Methylthymolblue(MTB)에 依한 Ti(IV)의 吸光光度分析 (Spectrophotometric Determination of Ti(IV) by means of Methylthymolblue(MTB) Complex)

  • A method of the colorimetric determination of titanium has been developed, based on the fact (IV) forms a stable blue complex with methylthymolblue(MTB) which is suitable for spectrophotometric determination of titanium in the concentration range of 0.2 to 22 $\mu$g per ml as $TiO_2$. The determination was carried out in the solution of pH range of 2.6 to 3.6, and the absorbancy of complex was at 600m$\mu$ with Coleman spectrophotometer. Titanium forms a 1:1 complex with MTB, which has a molar absorptivity, $1.1{\times}10^4$ at 600m\mu$. The effects of hydrogen ion concentration, reagent concentration, stability of complex, and hydrolysis were studied. Most of cations do not interfere seriously; however, many of anions such as oxalate, citrate, phosphate, chloride interfere in this determination.

  • $SnO_{2}$가 도핑된 아나타제형의 $TiO_{2}$ 분말을 tin (IV) bis (acetylacetonate) dichloride와 titanium diisopropoxide bis (acetyl- acetonate)를 출발물질로, polyethylene glycol (PEG)을 첨가하여 합성하였다. 반응과정에 대한 구조변화를 FT-IR로 추적하였고, 입자의 모양과 형태 및 결정의 구조는 FE-SEM과 XRD 분석기로 관찰하였다. 합성된 분말의 광촉매 효과는 환경오염물질로 indigo carmine (IC)을 선택하여 UV-visible 스펙트라로 관찰하였다.

  • Titanium dioxide was prepared by Polymer Complex Solution Method(PCSM) according to the mole ratio of Titanium (IV) isopropoxide(TTIP)/solvent and polymer(Poly Ethylene Glycol). Polymer electrolytes were usually made by dispersing preproduced ceramic nanoparticles in a polymer matrix. Using this method, pure and nano-sized $TiO_2$ powder was synthesized through a simple procedure and polymer entrapment route. At the optimum amount of the polymer, the titanium ions are dispersed in solution and a homogeneous polymeric network is formed. The maximum intensity of anatase phase of $TiO_2$ was achieved by calcining at $500^{\circ}C$ for 2h. The synthesized $TiO_2$ powders were nano-sized and the average size was about 50nm. Anatase/Rutile ratio of the synthesized $TiO_2$ was 70%/30%.

Electrochemical Synthesis of TiO2 Photocatalyst with Anodic Porous Alumina

  • Aluminum was anodized in a $H_2SO_4$ solution, and titanium (IV) oxide ($TiO_2$) was electrodeposited into nanopores of anodic porous alumina in a mixed solution of $TiOSO_4$ and $(COOH)_2$. The photocatalytic activity of the prepared film was analyzed for photodegradation of methylene blue aqueous solution. Consequently, we found it was possible to electrodeposit $TiO_2$ onto anodic porous alumina, and synthesized it into the nanopores by hydrolysis of a titanium complex ion under AC 8-9 V when film thickness was about $15-20{\mu}m$. The photocatalytic activity of $TiO_2$-loaded anodic porous alumina ($TiO_2/Al_2O_3$) at an impressed voltage of 9 V was the highest in every condition, being about 12 times as high as sol-gel $TiO_2$ on anodic porous alumina. The results revealed that anodic porous alumina is effective as a substrate for photocatalytic film and that high-activity $TiO_2$ film can be prepared at low cost.

  • Cyclopentadiene compounds, 2-[CR'R(OMe)]-1,3-Me$_2C_5H_3$ (R, R' = 2,2'-biphenyl, 2) and 2-[CR'R(OSiMe$_3$)]-1,3-Me$_2C_5H_3$ (R, R' = 2,2'-biphenyl, 3; R = ph, R' = ph, 4; R = 2-naphthyl, R' = H, 5) are readily synthesized from 2-bromo-3-methoxy-1,3-dimethylcyclopentene (1). Reaction of the cyclopentadienes with Ti(NMe$_2$)$_4$ in toluene results in clean formation of the cyclopentadienyl tris(dimethylamido)titanium complexes, which are transformed to the trichloride complexes, 2-[CR'R(OMe)]-1,3-Me$_2C_5H_2$}TiCl$_3$ (R, R' = 2,2'-biphenyl, 6) and {2-[CR'R(OSiMe$_3$)]-1,3-Me$_2C_5H_2$}TiCl$_3$ (R, R' = 2,2'-biphenyl, 7; R = ph, R' = ph, 8; R = 2-naphthyl, R' = H, 9). Attempts to form C1-bridged Cp/oxido complexes by elimination of MeCl or Me$_3$SiCl were not successful. X-ray structures of 6, 7 and an intermediate complex {2-[Ph$_2$C(OSiMe$_3$)]-1,3-Me$_2C_5H_2$}TiCl$_2$(NMe$_2$) (10) were determined.

Synthesis and Characterization of KTiNbO5 Nano-particles by Novel Polymerizable Complex Method

  • The layered $KTiNbO_5$ was successfully synthesized with titanium(IV) isopropoxide and niobium oxalate by a novel polymerized complex (PC) method. The morphology and structure of the as-prepared sample was characterized by means of High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope, powder X-ray diffraction, and Laser Raman Spectroscopy. The spectral response characteristic was recorded by using UV-vis Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy. Results show that $KTiNbO_5$ as-prepared by PC method presents an uniform morphology of nano-particles, the mean particle sizes is ca. 28 nm corresponding to the (002), and the crystal structure can be well indexed to the orthorhombic phase. The sample as-prepared by PC method has higher band gap energy than that of the sample prepared by a solid-state reaction method due to the quantum size effect.

초임계 증착법을 통한 실리카와 타이타니아 역 오팔의 제조 (Fabrication of Silica and Titania Inverse Opals via Supercritical Deposition)

  • 정보 전달의 수단으로의 빛을 제어하는 기술에 대한 연구가 활발한 가운데, 최근 가장 각광 받고 있는 것이 광결정(Photonic crystals)을 갖는 물질이다. 이를 합성하는 다양한 방법 중에서 초임계 증착법(Supercritical deposition)을 사용하면, 복잡한 내부 구조물까지의 반응물의 침투가 용이하여 신속하고 효율적인 공정이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 비독성, 비인화성 등으로 친환경 초임계 용매인 초임계 이산화탄소(Supercritical carbon dioxide) 분위기 하에서 고분자 콜로이드 주형에 금속 알콕사이드를 코팅하는 방법으로 매크로 기공을 갖는 역 오팔(Inverse opals) 구조물을 합성하였다. 반응온도와 압력은 $40^{\circ}C$와 80 bar로 고정하였으며, 반응 시간과 반응물의 비율을 조절하여 역 오팔의 구조의 변화를 살펴보았다. 실험에는 금속 알콕사이드로써 Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS)와 Titanium (IV) isopropoxide (TTIP)가 사용되었으며, 각각을 통하여 실리카와 타이타니아 역 오팔을 합성할 수 있었다.

Anti-Fogging, Photocatalytic and Self-Cleaning Properties of TiO2-Transparent Coating

  • Transparent, photocatalytic, and self-cleaning TiO2 thin film is developed by TiO2 sol-gel coating on glass and polycarbonate (PC) substrates. Acetyl acetone (AcAc) suppresses the precipitation of TiO2 by forming a yellowish (complex) transparent sol-gel. XPS analysis confirms the presence of Ti2p and O1s in the thin films on glass and PC substrates. The TiO2-sol is prepared by stabilizing titanium (IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) with diethylamine and methyl alcohol. The addition of AcAcsilane coupling solution to the TiO2-sol instantaneously turns to yellowish color owing to the complexing of titanium with AcAc. The AcAc solution substantially improves the photocatalytic property of the TiO2 coating layer in MB solutions. The coated TiO2 film exhibits super hydrophilicity without and with light irradiation. The TiO2 thin film stabilized by adding 8.7 wt% AcAc shows the highest photo-degradation for methylene blue (MB) solution under UV light irradiation. Also, the optimum photocatalytic activity is obtained for the 8.7 wt% AcAc-stabilized TiO2 coating layer calcined at 450 ℃. The thin-films on glass exhibit fast self-cleaning from oleic acid contamination within 45 min of UV-light irradiation. The appropriate curing time at 140 ℃ improves the anti-fogging and thermal stability of the TiO2 film coated on PC substrate. The watermark-free PC substrate is particularly beneficial to combat fogging problems of transparent substrates.

폴리메틸렌 가지로 연결된 이핵 아릴옥시 티타늄 화합물을 이용한 스티렌의 신디오탁틱 중합 (Syndiotactic Polymerization of Styrene Catalyzed by Dinuclear (Cyclopentadienyl) (Aryloxy) Titanium(IV) Complexes with Polymethylene Bridge)

  • 길이가 다른 폴리메틸렌 가지로 연결되고 chloride 대신 aryloxy 기가 치환된 dinuclear half-titanocene $[(\eta^5-cyclopentadienyl)(aryloxy)TiCl_2]_2[(CH_2)_n]$ (n=3, n=6, n=0)를 합성하고 이들의 중합특성을 조사하였다. Chloride 대신 치환된 aryloxy기는 2,6-diisopropylphenoxy를 사용하였다. 합성된 3 종류의 dinuclear half-titanocene은 $^1H\;NMR,\;^{13}C\;NMR$, 원소분석, 그리고 질량분석을 통해 구조와 조성을 규명하였다 3가지 화합물의 중합특성을 비교 조사하기 위해 조촉매(MMAO) 존재 하에서 스티렌의 중합실험을 수행하였으며, 그 결과 (i) 합성된 3 가지 촉매들은 모두 스티렌 중합으로부터 SPS(syndiotactic polystyrene)를 제조하는데 성공적인 촉매였고, (ii) 3화합물 중에서 다리리간드의 길이가 가장 긴 화합물 6이 가장 높은 활성을 나타내었으나 가장 낮은 분자량의 SPS를 생성하였으며, (iii) aryloxy로 치환된 촉매가 치환되기 전의 chloride화합물에 비해 더 높은 활성을 보이는 치환체의 효과가 관찰되었다 이 결과들은 dinuclear half-titanocene에 있어서의 촉매 특성은 다리리간드의 종류와 함께 티타늄에 결합된 음이온의 특성도 촉매의 중합특성에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것임을 보여주는 것이다.
