Rotary kiln furnace is one of the most widely used reactors in industrial field. In this paper, 0-dimensional heat and mass balance for direct coal flame rotary kiln was performed preferentially, then a simplified 1-dimensional model was developed based on 0-dimensional analysis data to proceed additional thermal analysis. Compared the results with the currently operating rotary kiln data to validate 1-dimensional model. Through this procedure, it can help to derive fundamental idea for design and operation of rotary kiln.

We present a finite difference method for solving the Ohta-Kawasaki model, representing a model of mesoscopic phase separation for the block copolymer. The numerical methods for solving the Ohta-Kawasaki model need to inherit the mass conservation and energy dissipation properties. We prove these characteristic properties and solvability and unconditionally gradient stability of the scheme by using Hessian matrices of a discrete functional. We present numerical results that validate the mass conservation, and energy dissipation, and unconditional stability of the method.

In this paper, a nonlinear high-order difference scheme is proposed to solve the Extended-Fisher-Kolmogorov equation. The existence, uniqueness of difference solution and priori estimates are obtained. Furthermore, the convergence of the difference scheme is proved by utilizing the energy method to be of fourth-order in space and second-order in time in the discrete $L^{\infty}-norm$. Some numerical examples are given in order to validate the theoretical results.

This paper describes the design of an adaptive closed circuit anesthesia controller based on a multiplexed mass spectrometer system. The controller deals with measurement deterioration caused by measurement delay and rise time through a tong catheter as well as long sampling times due to the multiplexed measurements. Measurement data is extrapolated between sampling periods to increase the estimation convergence rate. A multiple-step-ahead predictive control algorithm is used to calculate intermediatc control inputs between sampling intervals. Simulations are used to validate the designed controller.

This paper presents the design and implementation of a low-profile power supply developed for AC-PDP application systems. In the proposed power supply, planar magnetics and SMD devices are integrated into advanced power conversion techniques to implement a low-profile power supply applicable to most AC-PDP application systems. Engineering details on the design and fabrication of planar magnetic components are presented. The performance of the prototype power supply is also demonstrated to validate the application potentials of the proposed power supply.

Various manufacturing methods are analyzed by using manufacturing metrics to validate which method would be applicable to flexible microelectronics. Among others, Roll-to-Roll method is revealed to inherently have an excessive WIP resulting in long cycle time and limited diversity as well as low equipment efficiency.

Motorized retractors enhance the safety of passengers by removing the slack of webbing and by holding upright driving position. Reliability of a driving mechanism that includes one-way clutch between the driving motor and webbing is directly linked to the safety of passenger. In this research, conditions for locking one-way clutch and also conditions for sustaining locking are theoretically investigated. the operation of a motorized retractor under realistic conditions is simulated in order to validate the proposed retractor design.

Talniflumate is a potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug widely prescribed in rheumatoid diseases. The purpose of this work was to develop and validate a specific and robust method for the simultaneous determination of talniflumate and its metabolite, niflumic acid, in human plasma. Recently, Statistical Energy Analysis(SEA) is being increasingly applied to describe vibro-acoustic behavior of complex structures, such as air plane, automobile, ship, building. In this paper, we discuss the application of SEA to predict the interior noise for KTX train. To validate the SEA model of KTX train, calculated the interior noise for motorized car is compared to measured one. Finally, the reduction measures of interior noise for KTX are also discussed.

This paper proposes an intelligent simulation generator, called INSIMS, for manufacturing systems. The INSIMS provides an interactive dialogue interactive dialogue interface and code generation tools for modeling and code genration of manufacturing systems. The interactive dialogue interface helps non-expert simulation modeler specify manufacturing systems with ease. After completing the model construction processes, the modeling specifications are automatically converted into SLAM II codes by code generation tools. To validate the usefulness of INSIMS and to illustrate the modeling processes, an example system has been presented.
