  • Sensor Networks (WSNs) can be defined as a self-configured and infrastructure-less wireless networks to monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, vibration, pressure, motion or pollutants and to cooperatively pass their data through the network to a main location or base-station where the data can be observed and analyzed. Typically a wireless sensor network contains hundreds of thousands of sensor nodes. The sensor nodes can communicate among themselves using radio signals. A wireless sensor node is equipped with sensing and computing devices, radio transceivers and power components. The individual nodes in a wireless sensor network (WSN) are inherently resource constrained: they have limited processing speed, storage capacity, communication bandwidth and limited-battery power. At present time, most of the research on WSNs has concentrated on the design of energy- and computationally efficient algorithms and protocols In order to extend the network life-time, in this paper we are looking into a routing protocol, especially LEACH and LEACH-related protocol. LEACH protocol is a representative routing protocol and improves overall network energy efficiency by allowing all nodes to be selected to the cluster head evenly once in a periodic manner. In LEACH, in case of movement of sensor nodes, there is a problem that the data transmission success rate decreases. In order to overcome LEACH's nodes movements, LEACH-Mobile protocol had proposed. But energy consumption increased because it consumes more energy to recognize which nodes moves and re-transfer data. In this paper we propose the new routing protocol considering nodes' mobility. In order to simulate the proposed protocol, we make a scenario, nodes' movements randomly and compared with the LEACH-Mobile protocol.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient method of transmitting data according to size using the Zigbee and Wifi in a wireless sensor network. In existing wireless sensor network using Zigbee and Wifi, Zigbee transmits text and Wifi transmits image and video. Existing research methods in this way is caused a problem that the transmission by selecting a transmission method according to data type. In the case of aggregated data, Zigbee is less efficient than Wifi in some case because of limitation of zigbee's transmission rate, even if data type is text. In this paper, we propose a method for selecting a transmission method by considering the size of the data and transfer efficiency not by data type. It was obtained results that appear to be convenient, according to the linkage algorithm structure of the image and sensing data by selecting a transmission method from data size, not the type of the given data.

  • In these days, such services are popularized as E-commerce, E- government, multimedia services, and home networking applications. Most web traffics generated contemporarily basically use the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol(HTTP). Unfortunately, the HTTP is improper for these applications that comprise significant components of the web traffics. In this paper, we introduce a real-time contents compression architecture that maximizes the web service performance as well as reduces the response time. This architecture is built into the linux kernel-based web accelerating module. It guarantees not only the freshness of compressed contents but also the minimum time delay using an server-state adaptive algorithm, which can determine whether the server sends the compressed message considering the consumption of sewer resources when heavy requests reach the web server. Also, We minimize the CPU overhead of the web server by exclusively implementing the compression kernel-thread. The testing results validates that this architecture saves the bandwidth of the web server and that elapsed time improvement is dramatic.

  • By the help of expansion of computer network and rapid growth of Internet, the information infrastructure is now able to provide a wide range of services. Especially open architecture - the inherent nature of Internet - has not only got in the way of offering QoS service, managing networks, but also made the users vulnerable to both the threat of backing and the issue of information leak. Thus, people recognized the importance of both taking active, prompt and real-time action against intrusion threat, and at the same time, analyzing the similar patterns of in-trusion already known. There are now many researches underway on Intrusion Detection System(IDS). The paper carries research on the in-trusion detection system which hired supervised learning algorithm and Fuzzy membership function especially with Neuro-Fuzzy model in order to improve its performance. It modifies tansigmoid transfer function of Neural Networks into fuzzy membership function, so that it can reduce the uncertainty of anomaly intrusion detection. Finally, the fuzzy logic suggested here has been applied to a network-based anomaly intrusion detection system, tested against intrusion data offered by DARPA 2000 Intrusion Data Sets, and proven that it overcomes the shortcomings that Anomaly Intrusion Detection usually has.

  • Grouting works in fractured rocks have been performed to reinforce the underground and/or to block ground water flow at the foundation site of dam, bridge and so on. For the efficient grouting design, a prior knowledge of the fracture pattern of underground area to be grouted in very important. For the practical use, aperture sizes of open fractures that will be filled up with grouting materials will be kind of valuable information. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to develop a new technique (so called "GenFT") enable to form a three dimensional image of fracture aperture density distribution from Televiewer data. For this, the study is to focus on dealing with (1) estimating aperture size of each fracture automatically from Televiewer time image, (2) mapping extension of fracture planes on a given section, (3) evaluating aperture density distribution on the section by using both aperture size and fracture face mapping result of each fracture, (4) developing an algorithm that can transfer the previous results to any arbitrary(vertical and/or horizontal) section around the borehole. Since 3D imaging means "a strategy used to form an image of arbitrarily subdivided 2D sections with aperture density distribution", it will help avoid ambiguities of fracture pattern interpretation and hence will be of practical use not only for the design and assessment of grouting works but also for various engineering works. Examples of fields experiments are illustrated. It would seem that this technique might lead to reflecting future trend in underground survey.

  • This paper presents application results of the augmented matrix eigen-sensitivity theories to TCSC siting problem for damping the inter-area low frequency oscillation in the large KEPCO system. First and second-order eigen-sensitivities of the inter-area low frequency oscillation in the large KEPCO system. First and second-order eigen-sensitivities of the inter-area mode are computed fro changes in susceptance of the transmission lines. The lines having high sensitivity are chosen as the initial candidates for installing TCSC. Then for each of the chosen candidates, Bodeplot of the transfer function with line susceptance as the input and the bus voltage at one side of the line as the output is computed. Using the Bode plots, the lines having any zeros near the inter-area mode are screened out since design of TCSC controller is very difficult in such a case. The $H_{\infty}$ TCSC controller installed at any finally chosen candidate is found to be effective in damping the inter-area oscillation, and the proposed TCSC siting algorithm is proved to be valid. Design of $H_{\infty}$ controller is described in Part IIof this paper.

  • We fabricated optical sensor system that take a measurement particles using a line-CCD in ocean. To measure particles, we used 680nm laser diode which is appropriate. we tested to operate optical system in water tank and ocean. It has performance that detected signal of sensors transfer microprocessor, FPGA as long as move up and down it's motion. The system algorithm also analysis output -pressure, temperature, particle numbers in depth.-For experiment, our particle sensor system has high accuracy counter. therefore, we proposed that a line-CCD is available on optical sensor system in ocean.

  • Recently the adaptive control system, which keeps the control system always optimal by adjusting the control parameters automatically according to the variations of the plant parameters, have become very important in the field of control engineering. The adaptive control systems are usally composed of the plant identification, the decision of the optimal control parameters, and the adjustment of the control parameters. This paper deals with a method of the adaptive control system when PI or PID controller is used in the feed back control system. Its controlled object (the plant) is assumed to be described by the transfer function of $\frac{ke^{-LS}}{1+TS}$ where k, T and L are steady state gain, time constant and pure dead time respectively, and their values are variable in accordance with the change of environmental circumstance. It has been known that a pseudo-random binary signal is quite effective for the measurement of an impulse response of a plant. In adaptive control systems, however, the impulse response itself is not appropriate to determine the control parameters. In this paper, the authors propose a method to estimate directly the parameters of the plant k, T and L by means of the correlation technique using 3 level M-sequence signal as a test signal. The authors also propose a method to determine the optimal parameters of the PI or PID controller in the sense of minimizing the square integral of the control error in the feed back control system, and the values of the optimal parameters are computed numerically for various values of T and L, and the results are examined and compared with those of the conventional methods. Finally the above-mentioned two methods are combined and an algorithm to struct an adaptive control system is suggested. The experiments for the indicial responses by means of both the model of the temperature control system using SCR actuater and the analog simulations have shown good results as expected, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified. The M-sequence generator and the time delay circuit, which are manufactured for the experiments, are operated in quite a good condition.

  • The WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network) technology is a short distance wireless network which provides each device's interactive communication by connecting devices inside and outside of body located within 3 meters. Standardization on the physical layer, data link layer, network layer and application layer is in progress by IEEE 802.15.6 TG BAN. The The WBAN servides consists of both medical and non-medical applications. The medical application service uses the sensor that transfer the periodic traffic and have different data rates. It uses GTS method to guarantee QoS. In this paper, a new method is proposed, which are suitable design for MAC Protocol. Firstly, MAC frame structure and a primitive based on the WBAN are proposed. Secondly, we proposed the GTS algorithm improved the channel utilization based on the WFQ(Weighted Fair Queuing). The proposed scheduling method is improved channel utilization compared with i-Game(Round Robin scheduling method).

  • Digital Contents have been considered as major parts in the areas, such as design, cartoon, video and etc. A number of Digital Contents are made with the works of popular computer program, Photoshop, and used in some courses of making works. Channel is obviously regarded as a high-level function among others in using Photoshop, even though it hinder a lot of users in understanding the way and the principle to use. Channel and Displacement Map have something in common, because they share the infoshade of channel. The infoshade is the information of 256 levels which consists of black and achromatic colors between white and black color. The infoshade of Channel is used as a concept of movement in Displacement Map. Displacement Map analyzes infoshade in 'Displacement map images' and transfer the pixels of original images under the application of displacement map. This means that the infoshade of Channel can be made for the application with characteristic of movement. This study was carried out to analyze the principle of application of infoshade in 'Displacement Map' with Photoshop. Thus, the central aim of this study is not so much studying engineering algorithm as studying and analyzing the principle of Channel's infoshade through studying how the infoshade of channel is applied in the work.
