Simulation of Plate Deformation by Triangle Heating Process (삼각가열에 의한 판 변형의 시뮬레이션)

  • Plate bending process is indispensible in shipbuilding. The process includes press bending process and heating process. Especially the heating process is carried out exclusively by skillful workers. Many researches have been made to automate the heating process. This study was carried out as a fundamental study to develop a efficient analysis method for triangle heating and focused on clarifying the deformation characteristics of plate by triangle heating and essential elements effect on the deformation. In this paper, we proposed an analysis model for thermal-elastic-plastic analysis and simulated the deformation by triangle heating using ANSYS based on the experimental results of Jang et al.(2001). Also, we showed the deformation characteristics more clearly by comparing the deformation due to triangle heating and line heating in case that the total heat input is same. Finally, we investigated the change characteristics of deformation elements according to the volumetric heat input.

  • In this paper we study Gergonne's point and its adjoint points of triangle using the principle of the lever. We prove existence of Gergonne's point and its adjoint points, suggest new proof method of a equality related with Gergonne's point. We find new equalities related with adjoint points of Gergonne's points, and prove these using the principle of the lever.

A Study on the World Geodetic System Transformation Using Triangle Mesh Warping (삼각형 와핑에 의한 세계측지계 좌표변환 방법 연구)

  • The Triangle Mesh Warping method is suggested and applied in coordinate transformation to world geodetic system in this study. The common points of Uiwang city are used to compare the transformation accuracy of the suggested methods with existing national coordinate transformation methods. As a result, the Triangle Mesh Warping method was satisfied with accuracy criteria for positioning on a map larger than scale 1/1,000 with smaller number of common points and without distortion modeling. Additionally, in case of Guri and Pyeongtaek city that established the World Geodetic System, the suggested method generates the result of transformation accuracy better than 5cm. Based on the test, it was found that the suggested method improves the problem of securing many common points and reduces the problem of mis-match between the transformed data of adjacent areas. Accordingly, for transformation of large-scale topographic map, cadastral map, GIS DB and serial cadastral map to the World Geodetic System, it is judged that the Triangle Mesh Warping would be a good method for economical efficiency and accuracy using by minimum common point.

  • In this paper we study construction methods of $n^{th}$ line in triangle. Russian Mathematician Zetel suggested some construction methods of $n^{th}$ line in triangle 80 years ago. We find Zetel's papers, in detail explain the Zetel's construction methods, and suggest two elementary construction methods. Our results are received in the process of Research and Education program in science high school.

Study on Extraction of the Center Point of Steam Generator Tubes (증기발생기 세관의 중심좌표추출에 대한 연구)

  • This paper describes extraction procedure for the center coordinates of steam generator tubes of Youngkwang NPP #6, which are arrayed in triangular patterns. Steam generator tube images taken with wide field-of-view lens and low-light lamp mounted on a ccd camera tend to have low contrast, because steam generator is sealed and poorly illuminated. The extraction procedures consists of two steps. The first step is to process the region with superior contrast in entire image of steam generator tubes and to extract the center points. Using the extracted coordinates in the first step and the geometrical array characteristics of tubes lined up in regular triangle forms, the central points of the rest region with low contrast are estimated. The straight lines from center point of a tube to neighbour points in horizontal and 60, 120$^{\circ}$ degree directions are derived. The intersections of straight line In horizontal direction and slant line in regular triangle direction are selected as the center coordinates of steam generator tubes. The Chi-square interpolation method is used to determine the line's coefficients in horizontal and regular triangle direction.

  • Image warping is a technology to transform input images to be suitable for given conditions and has been recently utilized in changing face shape of characters in the field of movies or animation. Mesh warping which is one of warping methods that change shapes based on the features of face forms warping images by forming rectangular mesh groups around the eyes, nose, and mouth and matching them 1:1. This method has a problem in the resultant images are distorted in the segments of boundaries between meshes when there are errors in mesh control points or when meshes have been formed as many small area meshes. This study proposes a triangle based image interpolation technique to minimize the occurrence of errors in the process of forming natural warping images of face and process accurate results with a small amount of arithmetic operation and a short time. First, feature points that represent the face are found and these points are connected to form basic triangle meshes. The fact that the proposed method can reduce errors occurring in the process of warping while reducing the amount of arithmetic operation and time is shown through experiments.

  • Geometrical figures have been used as artwork motifs from the ancient times to the present day. The area of fashion, being a part of modern art, is also largely influenced by geometry and geometrical shapes are being used as a motif for fashion design now more than ever before. However, studies about geometry in the fashion field are not yet done enough and further research is necessary. This research will therefore investigate the usages of round, square and triangular design in contemporary fashion. The main scope of this research is to look at the type of expression and analyze the intrinsic meanings of these shapes in modern fashion. This research will look profoundly into the general characteristics of these geometrical figures and analyze the effects and uniqueness found in the world collection introduced since 2007. As a result from this study, it was found that round and square objects were perceived in such a straightforward and positive way and these designs, when worn, really completed the final look. On the other hand, the triangular design was used mainly for spatial expansion and was interpreted in a more metaphorical, indirect and abstract way. The intrinsic meaning of round, square and triangle figures in contemporary fashion consists of the informal features that really steps out of the formative clothing structure. The topological changes that is formed from the interactive functions and the wholism that creates a new system through integration of the human body and clothing contains the intrinsic meaning of these geometrical figures. Based on the research results, the method of expression and the characteristics of modern day fashion's geometrical figures was able to be easily understood. This work provides the useful information on the development of fashion design and the extended interpretation of clothing structure.

Periodontal Repair on Intrabony Defects treated with BBP(R) (BBP(R)가 치주 골내낭 치유에 미치는 영향)

  • The ultimate goal of periodontal disease therapy is to promote the regeneration of lost periodontal tissue, there have been many attempts to develop a method to achieve this goal, but none of them was completely successful. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of treatment using BBP(R) with control treated by only modified Widman flap. 22 intrabony defects from 12 patients with chronic periodontitis were used for this study, 10 sites of them were treated with BBP(R) as experimental group and 12 site were treated by only modified Widman flap as control group. Clinical parameters including probing depth, gingival recession, bone probing depth and loss of attachment were recorded at 6 months later, and the significance of the changes was statistically analyzed. The results are as follows : 1. Probing depth of control(${\triangle}2.7{\pm}1.3mm$) and experimental group(${\triangle}3.6{\pm}1.8mm$) weres reduced with statistically significance(P<0.05), but this changes were not different between the two experiment, control group with statistically significance. 2. Gingival recession showed statistically significant increase in control group(${\triangle}2.1{\pm}1.2mm$)(P<0.05), but not in experimental group(${\triangle}0.5{\pm}0.7mm$), and this changes were different between the two experiment, control group with statistically significance(P<0.05). 3. Bone probing depth showed statistically significant decrease in experimental group(${\triangle}2.9{\pm}1.0mm$)(P<0.05), but not in control group(${\triangle}1.1{\pm}1.4mm$), and this changes were different between the two experiment, control group with statistically significance(P<0.05). 4. Loss of attachment showed statistically significant decrease in experimental group(${\triangle}3.1{\pm}1.7mm$), but not in control group(${\triangle}0.6{\pm}1.2mm$), and this changes were different between the two experiment, control group with statistically significance(P<0.05) On the basis of these results, treatment using BBP(R) improves the probing depth, bone probing depth and loss of attachment in intrabony defects.

A Study on the Reliability of Failure Diagnosis Methods of Oil Filled Transformer using Actual Dissolved Gas Concentration (유중가스농도를 이용한 유입식 변압기 고장진단 기법의 신뢰성에 관한 연구)

  • Large Power transformer is a complex and critical component of power plant and consists of cellulosic paper, insulation oil, core, coil etc. Insulation materials of transformer and related equipment break down to liberate dissolved gas due to corona, partial discharge, pyrolysis or thermal decomposition. The dissolved gas kinds can be related to the type of electrical faults, and the rate of gas generation can indicate the severity of the fault. The identities of gases being generated are using very useful to decide the condition of transformation status. Therefore dissolved gas analysis is one of the best condition monitoring methods for power transformer. Also, on-line multi-gas analyzer has been developed and installed to monitor the condition of critical transformers. Rogers method, IEC method, key gas method and Duval Triangle method are used to failure diagnosis typically, and those methods are using the ratio or kinds of dissolved gas to evaluate the condition of transformer. This paper analyzes the reliability of transformer diagnostic methods considering actual dissolved gas concentration. Fault diagnosis is performed based on the dissolved gas of five transformers which experienced various fault respectively in the field, and the diagnosis result is compared with the actual off-line fault analysis. In this comparison result, Diagnostic methods using dissolved gas ratio like Rogers method, IEC method are sometimes fall outside the ratio code and no diagnosis but Duval triangle method and Key gas method is correct comparatively.
