Basauxia and Ashtaangam of Hyphorrycetes from Southeast Asia.

  • Two interesting new hyphomycetes collected on rachis of an unidentified palm (Palmao) from Malayasia are described and their taxonomy is discussed in this paper. One of them is unique in producing basauxic conidiophores from conidiophore mother cells that are sessile, simple, cylindrical or cupulate, and solitary, gangliar, acrogenous, dry phragmoconidia. It is classified in a new genus Basauxia, as a new species, B. pulchra. The other hyphomycete is also unique in producing characteristic solitary, eight-celled, eight-armed gangliar conidia on simple conidiophores. A new genus, Ashtaangam is proposed for it in which it is placed as a new species, A. sundaram.

  • This paper aimed to suggest a new model of fusion furniture design which fits with our surroundings of today. This was performed by grasp and evaluation of recent trend of fusion culture in Korea in order to apply it to the furniture design of fusion style. Fusion furniture design was tried and applied to the table showing unique characteristics of Korea traditional small dining table with modern touch. The result of this paper could also contribute to distribute the unique characteristics and beauty of Korean traditional furniture in the World.

  • Polyvalent nanoparticle-DNA conjugates exhibit a variety of unique features such as programmable assembly and disassembly, sharp melting transitons, intense optical properties, high stability, enhanced binding properties, and easy fabrication of the surface nature by chemical and physical modification. The unique properties of nanoparticle-DNA conjugates enable one to build up a number of versatile assay schemes for the detection of various targets. In addition, nanoparticle-RNA conjugates also demonstrate great promise of therapeutic applications in the context of RNA interference when combined with polymeric materials. In this presentation, representative examples of each aspect of nanoparticle-oligonucleotide conjugates will be discussed.

  • We show that if an even length filter has the same length complementary filter in a generalized linear phase case, the complementary filter is unique, we find sufficient conditions for a unique existence of even length N complementary filter in a quadrature mirror filter bank, and we find all higher degree symmetric filters of length N + 4m which are complementary to a given symmetric filter of even length N.

It is obtained the sugficient condition for the existence of a unique invariant probability to which $P^{(n}$/(x,dy) converges exponentially fast in a metric stronger than the Kolmogorov's distance.   • This talk discusses conditions on the numerical range of a holomorphic function defined on a bounded convex domain in a complex Banach space that imply that the function has a unique fixed point. In particular, extensions of the Earle-Hamilton Theorem are given for such domains. The theorems are applied to obtain a quantitative version of the inverse function theorem for holomorphic functions and a distortion form of Cartan's unique-ness theorem.

  • The vector wave equation is widely used in electromagnetic wave analysis. This paper solves the vector wave equation using curl-conforming finite elements. The variational problem is established from Riesz functional based on vector wave equation and the unique existence of weak solution is explored. The edge elements are used in computation and the simulation results are compared with those obtained from a commercial simulator, ANSYS HFSS (high-frequency structure simulator).

  • Let A ⊆ B be an extension of integral domains with characteristic zero. Let H(A, B) and h(A, B) be rings of composite Hurwitz series and composite Hurwitz polynomials, respectively. We simply call H(A, B) and h(A, B) composite Hurwitz rings of A and B. In this paper, we study when H(A, B) and h(A, B) are unique factorization domains (resp., GCD-domains, finite factorization domains, bounded factorization domains).
