  • The WAP gateway. for wireless internet applications services, is a software that is placed between the user terminals(PDA, mobile phones) and the WAP/Web server. H is a middleware system that converts the protocol of a packet network to the protocol on the WAP network, and supports the encoding of WML documents. In this paper, we designed and implemented the WAP gateway based on the WAP specification version 1.2 announced by the WAP forum. It provides cross-platform compatibility by being implemented by the Java language. Compared with a Kannel system using a Nokia tool kit version 1.2, it provides a more excellent performance and a stability.

  • As the interest in the wireless internet services is increasing recently, the related technology development is in active progress. According to WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) specification which is currently considered as one of the most powerful international standardizations, mobile terminal and WAP server are supposed to communicate through WAP Gateway. This paper is about the design and implementation of IWAP platform where WAP Gateway and Server are integrated and supported based on Linux. The proposed WAP platform broadly consists of four modules like WAP Gateway, JAVA based Server development environment, WML Tool-Kit, and MUL (Management User Interface) and for bearer network, SMSC (Short Message Service Center) and CSD (Circuit Switched Data) router are considered.

  • The WAP 2.0 system is a newly proposed wireless communication system by the WAP Forum for interoperability across Internet environment and the system takes charge of communication between WAP terminals and existing origin Web servers. The purpose of this paper is 1) to construct a WAP 2.0 proxy proposed by the WAP Forum and 2) to improve the WAP Proxy in order to increase communication efficiency between wired and wireless communication objects. The Improved WAP proxy constructed in this study provides links between wired and wireless communication environments using the split-TCP concept. However, unlike the split-TCP connection, The improved WAP proxy maintains TCP's end-to-end semantics and reduces overhead by avoiding operations as much as possible on the upper protocol layer. In addition, The improved WAP proxy supports SACK(Selective Acknowledgement ) option and Timestamp option for speedy re-transmission which leads to reduction of performance degradation. After constructing the improved WAP proxy under Linux environment, experiments have been taken. The experimental results show that, compared with the experiments when a WAP proxy proposed by the WAP Forum is used, both data transmission delay time and data transmission size decrease to show that communication efficiency is increased. In particular, as packet missing ratio Increases, data transmission size decreases, which demonstrates that the improved WAP proxy is very effective for performance improvement in wireless communication environment.

Performance Analysis of WAP Packet Considering Multi-Slot SAR-QT Algorithm in Bluetooth Ad hoc Network (Bluetooth Ad hoc 망에서 멀티 슬롯 SAR-QT 알고리즘을 고려한 WAP 패킷의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, it is analyzed that WAP packet transmission time to improve performance of WAP using SAR-QT algorithm in Bluetooth channel. The order for SAR-QT algorithm to improve the transfer capability, it is fragmented in WTP total messages that are coming down from upper layer and then the packets are sent one at time in baseband. And it is studied that transmission time for WAP over Bluetooth according to DMI, DM3 or DM5 packet type using SAR-QT algorithm in Bluetooth piconet environment. This SAR-QT algorithm decreases WAP packet transmission time of L2CAP baseband packets by sending packet that are spanning multiple slots. From the results, in WAP over Bluetooth channels, it is found out that WTP packet size ought to be increased to decrease transmission time of WAP packet. In addition, considering BER in wireless channel, optimal WTP packet size is achieved for WAP over Bluetooth in a Rician fading environment.

  • WAP forum에서 제안한 WAP은 무선 인터넷을 위해 전세계적으로 가장 많이 사용되는 규격으로 무선 환경의 제약성을 고려하여 설계되었다 WAP은 다양한 응용 서비스의 보안을 위해 WTLS, WMLScript Crypto Library, WIM 그리고 WPKI에 대한 규격을 포함하지만 게이트웨이 모델을 사용함에 따른 구조적인 보안 결함을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 WAP보안을 위한 구성 요소들에 대해 검토하고 현재 WAP 보안의 문제점에 대해 논의한 후 그것을 해결하기 위한 WAP forum 의 보안 표준화 방향에 대해 고찰하고자 한다.

  • As the Internet and wireless mobile communication is being widespread, the WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) that merges these two technologies has emerged. Also, the research of the WAP gateway that enables efficient processing of multiple user demands concurrently and prompt response to requests from various wireless devices has been performed in many working groups. The WAP stack is the most fundamental technology among these researches. In this paper, we implement the WAP container utilizing the JAVA's multithreading and applying to the connection pooling technique to manage the available resource in the container efficiently. Also, we design and implement the WTP(Wireless Transaction Protocol) layer and the UDP(User Datagram Protocol) layer based on the priority Policy. Our design and implementation showed the shorter waiting time than that of the existing FCFS(First-Come, First-Served) system in the transaction layer and its efficiency was proved through simulation.

Genomic Organization and Isoform-Dependent Expression Patterns of Wap65 genes in Various Tissues during Immune Challenges in the Mud Loach Misgurnus mizolepis

  • Genomic organization, including the structural characteristics of 5'-flanking regions of two 65-kDa protein (WAP65) isoform genes associated with warm temperature acclimation, were characterized and their transcriptional responses to immune challenges were examined in the intestine, kidney and spleen of the mud loach (Misgurnus mizolepis; Cypriniformes). Both mud loach Wap65 isoform genes displayed a 10-exon structure that is common to most teleostean Wap65 genes. The two mud loach Wap65 isoforms were predicted to possess various stress- and immune-related transcription factor binding sites in their regulatory regions; however, the predicted motif profiles differed between the two isoforms, and the inflammation-related transcription factor binding motifs, such as NF-${\kappa}B$ and CREBP sites, were more highlighted in the Wap65-2 isoform than the Wap65-1 isoform. The results of qRT-PCR indicated that experimental immune challenges using Edwardsiella tarda, lipopolysaccharide or polyI:C induced the Wap65-2 isoform more than Wap65-1 isoform, although modulation patterns in response to these challenges were tissue- and stimulant-dependent. This study confirms that functional diversification between the two mud loach Wap65 isoforms (i.e., closer involvement of Wap65-2 in the acute phase of inflammation and innate immunity) occurs at the mRNA level in multiple tissues, and suggests that such differential modulation patterns between the two isoforms are related to the different transcription factor binding profiles in their regulatory regions.

A Performance Comparative between WAP Service and JAVA Wireless Internet Service (무선 인터넷의 WAP 기반 서비스와 자바 기반 서비스간의 성능 비교)

  • There are many development methods to implement wireless internet service. These methods are WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) based services and Java based service WAP based service has been proposed to support limited convenience for user But Java based service can support many convenience and GUI(Graphic User Interface) and easy to use to access for user. This paper will be propose a WAP based application development method and Java based application development method. As an illustrative experiment, WAP based service and Java based service are used to show performance for each systems.

  • We provide some examples around AP and WAP spaces which are connected with higher convergence properties-radiality, semiradiality and pseudoradiality. We also prove a theorem (Theorem 3.2) that (a) any pseudo-open continuous image of an AP-space is an AP-space and (b) any pseudo-open continuous image of an WAP-space is an WAP-space. This answers the question posed by V. V. Tkachuk and I. V. Yaschenko [10].
