In this work, we proposed a graded gate-doping structure to alleviate an electric field in p-GaN gate layer in order to improve the reliability of normally-off GaN power devices. In a TCAD simulation by Silvaco Atlas, a distribution of the graded p-type doping concentration was optimized to have a threshold voltage and an output current characteristics as same as the reference device with a uniform p-type gate doping. The reduction of an maximum electric field in p-GaN gate layer was observed and it suggests that the gate reliability of p-GaN gate HFETs can be improved.
The microstructures and mechanical properties of Dual Phase (DP), Transformation-Induced Plasticity (TRIP), and Quenching & Partitioning (Q&P) steels were investigated in order to define the strengthening mechanism of 0.2 C steel. An intercritical annealing between Ac1 and Ac3 was conducted to produce DP and TRIP steel, followed by quenching the DP and TRIP steel being quenched at to room temperature and by the TRIP steel being austemperingaustempered-air cooling cooled the steel toat room temperature, respectively. The Q&P steel was produced from full austenization, followed by quenching to the temperature between $M_s$ and $M_f$, and then enriching the carbon to stabilize the austenite throughout the heat treatment. For the DP and TRIP steels, as the intercritical annealing temperature increased, the tensile strength increased and the elongation decreased. The strength variation was due to the amount of hard phases, i.e., martensite and bainite, respectively in the DP and TRIP steels. It was also found that the elongation also decreased with the amount of soft ferrite in the DP and TRIP steels and with the amount of the that was retained in the austenite phasein the TRIP steel, respectively for the DP and TRIP steels. For the Q&P steel, as the partitioning time increased, the elongation and the tensile strength increased slightly. This was due to the stabilized austenite that was enriched with carbon, even when the amount of retained austenite decreased as the partitioning time increased from 30 seconds to 100 seconds.
This study was carried out to provide radon concentration and exposure in building. The average radon concentrations of building was measured 1.37 pCi/L in basement, 0.95 pCi/L in 1st layer, 0.74 pCi/L in 2nd layer, 0.56 pCi/L in 3rd layer, and 0.4 pCi/L in 4th layer, respectively. The average radon concentration of basement was measured the higher than any other stairs. Daily average distribution of radon concentrations in building shown that radon concentrations measured in morning at 8hr was the highest value. Monthly average distribution of radon concentrations shown 0.28 ${\pm}$ 0.17 pCi/L in April and 0.82 pCi/L in December that was the highest value. The average concentrations of radon was measured 0.38pCi/L in spring. 0.44 pCi/L in summer, 0.53 pCi/L in autumn, and 0.67 pCi/L in winter, respectively. This result shown that the average concentrations of radon in winter was the higher than any other seasons. That reasons was supposed that effect of number of exchanges and using air conditions was the higher in summer than winter.
Regulation of invertase biosynthesis was studied with the E. coil harboring recombinant plasmid, pYC17. Biosynthesis of invertase in the recombinant E. coil was effectively induced in the presence of 30mM of sucrose for 3h. Glucose also repressed the invertase induction in the recombinant E. coil at 10 mM, lower than that of parent strain (30 mM).
For enhanced cavitation erosion resistance of vessel propellers, an electroless Ni-P plating method was introduced to form a coating layer with high hardness on the surface of Cu alloy (CAC703C) used as vessel propeller material. An electroless Ni-P plating reaction generated by Fe atoms in the Cu alloy occurred, forming a uniform amorphous layer with P content of ~10 wt%. The amorphous layer transformed to (Ni3P+Ni) two phase structure after heat treatment. Cavitation erosion tests following the ASTM G-32 standard were carried out to relate the microstructural changes by heat treatment and the cavitation erosion resistance in distilled water and 3.5 wt% NaCl solutions. It was possible to obtain excellent cavitation erosion resistance through careful microstructural control of the coating layer, demonstrating that this electroless Ni-P plating process is a viable coating process for the enhancement of the cavitation erosion resistance of vessel propellers.

A numerical study on lifted flame structure in impinging jet geometry with syngas composition ratio was investigated. The numerical calculations including chemical kinetic analysis were conducted using SPIN application of the CHEMKIN Package with Davis-Mechanism. The flame temperature and velocity profiles were calculated at the steady state for one-dimensional stagnation flow geometry. Syngas mixture compositions were adjusted such as $H_2:CO=10:90(10P)$, 20 : 80 (20P), 30 : 70 (30P), 40 : 60 (40P), 50 : 50 (50P). As composition ratios are changed from 10P to 50P, the axial velocity and flame temperature increase because the contents of hydrogen that have faster burning velocity increase. This phenomenon is due to increase in good reactive radicals such as H, OH radical. As a result of active reactivity, the burning velocity is more faster and this is confirmed by numerical methods. Consequently, combustion reaction zone was moved to burner nozzle.
The electrokinetic technology was applied in bioremediation for the purpose of supplying a Pseudomonas strain capable of degrading diesel to contaminated soil bed, and their biodegradation of diesel was carried out after a desired cell distribution was obtained. Electrokinetic injection of the strain was made possible because the cells acted as negatively charged particles at neutral pH, and thus the cells were transported with a precise directionality through the soil mostly by the mechanism of electrophoresis and in part by electroosmosis. A severe pH change in the soil bed was formed due to the penetration of electrolysis products, which was harmful to the cell viability and cell transport. To achieve a desirable cell transport and distribution, the control of pH in soil bed by a recirculating buffer solution in electrode chambers was essential during the appliation of an electric field. The judicious selections of electrolyte concentration and conductivity were also important for achieving an efficient electrokinetic cell transport since a higher electrolyte concentration favored the maintenance of pH stability in soil bed, but lowered electrophoretic mobility on the other hand. With electrolyte solution of pH 7 phosphate buffer, a 0.05 M concentration showed a better cell transport buffer, a 0.05 M concentration showed a better cell transport than 0.02 M and 0.08 M. The cell under pH 8 were obtained, compared to the cells under pH 7 or pH 9 in a given time period Up to $60\%$ of diesel was degraded in 8 days by the Pseudomonas cell, which were distributed electrokinetically under the conditions of pH 8 ($1,800{\mu}S/cm$, a mixture of phosphate and ammonia buffers) and 40 mA in a soil bed of 15 cm length.
The aim of the present study was to determine the influence of age of animal, hot carcass weight, pH, conformation and fat class on basic beef quality attributes (tenderness, sarcomere length, basic chemical composition, marbling and colour) in a group of purebred animals. The object of the study was beef of Limousin bulls (25 to 27 months, hot carcass weight - $432{\pm}31$ kg, "U" conformation class, "2"-"3" fat class). Analysed cuts were Infraspinatus muscle from the blade and Longissimus dorsi muscle from the cube roll and the striploin. Tenderness was analysed with universal testing machine, colour - chromometer analysis, sarcomere length - microscopic method, basic chemical composition - near-infrared spectroscopy and marbling - computer image analysis. No differences in tenderness and sarcomere length were observed within the age groups of Limousin bulls (age of 25, 26, 27 months) (p>0.05). Moisture (p = 0.0123) and fat (p = 0.0250) content were significantly different for meat of animals slaughtered at the age of 25 and 27 months. No influence of pH value on tenderness was observed, but at the same time, influence on sarcomere length (p = 0.039) and $b^*$ component of colour (0.045) was found. For "U" conformation class, in subclasses, as well as for fat classes "2"-"3", there were no differences in tenderness, sarcomere length and colour components. Higher fat content was observed in the higher fat class, rather than in lower, however this feature was not associated with marbling.

The rutile phase of TiO2 forms a stable phase at high temperatures compared to anatase phase, but the stable temperature range of anatase changes depending on the synthesis conditions. In this study, nano-sized TiO2 was synthesized by the Sol-gel method using TiOSO4 and a mixed solvent of ethanol and distilled water, and the phase change of anatase and rutile according to pH and heat treatment temperature was investigated. Changes in the ratio of anatase and rutile were observed by changing the pH (3, 5, 7, 9) and heat treatment temperature (500, 600, 700, 800, 900℃) conditions of the prepared TiO2. As a result of observing these changes through XRD and FE-SEM analysis, anatase TiO2 at 500℃ and rutile TiO2 at 900℃ were observed. According to the pH, at these intermediate temperatures of 600, 700 and 800℃, the ratio of anatase and rutile changes. At 700℃, it was concluded that pH = 3~5 had a larger ratio of anatase TiO2, and pH = 7~9 had a larger ratio of rutile TiO2.

We prepared polycatenar 1H-imidazole amphiphiles having a structure in which a 1H-imidazole head was connected through a benzene ring to a pheny group having two or three oligo(ethylene glycol) chains and studied their supramolecular assembly by fluorescence spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). When the aqueous solutions of the amphiphiles ($5{\times}10^{-5}M{\sim}10^{-3}M$) were deposited onto a carbon-coated copper grid and dried, twisted structures with diameters of ~200-300 nm were imaged by TEM and AFM. We presume that the structures comprised a chain of the amphiphile dimers formed via successive hydrogen bonding between the 1H of the imidazole group and 3N of the neighboring one. In a solution of pH 4, entangled fibers with diameters of several nanometers were observed by TEM. In a pH 10 solution, film-like aggregates formed exclusively. The 1H-imidazole amphiphiles hydrolyzed tetraethoxysilane to induce gelation to form fibrous and spherical silica structures at neutral pH in aqueous solutions. No silica was formed when imidazole was used instead of the amphiphiles, suggesting that the selfassembled aggregates of the amphiphiles were responsible for the gelation.
