  • This study is aimed to investigate the dimension feature of the plane about the economic type farming village Korean-style house progressed in the Chonnam province and Longitudinal feature and tries to reveal this feature through the comparing analysis with the traditional house positioned in the Chonnam province. This result is as follows. First, the main feature in plane is the setting up the column interval in front when comparing the house of Happy Village and traditional house. In case house of the Happy Village, after firstly fixed the limited scales, sizes are determined, this is due to control the set up in the post interval in this in range. Second, in the case of the traditional houses, 0.68 ratio of the building height about the side length and 0.19 ratio of the eaves extrusion about the side length are consistent ratio about dimensions. However, there is no consistent ratio or fixed law, the various dimensions show up in case of the house of Happy Village. It will be inevitable that space of the post increases for the convenience of life of the modern people. However, it has to sublate and to disregard as the identity of the morphological shown up in the Korean-style house the more various construction standards will need to be presented.

  • The purpose of this study is on identifying the restoration guidelines of supplementary village grove and villageside forest in case of Neunggil village in Jinan county of Korea. These forests were managed very well before industrialization by village residents in order to obtain fuels and organic fertilizers traditionally. But recently, these forests were abandoned by using natural gas, oil and chemical fertilizer. Therefore, species diversity of these forests was downward and traditional rural landscape was lost. Accordingly, this study suggested the restoration guidelines of these forests through restoring the relationship between man and nature. For this, vegetation map was made by quadrat method. And management guidelines of these forests were suggested by the analysis of vegetation map. Also, for the restoration of supplementary village grove, Miyawiki professor's method of Yokohama university through introducing potential natural vegetation was suggested.

  • Gamcheon village was a poor village in the past, but it recently has boomed as a representative tourists' attraction in the region. Its unique topography and history have played a significant role in the town's growth as a famous tourists' attraction. The factors contributed decisively to the formation of a special spatial structure there. In the process of the town's rapid development as a tourists' destination, however, the tourism overflowed. As such, the interests of the residents and the tourists conflicted, and the segregation between the two has augmented. These gaps seem to have enormously distorted the perception of the spaces as much as they have seriously distracted the existing traffic circulations in the village. The purpose of this study is to identify the differences in spatial perception of both residents and tourists in the Gamcheon village. For the purpose, it assumes the residents' natural movements and the tourists' purposeful movements, and they are analyzed by the space syntax. The major findings are that the circulations of the residents and the tourists in the village are clearly separated and that the two groups perceive the same space completely differently. This confirms the fact that even the same space could be recognized and used in a totally different way depending on the users' purposes.

We identified the relationships between performances such as increasing village income and utilization of rural amenity resources to the CRVDP and operational management types of the rural experience programs as well. Employing principle component analysis and cluster analysis technique, this study found 5 clusters of rural experience programs among 168 CRVDPs. The results of analysis of variance indicated that there were significant the mean differences between clusters such as the utilization of rural amenity resources(0.01), income of rural experience programs(0.1). According to the result of the Chi-squire test, there was very significant differences between internet homepage operation and clusters(0.01). Finally, the analysis of covariance about the income of rural experience programs showed that there were significant the mean differences between clusters(0.05).

The literature search was based on policy projects in the forest sector by 8 upper-level local governments including mountain villages. For questionnaire items, 173 forest policy projects were classified into 27 types through expert review, and the importance and performance of each type were rated on a 5-point Likert scale. Paired t-test, IPA, Locus for Focus model, and Borich needs assessment were used as the analysis methods, and the statistical program SPSS 21.0 was used as the analytical tool. Results: The results showed that 'creating forest-related jobs' and 'supporting cultivation of professional forestry workers' both showed high importance and performance, implying that they would show an effect in mountain village promotion. • In 1960's, Korea had concentrated on economic development, in the meantime the existing problem which is an avoiding rural settlement phenomenon such as a farming population decrease, an unstabel income, poor surroundings, etc. could intensify. And because of an exodus from agricultural area caused by industrialization and a fall of agricultural farm price as a result of domestic agricultural market opening in accordance with FTA, in 2004 Korean government excuted the integrated rural-village development plan as a measure to provide more support for agricultural villages. The integrated rural-village development plan means that inter-connected with villages which have potnetial and developed it as a unit of small-zone, also we can assume it a Down-up development type because residents participate and lead this plan directly. But, this plan made progress rapidly as a countmeasure of government so, it needs to evaluate for completed project area and make an improvement for a sustainable undertaking. Therefore, this study categorized project contents systematically into two parts of Hardware and Software, after that composed of 4 large-parts, 13 mid-parts and 43 small-parts from Inje-Yongdai zone which was designated for an integrated rural-village development plan in 2004. And a result of analysis for project contents priorities by hierarchy analysis method showed the Regional capability reinforcement is selected for the most important project content by 3 stakeholders who are specialists (514pts.), Korea Rural Community Corporation staffs (694pts.), local government officers (688pts.)

  • The aim of the research was to analyze a correlation between rural villages and a space of amenity resources in order to provide objective basic data for rural renewal planning in the future. 15 villages were selected to analyze amenity resources. A Space Syntax Method(SSM) was used to analyze a spacial structure of each village and location characteristics of amenity resources. Finally, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS) was used for a cluster analysis. The results of spacial analysis showed that the MeanDepth of rural villages was 4.482 and Global Integration Value(GInteg) was 0.956. Relatively, a depth was lower and GInteg was higher, compared to other villages. Rural villages were easily recognized and accessible by outsiders, compared to mountain and fishing villages. In the case of rural villages, the MeanDepth of amenity resources was low and GInteg was high in the results of cluster analysis using a nonhierachical method. Results indicated that an access was easy and amenity resources were closely located each other. However, the deviation of each village was great in mountain villages. This research suggests that an effective maintenance of road network for improving accessibility would be given priority in an undeveloped farming and fishing villages' renewal. Especially, using a spacial analysis in village renewal planning process can improve accessibility and maximize an utilization of public facilities and amenity resources.

  • As a basic life-supporting infra in modem life, road should carry out various functions; transport, public linear network service, open activity space. Case study villages were divided into plan-based improved one(3 subtypes) and not one(4 subtypes). On total 21 case study villages($3{\times}7$ subtypes), questionnaire surveys were performed. Villagers' satisfaction level to road conditions in the plan-based improved villages showed much higher than not improved ones, which means that improvement of village roads be a vital subject in level-up of quality of rural life. Traffic function of village roads was responded as a principal one, while other various functions as between-villagers communication, car-parking and accommodation of public utilities were also required. In this viewpoint, village roads should be multi-purposedly developed in future. So, it was concluded that the road improvement strength would vary with geographical and topographical conditions of each village. Although villagers' unsatisfaction level on road service was very high, their demand level of and supporting will toward road improvement works have continuously increased, so, it would be considered to be the very time that full-fledged village road improvement policy be initiated.
