This study is to derive the fourth-order Geomorphologic Instantaneous Unit Hydrograph (GIUH), driven for only third-order basin, for the application of GIUH to various types of basin. The second, third, and fourth order GIUHs were compared for various topographical conditions. The results showed lower peak runoff and later peak time in GIUH with higher stream order. Initial state probability was estimated from a function of geomorphologic parameters such as area ratio and bifurcation ratio for the application of GIUH. However, initial state probabilities and early parts of the GIUHs have negative values for many basins due to the inherent errors in the parameters. Initial state probability was calculated by area ratio of direct drainage using ArcView GIS 3.2 model to solve the problem. GIUHs were estimated for three basins, Sanganmi, Byeongcheon, and Sangye, using the above suggested method, and the results showed that the method is free of the problem.

Recently, the use of real-world image data has been increasing to express realistic virtual environments in various application fields such as education, manufacturing, and construction. In particular, with increasing interest in digital twins like smart cities, realistic 3D urban models are being built using real-world images, such as aerial images. However, the captured aerial image includes shadows from the sun, and the 3D city model including the shadows has a problem of distorting and expressing information to the user. Many studies have been conducted to remove the shadow, but it is recognized as a challenging problem that is still difficult to solve. In this paper, we construct a virtual environment dataset including the height map of buildings using 3D spatial information provided by VWorld, and We propose a new shadow detection method using height map and deep learning. According to the experimental results, We can observed that the shadow detection error rate is reduced when using the height map.

Recently the problem of global environment is became by social issue. Accordingly the interests to recycling and saving of resources are growing from daily life to varieties field of industry. To preserve the global environment, prevent global warming, environmental destruction, environmental pollution by wastes, the drain of aggregate, plasticity energy of cement and decrease in carbon dioxide are an urgent problem that must be resolved. So there is to a field of building industry and stands but on the inside of the building the many double meaning resources usefully, applies. Also the seller masterpiece building where the service life is long planned is safe and comfortably, maintenance, suppresses the construction which is not necessary is unnecessary. Also the seller masterpiece building where the service life is long planned is safe and comfortably, maintenance, suppresses the construction which is not necessary is unnecessary. By revitalizing effective use of limited earth resources, recycling and controling production of construction waste, this study introduced to a method for Long-Term Durability of Construction Structure and Effective Use of Technology for Construction Waste considering architectural demand and earth environment. It is for reduction of an earth environment load from the side of construction production and performance design of a structure.
Kansai International Airport (KIX) was opened in September 1994. Although 26 years have passed since the completion of the first island, long-term settlement is still in progress. This settlement occurs in the Pleistocene layer. For it is not easy to determine the permeability of the Pleistocene sand layer because the thickness and the degree of fine content in the horizontal direction are constantly changing. In addition, it is also a difficult to predict the interactive behavior of the ground due to the construction of the second phase island adjacent to it. In order to solve this problem, a two-dimensional finite element analysis considering elasto-viscoplastic was performed to evaluate the long-term deformation, including the interactive behavior of the alternating Pleistocene foundation due to the construction of two adjacent reclaimed islands. In general, two-dimensional analysis can be used when a section can represent the entire sections. However, Kansai Airport is an artificial reclaimed island so two-dimensional analysis cannot solve the problem such as the stress deformation in the corners of the island. Additionally, the structure of the actual sub-ground through physical exploration is non-homogeneity and its thickness is also not constant. Therefore, there are limitations for the two-dimensional analysis to explain the phenomena. That is, three-dimensional analysis is strongly required. Due to these demands, the author extended the existing two-dimensional program capable of elasto-viscoplastic analysis to three-dimensional and completed the verification of the three-dimensional program developed through one-dimensional consolidation analysis. In order to demonstrate the validity of the developed 3D program that has been verified, an analysis is performed under the same analysis conditions as the existing research using a two-dimensional program. The effectiveness of the developed 3D numerical analysis program was demonstrated by comparing the analysis results with the 2D results and actual measurement data.
In the current practice for slope stability problem in Japan, the shear strength, $\tau$, mobilized along the failure surface is usually estimated based on an empirical approximation in which the cohesion, c, is assumed to be equal to the soil thickness above the supposed slip surface, d(m). This approximation is advantageous in that the result of stability analysis is not influenced by the designers in charge. However, since the methodology has little theoretical background, the cohesion may often be grossly overestimated, and conversely the angle of shear resistance, $\phi$, is significantly underestimated, when the soil thickness above the supposed slip surface is quite large. In this paper, a case record of natural slope failure that took place in Hyogo Prefecture in 2007, is described in detail for the case in which the shear strength along the collapsed surface was carefully examined in a series of direct shear box (DSB) tests by considering the effects of in-situ shear stress along the slip surface. It is demonstrated that the factor of safety agrees with that of in-situ conditions when the shear strength from this kind of DSB test was employed for the back-analysis of the slope failure.

Transportation Economies of scale are the essential properties of hub networks. One critical property of the hub network design problem is to quantify cost savings which stem from economies of scale, the costs of operating hub facilities and opportunity costs associated with delays stemming from consolidation of traffic flows. Due to the NP-complete property of the hub location problem, however, most previous researchers have focused on the development of heuristic algorithms for approximate solutions. The purpose of this paper is to develop a hub network design model considering transportation economies of scale from the consolidation of traffic flows. The model is designed to consider the uniqueness of hub networks and to determine several cost components. The heuristic algorithms for the developed model are suggested and the results of the model are compared with recently published studies using real data. Results of the analysis show that the proposed model reflects transportation economies of scale due to consolidation of flows. This study can form not only the theoretical basis of an effective and rational hub network design but contribute to the assessment of existing and planned logistics systems.

Mobility data is important to understand social phenomena and problem. Previous studies have utilized Origin-Destination (OD) visualization methods to represent human's mobility. However, the effectiveness of visualization tools as a method for understanding social phenomena remains unexplored. Therefore, in this study, we developed a visualization tool called SeoulOD-Vis to facilitate understanding social issues. It included three different modules: map visualization, condition selection, and detailed information presentation. We recruited 28 participants to evaluate the SeoulOD-Vis and compared it with a publicly available visualization tool. The results suggested that the SeoulOD-Vis had higher usability and problem-solving performances. Interview results suggested that it attributed to its 'condition selection' and 'detailed information presentation' modules. Our results will contribute to develop visualization tools to solve social problems using mobility data.
The forming process of poverty region in Taegu and the feature of its spatial distribution which are reviewed hitherto can be summarized like this. 1) In the froming porcess of poverty region in Taegu, during the soverignty of Japanese Empire petty farmers became tenantry by the colonial agricultural policy of Japanes Empire and some of those came into the city and g\became urban poor class. They generally lived in poor houses or dugouts in the city, and 6.6$\circ$ of poor house and dugouts of the whole country were in Taegu and 4.9$\circ of the popolatio in Taegu resided there. During the period of disorder, because of the historic accidents, such as the restoration of independence and Korean War, the returnees from aboad and refugees converged into the big city so that those who need the country's relief stood out as new poor class. They generally made their dwellings with tents and straw-bags on vacant grounds in suburbs living form hand to mouth and shaped the poor houses area, so-clalled "Liberated Village". During the developing period, the number of those who need aid gradually decreased, but the problem of poor people by the city-concentration of the poeple who shifted from agricultrual jobs by economic development came to the front. They mostly lived in squatter area forming large poor class area, and generally located near the center of Taegu consisiting of West. South. East Ward. 2) Reviewing the the feature of spatial distribution, the proportion of poor class are highest within 1~2km from the center of the city and also high within 2~3km form the center and suburbs. The poor class area in the center of the city are mostly cleared and removed area and in suburbs by the construction of permanently leased, and leased apartments large grouped poor class areas are forming. In Taegu, 16 low-income class group residence areas and residential environement improving areas are dispersed so that they came under the so-called poor class area. But by the improvement of dewelling environment and living the poor people who lived in groups dispersed or bettered their living for themselves, so the poverty area is greatly chaning into average-levelled residence area, and on the other hand, large poor people's apartment complexes are being constructed in suburbs. 3) Up to now, the distribution of poverty area could be limited its scale to generally the area within 1~3km because the poverty region which had been in suburbs relatively came near the center of the city by the rapid urbanization and poor people preferred that area because of the living convenience facilities as well as the transportation facilities and job-hunting being near the center of the city. But now poor people's apartment complex is being constructed regardless of their zone of job sites, so the low proportion of occupation is pointed as a new problem.

The object of this study is to detect of land-cover change in western DMZ and vicinity. This was performed as a basic study to construct a decision support system for the conservation or a sustainable development of the DMZ and Vicinity near future. DMZ is an is 4km wide and 250km long and it's one of the most highly fortified boundaries in the world and also a unique thin green line. Environmentalists want to declare the DMZ as a natural reserve and a biodiversity zone, but nowadays through the strengthening of the inter-Korean economic cooperation, some developers are trying to construct a new-town or an industrial complex inside of the DMZ. This study investigates the current environmental conditions, especially deforestation of the western DMZ adopting remote sensing and GIS techniques. The Land-covers were identified through the linear spectvral mixture analysis(LSMA) which was used to handle the spectral mixture problem of low spatial resolution imagery of Landsat TM and ETM+ imagery. To analyze quantitative and spatial change of vegetation-cover in western DMZ, GIS overlay method was used. In LSMA, to develop high-quality fraction images, three endmembers of green vegetation(GV), soil, water were driven from pure features in the imagery. Through 15 years, from 1987 to 2002, forest of western DMZ and vicinity was devastated and changed to urban, farmland or barren land. Northern part of western DMZ and vicinity was more deforested than that of southern part. ($52.37km^2$ of North Korean forest and $39.04km^2$ of South Korean were change to other land-covers.) In case of North Korean part, forest changed to barren land and farmland and in South Korean part, forest changed to farmland and urban area. Especially, In North Korean part of DMZ and vicinity, $56.15km^2$ of farmland changed to barren land through 15 years, which showed the failure of the 'Darakbat' (terrace filed) project which is one of food increase projects in North Korea.

Smart City is urban development for complex problem solving that provides convenience and safety for citizens, and it is a blueprint for future cities. In 2008, the Korean government defined the construction, management, and government support of U-Cities in the legislation, Act on the Construction, Etc. of Ubiquitous Cities (Ubiquitous City Act), which included definitions of terms used in the act. In addition, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has established a "ubiquitous city master plan" considering this legislation. The concept of U-Cities is complex, due to the mix of informatization and urban planning. Because of this complexity, the foundation of relevant regulations is inadequate, which is impeding the establishment and implementation of practical plans. Smart City intelligent service facilities are not easy to define and classify, because technology is rapidly changing and includes various devices for gathering and expressing information. The purpose of this study is to complement the legal definition of the intelligent service facility, which is necessary for integrated management and operation. The related laws and regulations on U-City were analyzed using text-mining techniques to identify insufficient legal definitions of intelligent service facilities. Using data gathered from interviews with officials responsible for constructing U-Cities, this study identified problems generated by implementing intelligent service facilities at the field level. This strategy should contribute to improved efficiency management, the foundation for building integrated utilization between departments. Efficiencies include providing a clear concept for establishing five-year renewable plans for U-Cities.
