface of particles. In addition, the size of the particles of waste concrete powder was larger than OPC and in terms of chemical components it had higher $SiO_2$ contents. For using WCP in soil cement-based pavement, the qualities, physical and chemical properties, of WCP should be researched. In the first step, the specified compressive strength of mortar for two types of clay sand soil and clay soil respectively was experimented to be 15 MPa and then optimum mixing ratio of chemical solidification agent were decided in the range of 1.5 - 3.0% in the replacement with cement weight content. In the second step, based on the prior experimental results, recycling possibility of WCP in soil cement-based pavement was studied. In the result of experiment the mixing ratio of WCP were 5, 10, 15 and 20% in the replacement with soil weight and the compressive strength of mortar was somewhat decreased according to the increase of the mixing ratio of WCP.

In the realm of cement manufacturing, concerted efforts are underway to mitigate the emission of greenhouse gases. A significant portion, approximately 60%, of these emissions during the cement clinker sintering process is attributed to the decarbonation of limestone, which serves as a fundamental ingredient in cement production. Prompted by these environmental concerns, there is an active pursuit of alternative technologies and admixtures for cement that can substitute for limestone. Concurrently, initiatives are being explored to harness technology within the cement industry for the capture of carbon dioxide from industrial emissions, facilitating its conversion into carbonate minerals via chemical processes. Parallel to these technological advances, economic growth has precipitated a surge in construction activities, culminating in a steady escalation of construction waste, notably waste concrete. This study is anchored in the innovative production of calcium silicate cement clinkers, utilizing finely powdered waste concrete, followed by a thorough analysis of their mineral phases. Through X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis, it was observed that increasing the substitution level of waste concrete powder and the molar ratio of SiO2 to (CaO+SiO2) leads to a decrease in Belite and γ-Belite, whereas minerals associated with carbonation, such as wollastonite and rankinite, exhibited an upsurge. Furthermore, the formation of gehlenite in cement clinkers, especially at higher substitution levels of waste concrete powder and the aforementioned molar ratio, is attributed to a synthetic reaction with Al2O3 present in the waste concrete powder. Analysis of free-CaO content revealed a decrement with increasing substitution rate of waste concrete powder and the molar ratio of SiO2/(CaO+SiO2). The outcomes of this study substantiate the viability of fabricating calcium silicate cement clinkers employing waste concrete powder.

Increasing of waste FRP (fiber reinforced plastics) has caused environmental problems. Recently, the technology of making fibers from waste FRP, which can be used to reinforce the concrete, was developed and the reinforced concretes were tested to study the structural performance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the powder, obtained together with F-fiber from the waste FRP, on the compressive strength and the fire resistance performance as in the high strength concrete. Strength tests show that the use of recycled FRP powder does not reduce the compressive strength of high strength concrete if the volume fraction of FRP powder is less than 0.7%. Electric furnace test results also show that the use of recycled FRP powder may increase the fire resistance performance of high strength concrete significantly.
This paper evaluates the efficacy of magnesium potassium phosphate cements (MKPCs) as waste forms for the solidification of radioactive concrete powder wastes produced by the decommissioning of nuclear power plants. MKPC specimens that contained up to 50 wt% of simulated concrete powder wastes (SCPWs) were evaluated. We measured the porosity and compressive strength of the MKPC specimens, observing them using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The addition of SCPWs reduced the porosity and increased the compressive strength of the MKPC specimens. Struvite-K crystals were well-synthesized, and no additional crystal phase was formed. After thermal cycling and after immersion, MKPC specimens with 50 wt% SCPWs satisfied the waste-acceptance criteria (WAC) for compressive strength. Semi-dynamic leaching tests were performed using the ANS 16.1 method; the leachability indices of Cs, Co, and Sr were 11.45, 17.63, and 15.66, respectively, which also satisfy the WAC. Thus, MKPCs can provide stable matrices to immobilize radioactive concrete wastes generated by the decommissioning of nuclear power plants.

The recycle of domestic waste concrete is, however, still in an early stage, and it has been only partially being used for the road fillers. As a counter-plan of activating recycled concrete, we have confirmed the hydration possibility of the waste concrete powder from the experiment on recycling the aggregate powder since 2000. Though that study, we have known that the strength is increasing when the baking time is longer, and baking temperature maintain in $700^{\circ}C$. Also, the quality is lowered because of the fine aggregate powder which has a bad influence on flowability & compression strength by adhesion of mortar on the aggregate face. Therefore, mortar and interfacial separation of aggregate are large in proper quality for concrete recycling is expected that affect. The purpose of this study is to investigate effective aggregate separation and to determine the most suitable production method controlling the duration of baking time for recycled cement from the compressive strength, X-ray diffraction and ingredient analysis test.
