유비쿼터스 로봇과 휴먼 인터액션을 위한 제스쳐 추출 (Gesture Extraction for Ubiquitous Robot-Human Interaction)

  • This paper discusses a skeleton feature extraction method for ubiquitous robot system. The skeleton features are used to analyze human motion and pose estimation. In different conventional feature extraction environment, the ubiquitous robot system requires more robust feature extraction method because it has internal vibration and low image quality. The new hybrid silhouette extraction method and adaptive skeleton model are proposed to overcome this constrained environment. The skin color is used to extract more sophisticated feature points. Finally, the experimental results show the superiority of the proposed method.

  • This paper aims to analyze characteristics of Network administration and its security and study a method of applying new Ubiquitous technology which can raise up the stability and efficiency of remote control systems in unmanned power plants so that the states of systems are recognized by unrestricted and diverse access in the ubiquitous circumstance and services wanted are supplied for anyone to access to them anytime and anywhere.

  • This paper presents Kalman filter based system modeling algorithm for autonomous robot systems. State of the robot system is measured using embedded sensor systems and then carried to a host computer via ubiquitous sensor network (USN). We settle a linear state-space motion equation for unknown robot system dynamics and modify a popular Kalman filter algorithm in deriving suitable parameter estimation mechanism. To represent time-delay nature due to network media in system modeling, we construct an augmented state-space model which is mainly composed of original state and estimated parameter vectors. We conduct real-time experiment to test our proposed estimation algorithm where speed state of the constructed robot is used as system observation.

  • In terms of water meter reading, the majority of 16 million houses use mechanical water meter in korea. So, a member of the utility's staff needs to access periodically the water meter and the value of the metered volume. However, due to the use of mechanical water meter, many issues have been appeared as cost, time, errors, accessibility, and readability. To settle these issues, we developed the walk-by meter reading system of digital water meter and outside indicator based on ubiquitous. And we could get the characteristics and the economical efficiency for water meter reading system. Thus, this study shows that the system can be widely used to the block system and the meter reading system for stable water supply.

  • It is very important, if necessary, to remotely monitor and control the body conditions and behavior of livestock as well as the environment of stall using ubiquitous ict, in order to improve the health and productivity of livestock. With the aim of developing a stall management system, this study investigated users' needs, analyzed them to design systems, developed a web-system and an app for stall management, then applied them to a test-bed. The use of the app developed will make it easy for livestock farmers to easily monitor and control environment of stall using their smartphones and allow them to take care of stall more efficiently.

USN 노드의 소비전력 절감을 위한 경로설정 기법 (A Routing Scheme for Reducing the Power Consumption of USN Nodes)

  • The ubiquitous computing system is expected to be widely utilized in digital home, logistics control, environment/disaster management, medical/health-care services and other applications. The ubiquitous sensor network (USN) is a key infra-structure of this system. Nodes in the USN are exposed to adverse environments and required to perform their missions with very limited power supply only. Also the sensor network is composed of much more nodes. In case some node consumes up its power capacity under a certain required level, the network topology should change and re-routing/ re-transmission of data is necessitated. Resultantly communication protocols studied for conventional wireless networks or ad-hoc networks are not suitable for the sensor network. Schemes should be devised to control the efficient usage of node power in the sensor network. This paper proposes a routing algorithm to enhance the efficiency of power consumption for USN node and analyzes its performance by simulation.

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트폰 기반의 차량 원격제어 시스템을 제안한다. 스마트폰에는 G센서가 탑재되어 모션을 제어하는데 사용되고 있으며, G센서는 X, Y, Z축으로 되어 있어 여러 방향과 속도의 동작들을 제어할 수 있으며, G센서는 Wi-Fi통신과 블루투스 모듈의 RS232통신 방식을 이용하여 여러 분야의 모바일 단말기에 응용 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 모바일 단말기에서 G센서 장착된 휴대용 단말기 iPhone을 사용하여 영상으로 차량원격제어시스템을 구현 및 개발하여 운전자들이 휴대용 단말기에서 실시간 영상으로 좀 더 편하게 차량을 원격제어, 관리할 수 있는 어플리케이션을 제안한다.

유비쿼터스 투약 감시를 위한 스마트 투약 팩 (A Smart Drug/Medicine Pack for u-Medication Monitoring)

  • As a pervasive healthcare application to help medication of elderly patients, the smart compliance monitors have been recently proposed. In this paper, we present a new smart drug/medicine pack (SDP) for ubiquitous medication monitoring, for which the packaging is either paper packet or blister pack. This ubiquitous compliance monitor is composed of several SDPs and a Bluetooth equipped PDA phone. The SDP is a wireless module that monitors the medication consumption unobtrusively by transmitting the sensed data of 'drug removal' events to the medical center and by reminding patients when they take a dose on their mobile phone. The communication between SDP modules and PDA is realized via Bluetooth. The PDA is basically embedded to indicate the medication record and to alert every prescribed medication time during treatment. Experimental results show that the proposed system works exactly when the SDPs are far within about 2 [m] from PDA.

  • 본 논문은 온실하우스 시설내의 지하수 오염방지를 위한 유비쿼터스를 이용한 펌핑 시스템의 원격제어기 개발에 있다. 본 연구에서는 수막재배에서 펌프 살수에 대한 온도와 습도를 자동으로 제어한다. 이는 지하수의 무분별한 개발을 방지하고, 또한, 물 부족인 폐공의 경우 보완조치를 못하여 환경오염의 피해가 발생하는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 연구 결과, 최적의 농작물 관리와 펌프 제어를 통해 무분별한 지하수 사용과 고갈을 막고 전기료 절감 등의 장점을 확인하였다.
