  • The elementary experiment was performed to develop the emulsified fuel production system using pressure injection nozzle in this study. The stabilities and characteristics of emulsified fuel which is produced through direct spray of water via pressure injection nozzle into oil are examined. To understand performance of emulsion production, stabilities of emulsified fuel which is made by adding water to the mixed fuel of Bunker-C and 10 $^{\sim}$ 50 vol% of heating oil were investigated.   • Semiconductor wafer fabrication is a business of high capital investment and fast changing nature. To be competitive, the production in a fab needs to be effectively planned and scheduled starting from the ramping up phase, so that the business goals such as on-time delivery, high output volume and effective use of capital intensive equipment can be achieved. In this paper, we propose Stand Alone layout and In-Line layout are analyzed and compared while varying number of device variable changes. The comparison is performed through simulation using ProSys; a window 98 based discrete system simulation software, as a tool for comparing performance of two proposed layouts. The comparison demonstrates that when the number of device variable change is small, In-Line layout is more efficient in terms of production quantity. However, as the number of device variable change is more than 14 titles, Stand Alone layout prevails over In-Line layout.

  • A process for efficient recycle fed-batch culture was carried out to increase cell mass and spore production by Lactic acid bacteria isolated from Kimchi. A large quantity of cell mass obtained by feeding concentration of sugar in recycle fed-batch culture. When the high density of salt was created that the cell mass was come-down. In this study, cultured in different feeding concentration of sugar conditions. Lactic acid bacteria by recycle fed-batch culture was investigated in 2L working volume of fermenter, obtained the maximum cell mass was 15.17g/L.

  • Since recent production system becomes that of the small quantity, large volume with high quality production, accurate and high speed inspection system is required. In such situation, noncontact 3D measurement system which utilized CCD cameras is useful technique in terms of system cost, speed of data acquisition, measuring accuracy and application. However, it has low accuracy compared with contact 3D measurement system because of the camera distortion, non uniformity of laser distribution and so on. For those reasons, in this paper precision enhancement method is studied considering radial camera distortion, and laser distribution. A distortion correction method is applied even to the standard lens. The laser slit beam trajectory is determined by 3 method: based of the Gaussian function signal approximation, the median method, the center of gravity method and the peak point of the Gaussian function method.

  • In case of Korea, the entire volume of TFT-LCD Top Chassis was previously imported from Japan. However, Se-jong Hitech in Korea has successfully introduced the mass production system using domestic technology, and even in terms of quality, cost and the delivery timing, the production capability of Korea now becomes superior to that of Japan. Se-jong Hitech has grown to be the most competitive one in the domestic market in Korea, and the current market share of the firm was turned out to be more than 70%. There reasons for the success of Se-jong Hitech might be the effort for fully credible relationship with the large corporations, the effective use of catch-up strategy, the core competence and the manager's business midset, etc.

  • Runoff and water quality was monitored from a watershed with small-scale livestock production farms. To evaluate pollution potential, land use, population, the size of livestock production of each farm, and livestock management method were surveyed. Climate and stream flow data were measured. Water samples were taken periodically for base flow conditions and some storm events. Pollutant loading was estimated by flow volume and concentrations of constituents. Delivery ratio of pollutant load was determined using estimated pollutant load.

  • The work aims to evaluate the necessary physical properties of Abrasion Resistant Pavers designed for high volume pedestrian and road vehicle traffic and their influence on the selection of raw materials and ceramic processes. The pavers' specifications such as high strength and ware resistance demand a careful clay preparation, slow drying, slow firing and a balanced chemical and mineralogical composition. Therefore, developing abrasion Resistant Pavers in existing modern brickmaking plants, which are designed primarily for making bricks and pavers for domestic applications, has become a challenge for manufacturers and ceramic professionals. The significance of quality control and research and development in the production of these high class pavers is also emphasised in this work through the investigation of a paver that exhibits shrinkage cracking.

  • The purpose of the present investigation was to develop a novel method for cell immobilization. Aureobasidium pullulans cells were mixed with an alginate solution, and the mixture was extruded to form small gel beads as hydrated- immobilized cells. The beads were then placed at $-15^{\circ}C$ for 6-24 h to induce freeze-dehydration. The freeze-dehydration resulted in shrinkage of beads due to water removal reducing bead volume by 82% and bead weight by 85%. The dehydrated beads were successfully used for the production of fructo-oligosaccharides in a model reactor system. This study showed that bioreactor performance can be improved up to 2 times by the use of the dehydrated beads.

  • There have been a huge volume of researches concerning dispatching rules in job shop environments. Strangely, studies all but one pay no attention to multiple identical jobs due to the existence of production orders each of which calls for a fixed quantity, called an order size, of a specific part. Jobs arrive in the form of production orders in most, if not all, job shop type flexible manufacturing systems. This paper presents simple processing-time-based dispatching rules, and shows experimentally based on simulation that the rules with order-size considerations perform consistently well for tardiness and utilization measures. Several alternative strategies for rule specifications are examined.

  • Electronics in modern lives have become more miniaturized and precise. Multi Layered Ceramic Capacitor (MLCC) occupies 50% of electronic components consisting of electronics. This high volume of the production needs high speed and more precise machine performances. The dominate parts of the production equipments are the module transporting components and the visual inspection module. Most visual inspection has been off-line because of the image processing time. In this paper, a new image processing method is proposed to reduce thousands of matrix calculation for image processing and realize on-line high speed inspection.
