Linear proportional-integral (PI) controllers are an attractive choice for controlling the speed of induction machines because of their simplicity and ease of implementation. Fractional-order PI (FO-PI) controllers, however, perform better than PI controllers because of their nonlinear nature and the underlying iso-damping property of fractional-order operators. In this work, an FO-PI controller based on the proposed first-order plus dead-time induction motor model and integer-order (IO) controllers, such as Ziegler-Nichols PI, Cohen-Coon PI, and a PI controller tuned via trial-and-error method, is designed. Simulation and experimental investigation on an indirect field-oriented induction motor drive system proves that the proposed FO-PI controller has better speed tracking, lesser settling time, better disturbance rejection, and lower speed tracking error compared with linear IO-PI controllers. Our experimental study also validates that the FO-PI controller maximizes the torque per ampere output of the induction machine and can effectively control the motor at low speed, in field-weakening regions, and under detuned conditions.
This paper presents Hybrid PI controller of IPMSM drive using fuzzy adaptive mechanism(FAM) control. To increase the robustness, fixed gam PI controller, Hybrid PI controller proposes a new method based self tuning PI controller. Hybrid PI controller is developed to minimize overshoot and settling time following sudden parameter changes such as speed, load torque, inertia, rotor resistance and self inductance. The results on a speed controller of IPMSM are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed gain tuner. And this controller is better than the fixed gains one in terms of robustness, even under great variations of operating conditions and load disturbance.
In this paper, the selection of a reliable accelerated life test code for a 2-ton forklift was accomplished by choosing the driving resistance coefficient failure-free test time based on a 10,000-hour B10 life. The overall life and average equivalent load of the vehicle were then calculated based on actual driving test conditions using the selected driving resistance coefficient. The gear train's accelerated life test code was selected by adjusting the equivalent load to a torque and rotation speed that did not exceed 125%(about 75HP) of the vehicle rated power. The safety of the test standards was validated by conducting an actual accelerated life test utilizing the proposed test method in this study and comparing the test result with the corresponding theoretical value. It is anticipated that the reliability of the accelerated life test in this paper will be enhanced, by incorporating actual driving performance data collected directly from the forklift and adjusting the conditions used in developing the accelerated life test code.
This paper proposes a novel airfoil named "KA2" for the blade of the wind turbine systems. Dynamic loads characteristics are analyzed and compared using aerodynamic data of ten airfoils including the proposed airfoil. The blade is divided into the sixteen elements in the longitudinal direction of the blade for applying the Blade Element Method Theory (BEMT) method, and in each element, torque, thrust, and pitching moment are calculated using turbulent time varying wind speed and aerodynamic data of each wing. Additionally, each force and torque is accumulated in the whole region of the blade for the estimation of representative values. The magnitude of such forces is comparatively analyzed for different airfoils. The angle of attack is constant below the rated wind speed due to the fact that the tip speed ratio is kept at the constant value, and it increases in the region of over rated wind speed as the tip speed ratio decreasing with constant rated rpm and increasing wind speed. Such increase in the angle of attack causes the changes of the force acting on the airfoil with different characteristics of lift and drag in the stall region of each different airfoil. Even though the mean wind speed is in the rated speed in a given time, because of the turbulence, it has either the over rated or under rated speed most of the time. Furthermore, the dynamic properties of each force are analyzed in this rated wind speed in order to objectively understand the dynamic properties of the blades which are designed based on the different airfoils. These dynamic properties are also compared by the standard deviation of time varying characteristics. Moreover, the output characteristics of the wind turbine are investigated with different airfoils and wind speeds. Based on these investigations, it was revealed that the proposed airfoil (KA2) is well applicable to the blade with passive pitch control system.
The ram assembly is important equipment in fueling machine of PHWR(Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor) plant where fuel replacement is possible while the plant is in service. Troubles in the ram assembly can cause lots of difficulties in power plant operation. The ram assembly is typically composed of the B-ram, the L-Ram and the C-Ram. The B-ram is focused in this paper because it plays the most important role in the ram assembly. Among the ram fault phenomena, ram stuck phenomena are the most frequent cases in the B-ram, which has a ball screw mechanism driven by a hydraulic motor. Ram stuck phenomena are due to ball wear and damage in ball nut that increase in proportion to the number of fuel replacement. It is required to predict ram stuck phenomena before they occur. In this paper, a method is proposed for predicting ram stuck phenomena using a discrete wavelet transform. The discrete wavelet transform provides information on both the time and frequency characteristics of the input signals. The proposed method uses the frequency bandwidths of coefficients of discrete wavelet decompositions and detail coefficients of discrete wavelet transform to predict ram stuck phenomena. The signal used in this paper is a torque-related signal such as a hydraulic service outlet pressure signal in a hydraulic driving system or a current signal in a DC motor driving system. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is shown via experiment using ball nut characteristic test equipment that simulates ram stuck phenomena due to increased ball friction in ball nut.

State of problem : A number of investigation about increase of surface area via various surface treatments and modification of surface constituent have been carried out. Purpose : The surface characteristics and stability of implants treated with anodic oxidation, fluoride ion incorporation, and groups treated with both methods were evaluated. Material and method : Specimens were divided into six groups, group 1 was the control group with machined surface implants, groups 2 and 3 were anodic oxidized implants (group 2 was treated with 1M $H_2SO_4$ and 185V, group 3 was treated with 0.25M $H_2SO_4$ and $H_3PO_4$ and 300V). Groups 4, 5 and 6 were treated with fluoride. Group 4 was machined implants treated with 0.1% HF, and groups 5 and 6 were groups 2 and 3 treated with 10% NaF respectively. Using variable methods, implant surface characteristics were observed, and the implant stability was evaluated on rabbit tibia at 0, 4, 8 and 12 weeks. Result : 1. In comparison of the surface characteristics of anodic oxidized groups, group 2 displayed delicate and uniform oxidation layer with small pore size containing Ti, C, O and showed mainly rutile, but group 3 displayed large pore size and irregular oxidation layer with many crators. 2. In comparison of the surface characteristics of fluoride treated groups 4, 5, 6 and non-fluoride treated groups 1, 2, 3, the configurations were similar but the fluoride treated groups displayed rougher surfaces and composition analysis revealed fluoride in groups 4, 5, 6. 3. The fluoride incorporated anodic oxidized groups showed the highest resonance frequency values and removal torque values, and the values decreased in the order of anodic oxidized groups, fluoride treated group, control group. 4. According to implant stability tests, group 2 and 3 showed significantly higher values than the control group (P<.05). The fluoride treated groups showed relatively higher values than the non fluoride treated groups and there were significant difference between group 4 and group 1 (P<.05). Conclusion : From the results above, it can be considered that the anodic oxidation method is an effective method to increase initial bone stability and osseointegration and fluoride containing implant surfaces enhance new bone formation. Implants containing both of these methods should increase osseointegration, and reduce the healing period.

Since the average speed calculated with encoder pulses inevitably has time delay, the control performance as well as the system stability is deteriorated. especially at the low speed region. Additionally, the distorted inverter output voltage due to the dead time effects and the forward voltage drops of the VSI (Voltage Source Inverter) causes torque ripples and their effects are more severe at the low speed operation of an induction motor. In this paper, an accurate speed estimation method using Kalman Filter Algorithm is presented to improve the performance of an induction motor speed control with a low precision encoder at low speed legion. The dead time effects and the forward voltage drops of the VSI are feedforwardly compensated to produce an exact inverter output voltage.

Since 2016 when the regulations related to vehicle structure and device modification were drastically revised, the car tuning market has been growing rapidly. Particularly, many drivers are showing interest in changing the interior and exterior according to their preference, or improving the specifications of their cars by changing the engine and powertrain, among others. Also, as the initial engine settings such as horse power and torque of the vehicle are made for stable driving of the vehicle, it is possible to change the engine performance, via Engine Control Unit (ECU) mapping, to the driver's preference. However, traditionally, ECU mapping could be only performed by professional car engineers and the settings were also decided by them. Therefore, this study proposed a system that collects data related to the driver's driving habits for a certain period and sends them to a cloud server in order to analyze them and recommend ECU mapping values. The traditional mapping method only aimed to improve the car's performance and, therefore, if the changes were not compatible with the driver's driving habits, could cause problems such as incomplete combustion or low fuel efficiency. However, the proposed system allows drivers to set legally permitted ECU mapping based on analysis of their driving habits, and, therefore, different drivers can set it differently according to the vehicle specifications and driving habits. As a result, the system can optimize the car performance by improving output, fuel efficiency, etc. within the range that is legally permitted.

Electro-mechanical actuator installed on aircraft consists of a decelerator which magnifies the torque in order to rotate an axis connected with aircraft control surface, a control section which controls the motor assembly through receiving orders from cockpit and a motor assembly which rotates the decelerator. Electro-mechanical actuator controls aircraft altitude, position, landing, takeoff, etc. It is an important part of a aircraft. Aircraft maneuvering causes vibrations to electro-mechanical actuator. Vibrations may result in structural fatigue. For that reason, it is necessary to analyze the system structural safety. In order to analyze the system structural safety. It is needed reasonable finite element model and structural response stress closed to real value. In this paper, analytic model is derived by using the simplified finite element model, and damping ratio which is closely related to response stress is derived by using modal test. So, we developed analytic model in less than 10 % error rate, compared with modal test. Vibration response stress close to real value was estimated from analytic model modified with modal experimental damping ratio. Estimation method for damping ratio with empirical formula was suggested partly. Finally, It was proved that electro-mechanical actuator had reasonable structure margin of safety at environmental random $3{\sigma}$ stress during life cycle.
One of the main purposes of the marine gyrocompass follow-up system is to preserve the sensitive part from the wandering error due to the frictional or torsional torque around the vertical axis. This error can be diminished through the rapid follow-up action, which minimizes the relative azimuthal angular displacement between the sensitive and follow-up parts and shortens the duration of the same displacement. But an excessive rapidity of the follow-up action would result in a sustained oscillation to the system. Therefore, to design a new type of the follow-up system, the theoretical annlysis of the problems concerned should be studied systematically by introducing the control theory. This paper suggest a concrete procedure for the optimal adjustment of the gyrocompass follow-up system, utilizing the mathematic model and the stability informations formerly investiaged by the author. For theoptimal determination of the adjustable paramfter K, the performance index(P.I.), ITSE(Intergral of the Time multiplied by the Squared Error) is proposed, namely, P.I. = $\int_{0}^{\infty} t \cdot e^{2}(t)dt$ where t is time and e(t) means control error. Then, the optimal parameter minimizing the performance index is calculated by means of Parseval's theorem and numerical computation, and the validity of the obtained optimal value of the parameter Ka is examined and confirmed through the simulations and experiments. By using, the proposed method, the optimal adjustment can be performed deterministically. But, this can not be expected in the conventional frequency domain analysis. While the Mps of the original system vary to the extent of from 0.98 to 46.27, Mp of the optimal system is evaluated as 1.1 which satisfies the generally accepted frequency domain specification.
